  Hi, any idea how to boot from a recovery disk from Lenovo for Windows 7 on a USB stick on DVD player? The laptop is running cannot run from the Linux operating system. The BIOS utility does not recognize the drive no matter what I select in the start menu (USB, CD, USB FDD or USB HDD) and the F12 boot utility also does not recognize the drive. Incidentally, F12 recognizes the Linux USB drive so I know it works. The external drive is a Leicke DVD R/RW DVD.

  The reason for wanting to boot from the Windows 7 recovery drive is to reinstall Win 7 on a new installation, dual boot Linux (Mint), and then install iTunes on WIn 7so I can sync to my iPhone and run everything in Linux. I tried to use an emulator under Linux but unsucessfully Win.

  I'm working on a network to restrict access to the ISSO role USB mass storage, only. Management wants to access USB Mass Storage for ISSOs on all workstations while blocking access to USB mass storage to all others... on all the workstations.   There are many ways to do it, but the only 'reliable' method, I found so far is to point the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\UBSSTOR\ImagePath key to some fake file to block ports and rename it back to access it again.

  To do this, I need to do things more two 2...

  1. make sure that the ImagePath key always has the false value at startup, and

  2. create a login script that affects the ImagePath value when a member of the ISSO group connects... and reset it when they log off.

  Which meet the requirements of the direction if only it worked! The problem is that USB devices must be listed again to re-read the ImagePath registry key after each change. Reconnect the device will do, but it would be unwise to rely on a user to restrict access (fox/Coop).

  I just bought this WRT160NL router to replace an old G 54, I had that malfunctioned and died a few days ago. If I plug my pc this HDD directly to any USB 2.0 port, I get normal speeds for USB 2.0, but if I try to copy/read from the HDD connected to the router instead, I get speeds that most resemble USB 1.1 (somewhere in the 12 ~ 15 Mbit/s range).

  Anyone know if this is normal? This router has a USB 1.1 port? (I can't find a datasheet or manual indicating the type of USB port used in this unit). Maybe the NTFS system is supported, but not the best to use with this router?

  It is USB 2.0 but the router CPU is not so powerful to support fully as much transfer of data via the USB interface. A NAS works better.

  If your media or Images are stored on the memory of our device then first install BlackBerry desktop Software here BlackBerry desktop software after installation connect your device using the USB cable and run the Desktop software.
