Gaurav 305

-305 department_id enters the table, still uncommitted well, but why it is happening?

Hello

Since you mentioned the HR diagram,

SQL> desc departments
 Name                                      Null?    Type
 ----------------------------------------- -------- ----------------
 DEPARTMENT_ID                             NOT NULL NUMBER(4)
 DEPARTMENT_NAME                           NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
 MANAGER_ID                                         NUMBER(6)
 LOCATION_ID                                        NUMBER(4)

If I run the first code without exception

SQL> declare
  2  begin
  3  insert into departments values (305,'Gaurav',10,90);
  4  dbms_output.put_line(1/0); --- exception
  5  commit;
  6  end;
  7  /
declare
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02291: integrity constraint (HR.DEPT_LOC_FK) violated - parent key not
found
ORA-06512: at line 3

My locations table do not have location_id 90.
It can be true in your case too.

Where as when I run the second code

SQL> declare
  2  begin
  3  insert into departments(department_id,department_name) values (305,'Gaurav');
  4  dbms_output.put_line(1/0);
  5  commit;
  6  exception
  7  when others then
  8  dbms_output.put_line('I have catched the exception');
  9  end;
 10  /
I have catched the exception

PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

SQL> select * from departments
  2  where department_id=305;

DEPARTMENT_ID DEPARTMENT_NAME                MANAGER_ID LOCATION_ID
------------- ------------------------------ ---------- -----------
          305 Gaurav
I am exclusively listing the columns. So the foreign key column location_id here is inserted as null.
Which is acceptable.

    Can you help me out on this issue?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Suresh Mohan says:

    Outside chr (256), are there other characters of white space available?

    White space characters are listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitespace_character.

    From the point of view of the old MS-MS-BACK/ASCII characters, a white space character was #256 as the chariot of normal space was #32. He was also a space compared to a difficult space.

    You need to look at the character set you use - ASCII is a set of characters in a single byte, and not the same thing.

    You can use the SQL DUMP() function to watch the characters in a string. For example

    select dump( my_string_column ) from my_table where ...

  • Need help to understand why "1 is always equal to 1" is required in my tip Action

    I use 7 Captivate and publishing as a SWF file.

    I have an interaction that works, but there's a script I use (that I found in a tutorial) that I do not understand the purpose of.

    The interaction is contained on a single slide where a user clicks on two buttons in order any and a chart is displayed after the second click. Each button, I advanced conditional Action where I first check that it will always be true that "1 equals 1", then assign each variable with '1', then ensure that each variable is equal to 1, after which the graphic appears.

    The part that confuses me checks if "1 is always equal to 1." Why is this necessary script in this case? Is it necessary because I'm including a tip Action Standard (assign variables to '1') within the conditional Action Advanced? Or is related to the fact that I do everything on a slide (do not use a slide event on enter a conditional Action executing advanced)?

    Thank you.

    As usual, Rick explanation is awesome! It won't be fun to add more details.

    It would have helped if you don't say what tutorial you are talking about. This could be one on my blog, where I often use a "standard action imitated" it is a decision in a conditional action. The condition, I mainly used was 'IF 1 is equal to 1'. Article 1 (over 4 years): combination Standard and conditional in a tip action was even in Captivate 5 help documentation.

    Probably, I'll write a new blog post, because of the new shared actions. It is now better is to not use this simple condition more 'If 1 is equal to 1' If you use shared in Captivate 8 actions. It would take too long to explain in depth in this forum, so my idea on a new article. This condition could function without problems "Een if equals Een. Do not laugh at the word 'Een' which is the Dutch version of the written number 1. Be careful, because Captivate is case-sensitive, that 'If Een equals een' will not work.

  • Can someone help me understand why my Illustrator CS6 and 2014 CC, CC are slow to save even a simple vector object?

    I tried my CS6, CC and CC 2014 Illustrator versions, I uninstalled my wacom driver, antivirus, tried to save objects different vector elements as simple containly.

    I restarted my computer several times, I have more than 25% of free space in my SSD and HDD.

    My laptop is Alienware m17x and I use Windows 8.1

    I didn't have this problem last week and there has been little change in my laptop, I removed a few things that I installed just in case they were originally the slow economy. I run a limited number of programs at the same time.

