StreamReader refused except administrator access

VS 2010 Premium: Windows Forms Application: installed on Windows 7 64 bit: built with x 86 target (for an embedded com object).

Some image files with StreamReader get "Access denied" error message unless the user runs the application as an administrator.  The user is an administrator on their computer and a network administrator.

Image files have been installed with a different package.  The first use of the images had no problem.  And then, some time after the application is using the image, this question is also surprising.

Var m As System.IO.StreamReader = Nothing

St = New System.IO.StreamReader (strImageFile)

ReturnImage = Image.FromStream (st. BaseStream)

St. Close()

St = Nothing

How to reset the image back to permit to open from the current user?

Effective file permissions don't show no change in permissions.  I don't know how to open the application as an administrator solves different file permissions.  But the application is not able to open the image is certainly a problem.

Thanks for your help.

Found the issue myself.  Properties of Visual Studio, the Security tab, uncheck enable ClickOnce security settings box.  My application has been published previously as a ClickOnce application, and when I opted for installed windows asks the security context was collecting this ClickOnce security settings instead of security expected application installed.

With a used computer recommended is to do a clean install. This is particularly important with a former domain member machine since several strategies group defined on the server will be "tattooed" on the system and make it very difficult to use as a home machine.

If you are unable or refuse to do it (not recommended), you will need to use NTpasswd to change the password for the local administrator to white. Then connect and separate the machine from the network. Create a new user account for yourself and remove any domain user profile. This will not remove policy group that are tattooed and m ost companies also set a default restrictive profile so if that was the case in your user accounts new cases will also be limited.

Download the bootable CD .iso image file, burn with third-party burning software such as free ImgBurn , Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Start with the media that you have created. You need to maybe change the boot order in the BIOS or obtain a menu of boot command temporary with the pressure of a special key. NTpasswd will run. Follow the instructions carefully.

    Hello

    Have work and Workstation 7.1.5 - 491717 fine.  I then uninstall and install 8.0.0 - 471780 or 8.0.2 - 591240

And now, when you try to run VMWare Workstation I get

Fatal error of VMware Workstation (vmui)

I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  If I uninstall 8 and return to 7, it is fine.  Workstation 8 works well on my laptop though.

It is the newspaper that VMware leaves when it crashes.

I have Win7 x 64, 7 Workastation running. I tried to upgrade to Workstation 8 (30 days trial) and ran into the same problem.

For me it turns out be related to my "Favorites". I finally got it works by moving the "C:\Users\johna\AppData\Roaming\VMware\favorites.vmls" file out of the folder it is (temporarily) then started VMWare. This time, he began. Once launched, it genearted a new file called "inventory.vmls", I then landed my file in the folder, just in case I need to return to Workstation7.

I guess you might be able to accomplish the same thing by removing all your Favorites, but I don't know.

Hope this helps someone with this problem.

  • Administrator access denied

I just bought a new processor with Vista Home Premium.  I only created an account to administrator so far.  I am trying to install Pinnacle Studio (9.0 and more).  When I attempt to load the software tells me that I need administrator access.  I am in the aminstrator account and when I go to create an account screen, it recognizes that I have these rights.  Any ideas?

    Hi lynn4321,

According to Pinnacle database solution, version 9 of the Studio is not compatible with Windows Vista.

    Pinnacle and Windows Vista

They however offer a discount paid upgrade to version 12 which is Windows Vista certified.

Update and Support options for older versions of Studio (version 1, 7, 8, 9 and 10)

If you get this error even install any other software, please let us know and we will be happy to help you.

  • Administrator access problems to change files.

I upgraded from vista Home premium 64-bit for win 7 Home premium 64-bit and am logged into my main account and it says administrator under my name, but when I go to edit some files it does not do and says I need administrator access to say COMPUTERNAME\MYUSERNAME.  I make sure that I am logged into my account, but it doesn't let me do anything.  Help, please.

    Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft answers site

If logged in as an administrator, there could be some files that require the possession.
To change the files you must have the owner of a protected file to access. If another user has restricted access and you are the computer administrator, you can access the file to appropriate.

