  You have a static IP address provided by your ISP or just static DNS addresses, your router's Internet Connection Type must be set to the static IP address and you should have by default the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and addresses entered DNS... If you entered just the DNS addresses it won't work...

• DNS issue when workstation has static IP

  I created a SonicWall the other day, and I'm having a problem on 2 workstations. These two work stations have static IP addresses. Other workstations using the DHCP protocol. Those who use DHCP can access Internet without problem.

  Computers with static IP address can access the Internet, but only if they're ready to use the DNS servers of the ISP. If I put them to use the SonicWall as primary DNS, they can't get out to the Internet. Thus, if the SonicWall is 10.0.0.1 the following will not allow Internet access

  IP/subnet: 10.0.0.100/24

  Gateway: 10.0.0.1

  DNS1: 10.0.0.1

  DNS2: another value

  but change DNS1 to 24.92.226.11 (Time Warner DNS) will allow Internet access.

  Any thoughts?

  The SonicWALL cannot act as a DNS server. If you don't have internal DNS I suggest to use the public DNS as google 8.8.8.8.

• Version 29: Address bar is filled with static icons to Firefox. Impossible to type the URL in the address bar.

  I have never seen anything like this before and can't find a solution in support or in a general Google search.

  We have a user who has an address bar has filed with the static icons in Firefox (there's a screenshot if there is no way to predict that). If the user clicks on them, they aren't going anywhere (they shouldn't be here anyway, no?). This user is unable to type in the address bar, either. Not sure if there was an auto-update to version 29 of the next day or not, but Firefox has been uninstalled a sweet version of installed 29 - reasoning that he could be an installation problem. The question remains. This user is not having the same problem with Chrome. Have not tried to breed with another browser on that machine. Have not heard complaints from other users in the Office using version 29.

  Is there a setting being ignored with version 29? Is this a bug? Should we try to install version 28 and see if it's a question of versioning, or maybe something else? Try to eliminate possible problems and move to the next set of solutions.

  It's a very bad situation now. I put t really know what you can do with it, but what you should try is to reinstall original recovery feature by image and test with the factory settings.

• 10 TS Notebook HP Pavilion: Microphone static record instead of this or my voice

  I have the laptop Pavilion 10 TS. A few weeks ago, it was all working well. Now when I use the internal mic all that I hear is a lot of static and my voice is very low in the background.   I understand that you buy your laptop a few weeks ago and it was working fine.  Now, when you use the internal microphone all that you hear is static and your voice is very low in the background.

  Were there of the last changes made to your system as an update or added material?

  I recently bought an Equium U400-145, really happy with it except...

  Yesterday, when I tried to turn it on, absolutely nothing happened - no light, no sound, nothing. I checked the plug, battery etc but nothing.

  ReadyNAS 204 6.5.1
  3 x red new WD 3 to x-raid 25% free
  1 x 1 GB link to router (asus rtn66u)

  I installed Windows 2008 R2 and Hyper-v 2008 on two machines different level of "WORKING group" because I'm small laboratory

  I done the settting up the ip addresses static, of the hostname (s) on those computers.

  Windows 2008 R2 => 192.168.1.60 - obiee

  Hyper-v 2008 => 192.168.1.61 - hyperv2008

  I have DNS running on 192.168.1.10 server and my linux local dns host: narayana.local

  I can ping linux boxes ping, ping hyperv2008 obiee hostnames - works perfectly

  I have a few problems in the windows operating system

  (1) i cannot set my computer full qualified domain name say obiee.narayana.local, hyperv2008.narayana.local - it can be a low priority

  (2) i don't can't ping using host names of these 2 machines - priority issue, I get a message

  C:\Users\Administrators > ping hyperv2008

  Ping request could not find the hyperv2008 of the host. Please check the name and try again

  = I can ping IP_address - works perfectly =

  (3) in view of these questions I can't control my hyper-v to obiee machine.