    It's funny how Illustrator uses very little processor power when its economy, he said 0.2 percent while displaying "does not.

    Here is the solution.
    I put my laptop to print via another computer that is physically connected to a printer, so I was able to print from anywhere in the House.

    When the computer was turned off, Illustrator for some reason any did not like to exploit.

    I changed the default to Adobe PDF printer, I have not had any more problems.

  • Please help me understand why these links to internal pages do not work!

    Help, please!  I feel pretty clueless why the internal links do not work on this page in question: http://pclake.com/banquets/info/accomodations.html

    I inserted a few JS to highlight the tags < h2 > which works fine on these pages...

    http://pclake.com/banquets/Info/FAQ.html

    http://pclake.com/banquets/info/vendors.html

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    You have used html ID more than once on the page.

    When you link to an id (essentially an anchor), it will go to the first on the page, that is, the buttons themselves.

    You need to set your credentials, either remove the links IDS, or change the IDS used in the elements later in the page.

    EDIT: You need to run your page through the validator to http://validator.w3.org to clear all errors in your HTML (42 errors 5 warnings).

  • Need help to understand why my WiFi connection times out after an hour?

    Windows XP Pro SP3. Dell Latitude D600; NetGear WNA1100 USB adapter

    I connect WiFi to one of the two cafes the. In two places, I get about an hour of connection, and then he falls. I use IE7 both FFox.

    In a store, I lost the connection with the error message: "this problem occurred because the network has not assigned a network address of the computer." To another, I actually get a blue screen with the error caused by the .sys associated with my NetGear app (I forget the real name until I see the BSOD - athuw.sys or something like that?).

    To reconnect, I gotta make a stop full and energized. REPAIR don't reconnect - "could not renew IP address". Even REBOOTING won't let me no reconnect - there must be a full stop and repower.

    Windows Firewall is disabled; I use ZoneAlarm free instead. Could there be a conflict? I know that ZA never remember the profiles that I put in place, although the NetGear app not.

    According to a post in the forum of NetGear, the automatic configuration service is disabled. (http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=1133) (Yes, I have posted this question directly on the NetGear forum - no one has picked up on it.)

    If anyone has any ideas I can try (possibly some detailed instructions as I am not very savvy system), I'd be very grateful!

    Hello people,

    I need help to understand Regular Expressions.
    -- This returns the Expected string from the Source String. ", Redwood Shores,"

      FROM DUAL;

    REGEXPR_SUBSTR

    , Redwood Shores,

    However, when the query is changed to find the Second Occurrence of the Pattern, it does not match any. IMV, it should return ", CA,"

    SELECT
      REGEXP_SUBSTR('500 Oracle Parkway, Redwood Shores, CA,aa',
                    ',[^,]+,', 1, *2*) "REGEXPR_SUBSTR"
      FROM DUAL;

    REGEXPR_SUBSTR
    -------------------------------
    NULL
    Can someone help me understand why second query not returning ", CA, '?

    I did research on this forum and found the link on the thread "https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2400143" for the basic tutorials.

    Kind regards
    P.

    The reason is that the comma between 'Redwood Shores' and 'CA' already represents the first occurrence.
    So it can not match the second occurrence at the same time.

    You can replace to (remove the trailing ',' in the regex):

    SELECT  REGEXP_SUBSTR('500 Oracle Parkway, Redwood Shores, CA,aa',',[^,]+', 1, 1) REGEXPR_SUBSTR  FROM DUAL;

    SELECT  REGEXP_SUBSTR('500 Oracle Parkway, Redwood Shores, CA,aa',',[^,]+', 1, 2) REGEXPR_SUBSTR  FROM DUAL;

    When you remove also the leading comma you get to the BlueShadows solution.

    Please help me understand

    Thanks in advance.

    You must use 1 & instead of & dummy_var.

    The number refers to the position of the parameter to use; 1 is the first parameter & 2 would be a second parameter and so on.

    SELECT dummy
    FROM dummy_tbl
    WHERE dummy_col=&1;

    Download new BIOS Toshiba has failed due to a compatibility issue with Windows 7.

    Also I tried to download a driver of keyboard updated without success.

    Thanks for the tips.

    > My computer repair shop says that, if a keyboard is going bad, it would go bad in all applications and not only one, but > I feel only happen when online, most often on the enamel.

