  Hello, I've noticed lately that seems to be corporate external ad create hyperlink in the stories I read. This is not the case when I use Internet Explorer.

• Windows Server 2008 R2 NFS mounted data store is read only

  I've done this dozens of times in the past, but not with this exact combination successfully:

  ESX4 U1

  Windows 2008 R2 Server Datacenter edition

  NFS Server installed. TCP Version 3.

  The normal configuration that worked in the past:

  NTFS security - total control on ANONYMOUS logon, everyone control total

  The local policies, network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users (applied automatically by Windows)

  NFS Sharing - ANSI encoding, allow anonymous access - UID = - 2, GID = - 2

  NFS share permissions - allow all THE MACHINES read-write, ROOT access

  The data store adds OK and appears in the list of data on vClient stores and can be viewed or directly via a Console logon.

  The problem is that the data store is read only! Nothing from ESX can write, delete, or update a folder or a file on the data store. Access Windows NTFS is very well.

  This means also you cannot boot from say a CD ISO on the data store, or create a VMDK guest virtual computer on the data store.

  Given that I had zero problems with this in the past, when with the help of ESX3 or ESX4 connect to Windows Server 2003R2 or several NAS with NFS devices supported I think Windows 2008R2?

  Has anyone seen anything like this before?

  I use it currently; It works fine, but it's the way that you configure the windows nfs export without having to use a mapping service (see images)

  Also, be aware that Windows System Cache is a bit less efficient than linux (but that's ok) you just need to add additional RAM at least 16 GB for the data store busy.

  I also recommend refining delays in setting up nfs for each virtual machine host:

  NFS. HeartbeatFrequency = 10

  NFS. HeartbeatFailures = 5

  And on windows change the properties of the NFS server in the locking tab

• Reading and storage of data

  I had a problem of data storage and read. I used the combination of 'open data', 'Data entry' and 'narrow memory' to store data in the form of table as shown below.

  As indicated in the data file is in the form of tdm. This works very well in my computer, the VI and the stand-alone application. However when I run the stand-alone application on a target computer, the storage file is inflated.

I wonder if someone could help me solve this problem. If there is no other way I can store and read the file? or if I can make the target pc to generate the TOC file.

• Multiple read RTD with myDAQ

  I'm working on a project with myDAQ requiring three RTD constantly reading.

  Two of Thermistors are 3 wires, the other is 4 wires. I followed the tutorial on the RTD Web site with a difference - I connect the RTD to the analog input. The excitation current is supplied by the power supply 5V on the myDAQ. I measured the current to be 37.3mA. When I open the DAQ assistant and choose all the parameters, the resistance reading is a constant 124 ohms. I held the RTD in my hand, put it in ice water, and reading this has not changed. However, when I provided power to the RTD and checked the resistance with a multimeter, it read 115 and this resistance * fact * change when it is placed in ice water.

  Can someone help me out here?

  I couldn't see the guide that you linked, it seems that it redirected to this forum?  If you were referring to the myDAQ, then you can use a 3 or 4-wire thermocouple, just in mode 2 son like that described in the article I linked.  And Yes, this measure seems to be only possible between HI and COM, not between analog input + /.

• Vista DVD cannot be read

  I'm trying to reinstall Windows Vista with DVD. The DVD is not being perceived or playback after inserting into the DVD recorder. Another DVD or CD that I insert in the CD/DVD burner drive can be read and accessed. Only disks Vista DVD cannot be read. An older Windows XP disc can be read correctly. I can't see scratches on discs and actually used a record of 32-bit of Windows Vista clean, never used, and it can also be read. Music CD or DVD any other game DVD movie I have no problem at all with. Can anyone answer why this occurs only for the operating system disks?

• Best way to add permissions to a shared data store?

  I have an application (Replay), who must be able to restore a computer to an ESX virtual.  She is aware of vCenter and uses it to identify hosts and data warehouses, but he wants then SSH to that host, mkdir on a data store directory, then copy the vm disk data.  Operations of connection and files are unattended.

  
  I created a user on a host ESX 4.1 but that the user has no rights to create a directory on the data store.  I want to be careful to apply permissions because this data store is shared storage between this group and there are production virtual machines running on it.  I don't want to enable the root user access SSH and I don't want the root password is known other demand for proofreading business owners.

  I already tried to add this new user directly on the host, allowing SSH access to it, adding that user to the Administrator role on the ESX using the vSphere client.  I thought that would be enough to allow file operations, but when the user account wants to mkdir there is an access denied error.

  I would check your permissions on the host computer by using 'su - username'.  Once you are connected as long as user, try to create a directory in the subdirectory appropriate off/vmfs/volumes.

  If it fails, look this user permissions in the folder datastore ("/ vmfs/volumes/datastorename he 's").  In my case, all files owned by user root and group root.  However, by default, permissions are 755 therefore belonging to a group of "root" will not help because the members of the group is not write.  If you can, I test this on a non-essential data store and change the permissions of the directory data store itself be 775 (rwxrwxr-x).

  In addition, if the default group for the user is not root, but users or something else, the new directories in the data store will be created with a bad group membership unless you change the variables in the shell of the user.  I simplify this by ensuring that the default group for the user is 'root '.

  I don't think your NFS here login account.  The data store is read/write to this host and guests and the locking takes place on a basis by the host to the data store subdirectory level.

• Could not import the Reader Extensions certificate

  I use the virtual appliance to assess LiveCycle and I can't import the certificate of Reader Extensions.  I'm sailing Trust Store Management > certificates, type an Alias, go to the trial .pfx file I downloaded and click Import.  Then a message pops up saying "invalid certificate".  Any ideas on what is the problem?

  The credentials of Reader Extensions are a .pfx file (with a file containing the credentials password .txt accompaniment).  Check signing authorities document can be .cer then please make sure that in the section "Type of trust store", the 'Reader Extensions Credential' box is checked before you import it.

  You are trying to import settings-> Trust Store Management-> local credentials right?

• Enums with the implementation of the specific method constant

  Just faced the following problem. I have the persistence of a class with one of the fields of it's enum with the implementation of the constant specific method:

  The problem seems to be in this compiler creates a separate class, namely Message$ Type$ 1.class for the DEFAULT instance and this class knows no BDB...
  
  If I delete the specific constant method of the enum, everything works fine (as the... $1.class is not created by the compiler)... Except for the fact that I would have the constant-specific methods he...

  Hi Mikhail,

  I've recreated the problem here and you're right, the constant-specific methods do not work. This isn't something that we thought, to be honest or tested.

  Just, based on a first glance I see that for the class of the generated compiler, the Class.isEnum method returns false, which is why we do not recognize this as an enum and finally throw us the exception you see. But assuming that we can identify the class as an enum (which shouldn't be too hard) I don't know what other problems will meet us in trying to support this.

  For now I think the best thing is to avoid using the constant-specific methods. I opened a ticket (#18357) so that we will be sure to look into this more closely and see if it can be taken care of in the future.

  If we are able to support, so I hope that we do not have to store additional metadata for the constants that have methods. In other words, I hope that we will not have to add any additional storage space or processing overhead.

• Getting 7 error with the HTTP POST vi method when deplyed ISO crio as executable... urgent!

  Hi all

  I have an application where I can access the net server point of LabVIEW via the HTTP protocol to send the data. My application works fine when I run it on XP, and also sometimes on cRIO. I'm writing and reading files to store and read data from the server.

  When I do my application executable and deployed on cRIO I am constantly 7 error that says "Error in the node library function to call at the POST vi LabVIEWHTTPCLIENT".

  After getting this error if I try to run the my new project the crio (not through exe) I keep getting the same error. This means once the executable file is deployed on the crio, I get the error in my project application which was working fine before you deploy the executable file.

  7 occurs very frequently. and I am unable to find the reason. I gave all the paths in the constant form located on crio and files accessible also when the application is run.

  Is someone can you please help me what this error 7?

  Solution is provided by the NOR... Vi POST method missing two files that need to be there in the startup of the CRIO.insted folder there is in the system folder. That's why when running the exe that the startup on crio application it gives error as the files are not there. The fix for this HTTP POST vi update isn't out yet EITHER.