To take ownership of a file, follow these steps:
1 right click on the file you want to take control and then click Properties.
    2. click on the Security tab and then click OK in the security message (if one appears).
    3. click on advanced and then click the owner tab.
    4. in the name list, click Administrator, or click the Administrators group, and then click OK.

The administrator or the Administrators group now owns the file.

To change the permissions on the file that you now own, follow these steps:

    1. click on Add.
2 in the enter the object names to select (examples) list, type the user or group account that you want to have access to the file. For example, type administrator.
    3. click on OK.
    4. in the group or user names list, click the account you want, and then select the check boxes of the permissions you want to assign to this user.
    5. When you are finished to assign permissions, click OK.

    6. you can now access the file.

For more information, you can check: -.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-access-denied-when-opening-files-or-folders
Note: The steps are for windows XP. However, you can give a try for windows vista and windows 7

    It may be useful

    Hi PhilippD!

It seems that you have reached a vice that crept into the manipulation of workstation s 9.0.2' of remote USB devices.  We have fixed the problem in our internal versions of workstation, but until an updated version is made public, it seems that you need to roll back to the workstation 9.0.1 if you need to work around the problem.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation) occurred

I still encounter the error "Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation) has occurred." and then my VM crashes.  I moved the VM to two different hard drives (SSD and hard drive) and the error still occurs.  I also added an exclusion to my virus protection to exclude all of the VM image disk resides on.  Still no luck.  He goes from 5 to 20 minutes after I start the virtual machine.

I added the last few log files and dmp.  I'd appreciate any help people can provide.  I spent days trying to find and solve the problem without success yet.

    Thank you.

    San Jose, CA

    Hi Larry,

Thanks for the update.  Unfortunately I'm pretty out of direct measures to deal with the crash.  I can see the most recent newspaper that you have updated the drivers, but still, it crashed in exactly in the same place.

A few quick observations and an indirect approach in case they are useful:

-Your virtual machine is configured for a client Windows Vista x 64, but his name suggests that it is Windows 7 x 64.  If it is really Windows 7 x 64, you should probably go to VM > settings > Optionsand under the guest operating system, choose the Version: Windows 7 x 64.  It is unlikely that it will affect the crash of graphics, but it is generally advisable to ensure that the good guest what OS is chosen even when.

-If your VM does not need high performance 3D graphics, you might be able to work around the problem by disabling hardware acceleration of graphics 3D in VM > settings > hardware > display, clear 3D graphic acceleration.

-If the accident happens at seemingly arbitrary moments once the virtual machine boots, it might be a graphic 3D Screensaver inside the guest who is causing the problem... (?).  If so, try disabling the screensaver of the guest OS.

    Good luck!

  • Fatal error VMware Workstation: (vmx) Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation)

I have a laptop that contains the image of a vmware Workstation for Windows 6 user). The machine died and was not recoverable, so I managed to recover the

image with a linux live cd and install it on another identical laptop.

The image was suspended at the time of the accident.

Now when I try to take it back, I get the error message - fatal error VMware Workstation: (vmx) Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation)

Image settings are grayed out so I can't edit the material (I have read one or two other positions where material caused this message).

I have attached the log files and dump. If someone could shed some light on this subject, it would be great.

    Hello

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

What version of Trinidad you trying to use? It is possible that requires a newer version of JEE is provided by WebLogic 10.3.

  • How is is updated product without administrator access on Windows 7?

I clicked on the update for Firefox v19.0.2 last night on a Windows 7 laptop.

Everything else on the laptop is the current version.

I was logged in as a user who does not have admin access to install anything on the laptop. I was expecting the dialog box appears asking me to enter an admin password to allow changes on the laptop.

This dialog never appeared, but the update has been completed successfully and Firefox shows the latest version on the subject...

How is - that bypass you the security on my laptop?

I'm afraid that if you can do it, so can everyone else out there. I thought that I was protected from things being installed on my computer without my permission...

How do I protect myself against unauthorized in the future changes?

    Thank you for your help,

    Megan Everett

12 Firefox and use it later service preferred Windows to update Firefox without having to enter an administrative password. See article blog next for the full explanation:
