  Hello. I just installed a new motherboard (ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3) and I have some problems to install Windows 7 to start.   You may need to put the controller driver from the motherboard, the hard drive on a usb flash drive, and then load them so that the drive to install Windows 7 to see your hard drive.  I had to do with a computer laptop Toshiba Portege M400 tablet that has a raid controller, which does not have the disc to install Windows 7 drivers for.  Get the driver from the ASUS website, expand it on a USB flash drive, put the Flash DRIVE into a usb port, start your Windows 7 installation disc, install the driver if necessary...

  I have a HP touchsmart 7320 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed.

  I have to install Windows XP (32 bit) next to Windows 7, so that I can run a costly professional application which meets the incompatibility issues with Windows 7.

  Compatibility mode makes no difference. Virtual PC and XP mode are broken during the installation of the application. So its a way for me to have a dual-boot with Windows 7 ande Windows XP machine.

  When I am installing Windows XP (all versions-family, professional, 32 or 64-bit with original CD always) gives a blue screen with strange characters and the following STOP message:

  ... which none worked.

  A bit of history. I run a MSI 890XM-G65 and the installation manual can be found at http://www.msi.com/service/
  I use a Radeon HD 6870 graphics card.
  A SATA HARD DRIVE.

  So. Since I got the BSOD (the o death blu screen), these are the steps I've tried:
  I started pressing F8 and tried to start a repair. BSOD appears.
  I started pressing F8 and tried "Run with the last configuration that worked", same thing.
  I changed my boot on CD/DVD in BIOS and tried from my Windows install disc, BSOD appears.
  I tried to delete my graphics (Radeon) card and attached monitor to the on-board, BSOD arises.
  I tried to use one of my RAM sticks GSKILL (two, distinct moments by themselves) and tried in different locations. I also borrow a new KINGSTON DDR3 ram friends and tried is separately, BSOD appears at reboot.

  I also went through the manual to make sure that all power cords are plugged in etc.

  The error is:

  It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (look for the BIOS and driver
  updates.)

  I looked at these stop error numbers and, since there are a lot of hard disk space, try update BIOS.  The instructions on the Microsoft Web site stop at 'Contact your manufacturer.'  The Dell BIOS update, I downloaded is an .exe file, but the instructions I found are all for a .iso file.

  How do I boot from CD to update the BIOS without this kind of file name or how to update the bios in this form?

  Is there something else I should do if the BIOS update will not work?

  Your error message, the problem is probably caused by BIOS or DVD settings or bad cabling to SATA hard drive. Please do the following to narrow down because of the problem.
   
  (a) ensure that all laptops the same hardware, the same manufacturer and the same model.
   
  (b) upgrade the BIOS to the latest version; go into the BIOS and enable "Load Fail - Safe Defaults".