    I agree that if keyboard would be defective, the issue should be the help of other applications or the publishers.

    Have you tried to use a different e-mail application to test this behavior strange keyboard?
    Do this!

    In addition you can connect an external USB keyboard functionality as part of your email application.

Whenever I try to communicate with a friend on the list it will immediately power off. If I try to open messenger of the taskbar, the same thing happens. I ran a quick check on my office and found all kinds of strange things, including my name seems to be in Chinese (?) Can someone tell me please how to get rid of this mess, so that I can use messenger again? I found an address of sorts, something that I mentioned, it is not encrypted. Please help me out here if you can. Thank you very much.

  • Difficult problem upgrading Vista/Windows 7 for anyone who dares to try to help me to solve it. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS!

    My computer is a few years old, but has always been a good thing. I have a Gateway P6831FX laptop. It came with Vista pre-installed, but also many devices hardware upgrade card high quality graphics, monitor, sound system, etc. because it was built for the high-quality games.  Unfortunately, my OS system crashed and the computer did not come with recovery discs (gateway said that I should order the discs on their part and that I had to pay for them. Which shocked me because when I bought the computer I paid for a license to the BONE so you would think they would send the recovery discs I free).  However, I recently bought a disc to upgrade to windows 7 because I was planning on upgrading my system before it crashed.  So with a computer, I couldn't use, I thought that I had nothing to lose and I decided to try to load my system windows 7 on the computer.  I put the disc in the drive and load windows 7 with no problems at all.  I don't know if I've checked all the right boxes when he asked all sorts of questions, but my big computer worked when I was tired.  I had to go online and download the driver for the webcam to webcam would work once again and I lost all programs preloaded but other than that everything seems to work fine.  But then all of a sudden the sound no longer works.  I turned off the computer and turn it back on and the sound was back on.  But a few hours later, the noise stopped working again and it keeps going.  It is when I reboot it, but it is becoming a chore.  I decided that I would try to fix it and I went into the Device Manager and I discovered something to worry about. All original equipment upgraded in the computer is no longer registered.  All that was there was listed as generic devices Microsoft and number of manufacturer information and model said: not available. The monitor, for example, is listed as 'No generic PnP Monitor'.  Everything updated, so that I paid extra watch now simply known as generic peripheral windows (with a date of installation date that I loaded windows 7).

    Is there anyway to retrieve the updated materials and programs without having to order and pay for the vista recovery discs?  If I have to, I'll have to erase windows 7 then reload vista with recovery disks and then reload again the upgrade to windows 7?  However, one thing that baffles me is that when I pull my hard drive it shows that I have 2 here.  It shows 1 Partition (C) and (D) recovery so I think that my original vista system with the hardware upgraded and programs is still in my computer somewhere in the recovery disc (D) but I can not understand how to access and I tried.  And if for some reason any I can never access or recover, I would like at least to remove it because it takes up a ton of space on my hard drive.  If anyone can understand what I'm trying to say here, that's where somehow you can help me understand cela stuff?  Thank you for your time.

    Hello

    Gateway put a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall Vista from rather than providing records.

    It's the way it's done now and you are also supposed to make recovery disc from it, that you can not do until you reinstall Vista now.

    If the recovery Partition: D still works, we do not know as you have installation, etc. on this laptop.

    You need to try.

    Reinstall Vista > and then upgrade to Windows 7.

    .

    Here is the information on the bridge for learn you more about reinstalling Vista.

    Full factory for the gateway restore, which you will always be able to use...

    https://support.gateway.com/s/software/Microsof/Vista/7515418/7515418su531.shtml

    And once you reinstall Vista you go to the site of the bridge or from the hardware manufacturer (that you upgraded material initially) Support Web site > download drivers and software Section > equip your laptop model number or the hardware and operating system > and download the latest drivers for the notebook hardware.

    http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=supportnav

    And also when Windows 7 is installed then you will need to go to this same site gateway or the hardware manufacturer (that you upgraded material initially) and download the latest Windows 7 drivers for it also.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    If the recovery partition is damaged ask gateway if they provide the disc of recovery for you.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    "How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html

    See you soon.

    p.s. That's what you should have done before you start the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

    If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

    Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:
