status notifier vs wait on the duties of notification

Hello

I have just this doubt about the receipt of tax filers. In most of the examples I found, they have used waiting on notification to receive the alert system sent, but I also found that get notifier status function gives you the last receivied declarant (identical to wait on the service). In the latter case, I presume it only shows what author of the notification has been received but not received any notifier. is it so?

I compared using both, and I can say that it seems that's the difference.

I want to just erase that doubt and get more details if you have... Thank you

The help of the State declaring get:"last notification is the most recent Act notification to the declarant. If no notification is available, the function returns a value of zero for the data type of element that you wired in function get declaring . »

To display the "final notification" and not the "last received" one to be precise. If it does not receive the notification.

Edit: and be very careful when you use the notifiers in LabVIEW. They have a good place to use in certain conditions, usually, when you care only about notification / latest information, and if it is not a problem if certain orders are lost. It is a one-to-many communication.

If you need send commands/data where it is very important that everyone will get to where it should, use queues or user events.

  • Please wait for the customer to political group - stop questions

    Hello

    I have problems with the closing of a machine. When the machine is connected to the corporate network, everything works fine. However, if the computer is connected to the VPN (1 hour or more) it is always suspended when it stops. First step in the shutdown process is:

    Please wait for the system event Notification service.

    This change after 3 minutes exactly. Next step:

    Please wait for Group Policy client windows 7

    is never exceeded (even after a few hours). Machine never off.

    Under newspapers there are always these 4 events when the machine stops in vain:

    1. 6005: the winlogon notification subscriber takes a long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    2. 4627: the event COM + a system expired attempt to fire the method of logging on the event {D5978650-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} class for the Publisher and the Subscriber.  The Subscriber has not responded within 180 seconds. The full name of the subscription is "ISensLogon2". The HRESULT is 80010002
    3. 6006: the winlogon notification subscriber took 180 second (s) to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    4. 6005: the winlogon notification subscriber takes a long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).

    Sense has expired after 3 minutes while there is no event 6006 for GPClient and machine is stuck there for centuries (Please wait for the customer to group policy). I noticed in the system logs that before the machine hangs during the shutdown process there are these errors and warnings:

    • 5783: the session configuration for the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\server for the domain X is not admissible.  The current CPP of Netlogon call on \\machine to \\server was canceled.
    • 1014: name resolution for the name of the server has expired after none of the configured DNS servers answered.
    • 131: NtpClient could not set a domain peer to use as a source of time due to the DNS resolution error on ". NtpClient will try again in 3473457 minutes and double the reattempt interval thereafter. The error was: the requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found. (0x80072AFC).

    There is more than 1014 events for different servers and some 131. 5783 is always alone.

    I did a group policy log, because I thought that I will be able to see where the machine stuck. Below you can see the part of the newspaper GPSVC when the machine stops in vain:

    I excluded 1 GP machine and left on the VPN for a few hours, several times. He always stopped correctly.

    However I tried with the VPN disconnection before turning off the machine, I even turned off WiFi but machine still hanging. If I tried to get GP results it takes ages before stopping the machine and he's stuck in the step "to get the user name. Gpupdate/force will never update policy (it stops at policy update...). I tired with the installation of different patches that has not solved the problem.

    I think that there is that DNS issues while the machine is on VPN which led the GP cannot be applied. When the machine tries to close it is always somehow connected. There is no problem with the connection, no GP application script when the user disconnects, not roaming profiles.

    Does anyone have the same problems? All machines are Dell with Juniper NC (VPN).

    Thank you

  • Notifier release outside of the loop of consumption

    Hi all

    I use a notifier to a stop button.  My stop button was not stop in one of the cases (1 error to wait on the notice in hand MTTF.vi).  I've highlighted the code and noticed that when I pressed stop, the notifier has been released prior to notifying the consumption loop.  When I published the notifier outside the loop of consumption, my error has disappeared.

    Looks like a simple fix which is awesome, but ine everything I've read or seen so far, that the release was out of the loop of producer.  Is there a drawback to doing it this way?

    A more common way to deal with this should treat a mistake to wait on notice as a stop condition, because the error indicates that the notifier has been released, and the only way that can happen is that the loop of the producer ended.

    The way you described, you could get in a situation where the producer loop stops but the consumer does not and since the Notifier is not released until the consumer left, the loop of the consumer will never stop because he always waits for a notification that will never come (but the declarant is still valid, if it continues to wait).

  • which will cause 'notify() and wait()' mechanism no longer works?

    Hi all

    My application has worked for a few years, unless the user recently upgraded to OS7.1 and to try out my new device, all of a sudden, he is part works not properly.

    Appplcaition will download data from the server, long story Short,

    When there is no queue of download, application will wait until asked to download real.

    my code something like the follow up:

            InvokeContainer c = new InvokeContainer(r);
            synchronized (c.syncObj) {
                // push to queue
                synchronized (_queue) { _queue.addElement(c); }
                LogManager.getInstance().add("Notify queue Thread _queue size " + _queue.size());
                synchronized (_queueSyncObj) { _queueSyncObj.notifyAll(); }
                // wait for release
               // LogManager.getInstance().add("Invoke data wait to release");
                //synchronized(c.syncObj){
                    try { c.syncObj.wait(); } catch (Exception ex) {}
                //}
                LogManager.getInstance().add("Invoke data released");
            }

            while (!_stop) {
                InvokeContainer c = null;

                // wait for invoke
                c = getNextInvoke();
                if (c == null) {
                    LogManager.getInstance().add("Wait For next queue");
                    synchronized (_queueSyncObj) {
                        try {
                            _queueSyncObj.wait();
                            LogManager.getInstance().add("Invoked");
                        } catch (Exception ex) {
                            LogManager.getInstance().add("Exception happened: " + ex.toString());
                        }
                    }
                    c = getNextInvoke();
                    LogManager.getInstance().add("Get a new queue ");
                }

    My question is:

    my request always stop at the:

     LogManager.getInstance().add("Notify queue Thread _queue size " + _queue.size());

    and I saw there's a queue, waiting, however, the line after wait() never called.

    which will cause notify() citing not wait()?

    For me, in places, your code seems too complicated for what he seeks to achieve.  I'll try to simplify.

    First you have loads of protection around your creating a Singleton RuntimeStore object.  This seems pointless.  Take a look at this:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/create-a-singleton-using-the-RuntimeStore/TA...

    Go through your code, I wonder what follows:

    (1) public static synchronized IPCThread getServerInstance() {}

    Why is this it is synchronized?  Iron several people getting to this offers no additional protection.

    (2) synchronized (GlobalSync.getSyncObj (GUID))...

    This synchronized block offers no additional protection either.  Either the

    IPCThread will be there or it won't, there is no possibility of a race condition causes you a problem here.

    (3) public static synchronized IPCThread initServerInstance() {}
    synchronized (GlobalSync.getSyncObj (GUID)) {}

    Here, there might be some value to have only one person to create it at the same time.  But if it's a question, then the second person through should check if it has been created, this code is not.  Thus, each invocation of

    initServerInstance()

    will create and start a new IPCThread.  The synchronized are totally redundant and you have a potential hole in your treatment.

    (4) public synchronized static getInstance() {} IPCThread

    you have another way to get an IPCThread, which in fact is not identical to the above and, will be different if you start another instance of your Application, for example an alternative entry or a variant of starting.

    I recommend that you replace it with the unique getInstance() method based on article.  Do start the IPCThread if it creates.

    OK, I understand that you don't think that this is related to your problem, but with the code you have, there may be several IPCThreads and would not help.

    Now on your invocation code.

    Can you please remove static from the following:

    private static class InvokeContainer...

    As far as I KNOW, he does not buy you anything in this circumstance, and it confuses me.

    The idea here seems to be that you can provide an executable in this process, which it runs and then inform the task (if necessary) awaiting.  You pack the floor area in an InvokeContainer.

    The first thing to look at, it's how you entered extracting from the queue.  Here you protect with this line:

    synchronized (inasmuch)

    So what you're saying to me here, it's that you will protect this treatment in protecting access to the inasmuch.  Something we will add it to the queue. or something is going to take off it the queue, both may not occur at the same time.  That's ok.

    So how do add you to the queue?

    Ignoring the code that will process if the process id is the same, we get this:

    InvokeContainer c = new InvokeContainer (r);
    synchronized (c.syncObj) {}
    Push the queue
    synchronized (inasmuch) {_queue.addElement (c) ;}
    synchronized (_queueSyncObj) {_queueSyncObj.notifyAll () ;}
    wait for the release
    try {c.syncObj.wait () ;} catch (Exception ex) {}}
    }

    Now, we have already seen the queue is protected using "synchronized (inasmuch).  But this code will not prevent the entry we just added picked up before that we treat the notify - in other words, the notification cannot be taken into account.  But that's OK.  The reverse is not.  If the Thread that processes the code IPCThread is at this point:

    If (c == null) {}

    and the Thread that the addition of the transformation executes these two instructions:

    synchronized (inasmuch) {_queue.addElement (c) ;}
    synchronized (_queueSyncObj) {_queueSyncObj.notifyAll () ;}

    then the IPCThread will miss warn him.

    To fix this, I'll do what I suggested earlier.

    The way, this seems very strange:

    InvokeContainer c = new InvokeContainer (r);
    synchronized (c.syncObj) {...}

    but in fact, this means that the code will never fail of the treated IPCThread this practicable, since the notification

    synchronized (c.syncObj) {c.syncObj.notify () ;}

    Cannot run until this thread is waiting.  It's a good thing.

    So that leaves only one thing to discuss - the.invokeAsync.  This code looks good, if the

    synchronized (c.syncObj) {...}

    is completely redundant.

    Summary - 2 recommendations:

    (a) change your Singleton IPCThread to use the RuntimeStore method suggested in the KB article

    (b) check the inside of the protection of

    synchronized (_queueSyncObj) {}

    which

    c = getNextInvoke();

    is always set to null.

    Finally, have you thought about putting a delay time in your expectations, while without worrying about the activity or not, the Thread will pick up every now and again work?  For example:

    _queueSyncObj.wait (1000);

    Edit: Minor typo and readability...

    First try a reset to see if it finishes downloading. Press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears. Release the two buttons. Wait until the iPad tour starts on its own.

    Check if you can remove the application. If not go into settings > general > use iCloud and storage > storage > storage management. Wait for the list of apps to open. See if the float is on the list. If it is delete it from there.

  • Should I wait for the release of FF 4 to install on my new laptop?

    I have a 3.x version of FF on my "old" laptop, but I bought a new laptop a couple of weeks and you want to install FF4 on it. Q: should I wait until the complete liberation of 4 FF to install on the new machine, or it would be 'better' download FF 3.x first?

    Personally I use the version release candidate of Firefox 4.

    Firefox 4 release candidate now will become the official version of Firefox 4 providing that no bugs are found which forces a new version should be created. If there is a second release candidate, those who use the first release candidate will automatically be updated to the latest version. It is still subject to quality assurance testing, but so far no showstopper bugs were found.

  • Looking for a Boolean function similar to or, but do not wait for the second entry in case he gets a 'real' a single entry

    my program works in 2 processes in parallel inside a while loop and should stop when one of them ends.

    How can I do? Uses the function 'Or' wire loop the stop condition will not do the job, waiting for the two processes to give their comments before running.

    What I really need is a function that waits until she gets a 'true' through one of its entry and then executes without waiting than the other.

    Y at - it such an option?

    If not, does anyone have an idea how to achieve what I have described here?

    Thanks in advance!

    What you need is a "not synchronous or", i.e. "do something if Item 1 becomes real GOLD point 2 becomes true.  One way that comes to mind to do is with a design of producer/consumer model (event), where the consumer is a State Machine with a shutdown state.  Get 1 point to trigger an event (perhaps using a user event or property Value Change (follow the signs)) when it turns out true, and have it send to the consumer the Stop State.  Download point 2, to do the same thing.  Now one of them becoming true will cause the shutdown state be registered (without taking care of doing the other element), in other words, that becomes a real, (consumer) loop stops.

  • Minimum time to wait in the loop of reading series

    Hello

    I would like to ask if it is possible to read data from a serial port loop each 17ms? If so, how to read Serial and it management loop set.

    I'm the Arduino Uno card reading that can run on up to 115200 baud rate of kbs. Arduino sends each integral 17ms (0-3). Now, I can't read them separately (each part one by one, I get numers as 123, 231, 12, instead of 1, 2, 3 etc.), but this may be due to other stuff I do in the loop. I elaborate more on my VI later - now I would like to know if it is possible using LV 2011 + VISA read serial number of each 17ms. What bothers me the most is that I saw many times on this forum that people suggest of don't not to go below 10ms timeout in the Serial reading loop (same base series Read and Write provided in examples of or). If ms waiting loop of x, where x is 17ms divider?

    You hear that you read whole and not full? Send you one byte or more? If it is a single byte, then just define it as the number of read. Do not put in any function wait and do not use the VISA to the Serial Port bytes. Playback VISA will be automatically terminated when one reads a single byte. You send a terminator after the number? Waiting in the example has nothing to do with a constant data stream reading and with a terminator is completely useless.

    Thanks Mason. You got me thinking on the right track.  I made a few changes based on an example I found of NOR.  I changed analogInReader.BeginReadWaveform (...) of data = analogInReader.ReadWaveform (600000) and I changed the while (_PXI6229_SLOT12.runningTask! = null) {} to _PXI6229_SLOT12.runningTask.WaitUntilDone () and it seems to work fine.

    Thanks for your help.
