Hi Stanleyy1991,

The first step, try scan sfc (System File Checker). The sfc scan replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

1. click Startand type cmd in the box start the search.

2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

3. at the command calls, the following line and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

  • 0 x 0000034 BCD error Bootcamp, no startup repair

Hello! I have an end 2013 15 "Macbook Pro, which was double started with OS X 10.11.3 and Windows 10.

After that a particularly large set of Windows Update, on reboot, I get an error indicating that the boot files are missing (error 0 x 0000034). I followed other threads and created a 10 Windows Installer media on a SD card and trying to run the Startup Repair to correct the mistake of BCD.

However, when you start the SD EFI icon in bootcamp, I get a message saying that it seems that I started a Windows upgrade, would I like to continue the upgrade by removing the installation media, or rather to perform a new installation of Windows 10. If I remove the media, I went back to the original error blue screen. If I try a clean install, I'm going through some windows asking for language, entry etc then arrive at a window that asks where I want to install Windows 10.

There are 5 possible partitions available in the window of dialogue and a variety of options, including the 'Refresh' and 'Format', but there is no option to run the Startup Repair tool.

There is another option/icon that appears in bootcamp which is simply called "Windows". Try to boot from this icon gives the same results as starting from the EFI icon, but to a much lower screen resolution (everything is larger and more irregular).

TL; DR: How to startup on a bootable SD card repair, when Windows thinks I have been in the middle of an upgrade when BCD files have been lost?

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Technical specification:
    End 2013 15 "Macbook Pro

    OS X 10.11.3, Windows 10

    I7 to 2.3 GHz

    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

500 GB of Flash storage (334 GB on OS X, 164.6 GB on the bootcamp partition)

Update: I now suspect that the issue is the ISO used to create the bootable media is from a later version of Windows, as my machine crashed in the middle of an update. Is it possible that I can know which version of Windows, I had when BCD files were deleted, and if so, how can I configure the bootable media so that the computer allows me to use the Startup Repair tool?

I tried to boot from a USB instead of SD, without any difference in the results.

  • Error Windows Vista Startup Repair

My HP PC was working great until yesterday.  My son worked on Microsoft word and trying to launch Mozilla Firefox when the PC froze on him.  He tried to restart but failed to start.  He tried to use the system to repair, but it failed.  Attempts to mulitple system restore function have not as well.  Trying to avoid wiping the hard drive, so I thought I'd post the error here and see if he had any suggestions.  Repairing the system fails with the search for the following bugs:

    Unknown error checking: f4 error checking.  Parameters = 0 x 3, 0x88d1a2e0, 0x88d1a42c, 0 x 82232650
    Unknown error checking: f4 error checking.  Parameters = 0 x 3, 0x88ce4d90, 0x88ce4edc, 0 x 82270650

The operating system is Windows Vista Home Edition.  I can't get into the PC via the mode without failure or any other means.  The only options seems to be via the command prompt, although I have not yet tried.

    All appreciated the thought...

    ·        Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, proceed as follows (some does not apply if you use the recovery disk - but to be honest I don't know if it will work with only a recovery disc):

1 put the Windows Vista installation disc (or the recovery disk) in the disk drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    ·        Bootrec /RebuildBcd

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly, click the F8 key during the boot and go into safe mode with network - or do it from the command prompt on the drive).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator (skip this step if you are using the disk)...

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer - if you use the command line, type eventvwr and enter).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html

Good luck and I hope this helps!

CHKDSK may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPEN GERE to this VOLUME WOULD then BE INVALID. And then he asks me if I want to force a disassembly. Press o and had. Windows check the file system and found no problem. The last line says failure to transfer the messages saved in the log of the events with the 50 State. It's all I have.

I get startup repair screen when I try to boot my laptop Dell Inspiron windows 7, I run the scan and detects any errors. So, I tried to use a USB repair for a laptop Dell Latitude Windows 7 pro and I still can't the computer to start. Tried to restore to the factory settings, can not. I have no image, backups, all missing, restore points?

After that I tried to launch the USB repair I got 0x400110020000100A error code and I received error (0x8007027E) indicating the device will not start without a reboot.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not computer illiterate, but am not pro either. Just use them not program them or even understand all languages!

Dell Inspiron laptop about 4-5 years.

    Running windows 7 Home Edition.

Does not start little matter what I tried.

If I remember correctly, I looked in MS-DOS mode and noticed that it said something like "x: win...» "that seemed strange to me because I thought that it should say"c: victory... "but as I said I am not a computer wiz so if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

I'm about to rip the hair off my head with my laptop. My latitude was blue planned, surprisingly I fixed it (don't ask how, you couldn't tell). Then my dell inspiron would not start right after my dell latitude fell out of my truck and landed on the sidewalk, wanted to kill the person, the screen is broken. I can use it but it is very difficult, see a mosquito net and not perfectly clear, works well. lol someone knows somewhere or that would install a new screen for a reasonable price? I live in the Boston area.

Back to the laptop won't start not, when I ran repair USB key received the error 0x400110020000100A

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue. I appreciate your time and effort in resolving this issue.

You can try the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot and repair the following items in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    • A master boot record (MBR)
    • A boot sector
    • A Boot Configuration data (BCD) store

Note: When you are troubleshooting startup issues by using the Windows RE, you should first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If the Startup Repair option does not resolve the problem, or if you must troubleshoot more steps manually, use the Bootrec.exe

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

If the problem persists, proceed to method 2.

    Method 2:

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Tool command prompt open in the mode of the Windows recovery environment .
    2. You will see X:\Sources
    3. Type chkdsk c:\ at the flashing prompt to launch the utility Chkdsk. replace c:\ with the letter of the drive that you want to run the Chkdsk utility. If the hard drive is d:\, then type that instead.
    4. After the "chkdsk c:\. "insert \f command to fix errors on the disk volume or the \r to recover bad sectors and then press ENTER.
    5. Restart the computer once the chkdsk command has completed.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive, it attempts to repair this sector, if all available on which data may be lost.

  • Satellite A660-155 freezes and needs of startup repair or does not start

Hello, in the middle of the month of August, I bought a satellite a660-155, PSAW0E-00U00DEN S/N 5A214647K.
It is registered under warranty until the Aug2011.
After less than a week, it refused to start.
I rang support and they recommended that I use the recovery discs to restore to factory condition. I did and spent the next 3 nights reload software and my backup disk data.

Since then he refuses sometimes to start the hard drive with a relative error that it cannot rfind and then ask which drive to boot from. If I select the hard drive, it starts later. Sometimes when running he crashes and then restarts.

Last night, after that it had not been used for a few days, I woke up he "sleep" mode. I logged on okay, but then the blue logo 'circly' comes on, spinning away happily, and nothing else (just for logging on the text). After 30 minutes, I pressed the power button to turn off because the cell phone was totally insensitive.
On commissioning, I got a white screen for 30 minutes, then the Startup Repair option.
I launched it and check start lasted almost an hour and an hour, then he said, trying to repair. After a few hours, I left and went to bed. This morning, he showed the guest of logon and connected properly, as if nothing had ever happened.

I lost confidence in Toshiba laptops, (I am responsible for computer SCIENCE) and I've never seen this problem before on a so-called quality machine. I only ise it fot simple e-mail/internet/word documents.

All I can conclude is that there is little material defective (hard drive) that stops responding intermittently.

I sent support at 07:00 this morning, but have not had a response.

Can you help me? This machine needs ideally replace or repair collection, back in working condition 100% reliable. Could someone please contact me to see where I go from here?
Under the law of consumption, you have a duty to rectify my sad situation, that the flaw exists again.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the info!
Seems to replace the HARD drive would solve!

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

  • Startup Repair

I got a major update, so I started the Vista Service pack update. I had currently Internet Explorer open, when he did install everything closed and began to close. Then it's the update screen that shows 1 3 to 83%, it is stopped. Then the screen is returned with an error in this regard. Once again I let it wait. Then stop it by pressing the power button. Starting up, he asked if I wanted to start normally or with startup repair. I took the Startup Repair. Now 18 hours more later its still to start the repair. What should I do?

I have a HP Pavilion, if that makes a difference.

    Hi Rockinoutspaz,

To return to the desktop of the computer, we can try to get into safe mode and restore your computer to an earlier date before you installed SP1.

Restart the computer and keep pressing the F8 key to access the Advanced Boot Options menu

    * In the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode, and then press enter

    * When the load of Windows Vista in safe mode and you are signed in, follow these steps to perform a system restore

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    Click Finish.

Follow the instructions above to complete the restoration of the system.
Since you've already tried the Startup Repair tool, if system restore does not work, you may need to reinstall Vista. Let us know if you need assistance.

  • Loop of startup repair after vista update on 15-04-09

    .post a {text-decoration: underline ;}}

    Hello

I hope someone here can help me.  I tried Googling for solutions, but after having tried everything without success, I'm bringing my problem here.

I had gone through the internet when the program to close unexpectedly.   After trying to restart my laptop Dell 1720 (Windows Vista Home Premium), I went to bed after seeing the stage 2/3 update on the screen. It shows, in the morning, he can not start and gives me the ability to startup repair. After that, it is said that it cannot repair this computer automatically. Details of the problem are the following:
    Startup Repair V2
    AutoFailover
    6.0.6000.16386.6.0.6001.18000
    Bad driver
    WrpRepair

I tried to restore to previous restore points (all tell me there's a missing file, error code 0 x 80070002), safe mode, last known good configuration and I end up in the same loop of startup repair. I have not installed recent programs, drivers and devices.  I am depressed and want to avoid going back to a factory installation since I've had this laptop for a year and have a ton of files and programs.  Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ETA: I also run chkdsk (no errors found) and sfc/scannow (Windows Resource Protection cannot run task or something like that).

In fact, my problem has been able to start Windows Vista after the last update (14/04/09) install.  The error code came when I tried to restore my system to my restore points.  Finally I ended up taking my hd to access my data.  Then I tried to reinstall Vista from Dell provided and had problems reinstall drive to do so (hung up END INSTALLATION).  A call to Dell support had me change some of my BIOS settings and finally managed to get Vista installed.  Now, I'm in the painful process of restoring all my programs and personal data.  This time, I created a partition for the operating system and a separate for all my photos, music, etc. so I don't have this problem of losing all my data the next time the fact once again Vista (and it will be!  I already lived 2 BSOD since reinstalling 2 days ago!)  So, there was no solution to my original post.  Good luck to everyone else who has the same problem with the Vista updates.

  • Startup Repair offline, startup guard

This has happened so many times, got my computer, bought separate parts (custom-made, over £1200) installed windows, everything has worked well until about a month. He projected blue and then my hard drive could not be found, kept saying (the disk name: No. NAME TYPE: NTFS) it is a 1 to WD hard drive. Finally it is fixed by raising constantly.

However, this same problem happened about 4 times now, the computer crashes, I pass to the far and same error on blue screen with the hard drive becomes "missing" or "non-detectable".

Now, it just happened again, but this time he decided to worse, Startup Repair maintains the start even when I hit 'start windows normally', 'safe mode', ' last know good config "etc.

Problem is the startup repair can't do anything, this is the error for the Startup Repair:

I stumbed and I have no idea what goes on, anyway, its beginning to annoy me, a computer with all new and new specifications should not do this after a month. And especially should not be late with an i7 processor. Also, I noticed earlier, I keep getting loading screen instead of windows 7, windows vista, even after a fresh install, it still has windows vista startup.

  • Startup Repair - how long is too long?

I'm trying to startup on a Windows Vista laptop repair which starts after would have been closed normally, after what looked like a Trojan attack.  (Do not know what happened to it exactly, but my friend was not run antivirus software!)
Startup Repair tool says 'repair disc errors. It could take more than an hour to finish", but it worked for 9 hours now, and trying to cancel it, returns the message"the repair operation cannot be undone"- is it still doing anything? It would be worthwhile to let the Startup Repair to run longer?
    Thank you

Sorry for the not not to return to this subject at that time. In the case of the laptop, I have problems, the hard drive had to be replaced. I don't know if the HD has been the cause of the original problem, or stop the process of startup repair damaged HD.

  • Startup Repair loop - cannot start Windows

    Hello

I have problems with repair system continuously in a loop and it is not letting me open my computer.
Once he arrives, he works to try to find a problem and then can't find the problem. It is said "If you have recently attached a device to this computer, such as a camera or portable music player, remove it and restart your computer.
I don't have anything fixed, but I will tell when it first happened, I got my attached flash player. Since then, it is not attached.

    Hi lschoen114,

Remove all CD/DVD and restart the computer. Press the F8 key as soon as you start it again, until you reach the Advanced Startup Options menu. Select disable automatic system failure reboot so you can enter the code of stop error when startup fails.  View the details on the screen.
