• Touch screen not working not not after upgrade from 8.1 to win

  I have a PC HP Envy product number X 2 C2K61UA #ABA now Win 8.1 32 bit running. After the upgrade is installed, the screen no longer meets a contact. On the other hand, the touchpad works.

  I just went through this process on my own want of X 2 and the touch screen is OK after the upgrade.

  Something that I've done that maybe makes the difference: I have day all driver sets for Windows 8.1 before the upgrade.  Pilots have been out for awhile; the drivers for the 8.1 are also compatible with Windows 8 update was possible before installing the Windows 8.1 operating system.

  I had also stripped most of my personal computer programs: I refresh the system using a customized several months back Image, which included only a relatively bare installation and installation of Microsoft Office standard packages.  I left installed HP SimplePass (I use a device of fingerprinter USB with this computer) and my photo editing software that has been designed for Windows 7 which was SO painful to install that I decided to take the risk of letting up.   Those who survived.

  The stripped upgrade Firefox and Chrome (no biggie), Flash, Kindle, various programs and the old OneDrive files the installer for Windows 8 and a couple of obsolete Broadcom drivers.

  • If you not already have, update all your drivers from the website of media from your computer.  You can always reinstall the drivers - if they have already been installed, you can select "Yes to all" and reinstall / reload the packages during the installation.  Restart the computer after installation.
  • You must run also immediately the Windows updates to 8.1 after the upgrade - there is not zillions of updates, but there are several critical fixes that you do not want to get on the system.

  • If you find that the question is one of the 'lost files', structure pilot, lost 'something' - lost-at so you can get in C:\Windows.old offending data / missing.  You have 28 days from the date of the upgrade.  I'm not sure of the type of 'time bomb' built into the data - you might be able to actually prevent lost data by copying to an external drive if you really want to keep.

• MDT 2013 Thinkpad Yoga 12 - WinPE boot problems

  We have two models of Thinkpad Yoga and use the same ethernet USB dongle to run MDT and their image with Win 8.1.

  Type 20 c 0 works very well. When we arrived the 20DK of a new type, we had some problems with our image of fat because of the different hardware profile and we weren't using a configuration of total control for drivers on our MDT.

  I created a new MDT installation on a virtual machine and I use the method of total control of the management of drivers by model. I have a profile of selection for winPE and imported the drivers of storage and network for both models (x 64 only, we don't have any x 86). I tried initially the USB3 Ethernet adapter driver I found under downloads for the 20 c model 0 but have tried since the upload of pack pilot SCCM and other I found specifically for the adapter realtek and SCCM, but nothing has changed. The current versions of pilot in my winpe folder are 8.15.0701.2014 and 8.8.0911.2013. Have updated the deployment share, copied the contents of the x 64 folder and copied the litetouchx64.wim in the sources on our USB startup folder and renamed to boot.wim.

  Currently on the 20DK I get the initial screen for MDT spash with blue background, but before any connection charges of screen I get the blue screen of crash with error (ndis.sys) System_thread_exception_not_handled. I guess I do know for sure that it is a problem of network driver but because it fails before the same connection to the deployment share it led me to believe that this was the case. I tried to turn off 3 USB mode in the bios to see if this will have an impact, and he didn't.

  The 20 c 0 still works fine and I was able successfully to the image (from my old wim of fat that I copied from my old server mdt)

  Completed up to add all the drivers for this model in the folder of WinPE drivers and who took care of her.

  I have developed a small program DAQ in LabView (2013) for a "quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS) Extrel" using the very nice company LabView driver provided.

  The mobile developer is a win7 x 64 system with LabView2013 Pro. The soft Extrel is installed, the portable computer can communicate with the instrument of Ms. The program works on the mobile developer of its VI, from the EXE version and I also did a version of the installer and it works too.

  The portable target is also win7 x 64 with no LabView installed. I have included the LabView2013 execution engine in the first version of my Installer, and I installed it on the target computer.

  When I run the program installed, it launches the native software from 'ExtrelMerlin' as it should be, but from that point to the structure of the event (see the sample driver: 'Panel_Tune Display.vi', 'ScanDataCluster': the value changes in the event structure) which should get the data (for example in every 2 sec) driver is not triggered , the program hangs, and when I go out there, it closes without error...

  I have some info about this driver from LV:

  • The pilot project LabVIEW uses event callback functions to retrieve information from the Automation Server COM Merlin. This feature is not available in the Base of the LabVIEW Development System. You need the complete development system LabVIEW to run this project.
  • The LabVIEW driver uses Merlin Automation COM Server (which will be installed and configured in the configuration of the installation of the software of automation of Merlin) to access data analysis and instrument control. A custom DLL (\Extrel MerlinLV\Public\Bin\ Extrel.LVDataAdapter.dll) is used by VI files to convert data COM to compatible data types LabVIEW structures.

  In the compilation of my installer options, I see that "Extrel.LVDataAdapter.dll" is registered in the dependencies. I wonder why my installed program can obtain data from the COM server on the laptop of developer (with the dev. environment LV 2013 Pro), but not on the laptop with the runtime target of...? I should explicitly include the dll in the build options? Given that the portable target only engine of execution installed?

  I got it, the experianced bug is related to some subVIs depending on the environment in the LabView project, which came from the company:

  1. the LabView code begins to get data of spectrum at each scan time that after setting some parameters via LabView in the mass spectrometer software. I'm not in depth, why it works like this, but that's what I know.

  2. so I realized that when I raise an event, what should define a parameter in the native MS software via a chain drive macro (sending a string on MS software through the driver interface) is not it. I checked the format of the string, which is sent to the external software of LV, and I started hitting my head on the table...

  The programmer who developed the code did not have the double number--> regio of conversion of digital channel independent. Since the spectrometer of the native software only accepts the string macro with numbers command using the decimal point, the software just couldn't interpret it command as valid because the laptop targets had German Windows with ',' decimal mark... The laptop the developer had English settings, so he worked there.

  I have a number of customers with machines that are fully licensed with XP, XPe or Vista.
  Each of these clients have a device that we have created, piloted by drivers custom within the OS.  The operating system will sometimes funny (corruption, etc.) causing the device to not function.
  I decided to create a diagnostic utility to check whether the fault is in the operating system, driver or device.  Because the fault could be deep in the operating system, the only way I can see to do is through WinPE
  I searched the net, but can do not seem to arrive at an acceptable legitimate answer... So here's my question.
  If I create a WinPE 2.0 distribution, either for CD, USB or chain loaded from Linux (Syslinux or PXElinux) which will take place on one of the machines running 'something Microsoft' what are the implications of license? Is it legal?
  Operating system licenses are not owned by us, but our customers if we do not have mass of licensing agreements or something like that.
  The plan is to create a unique distribution and add drivers to it that we encounter different machines.  I know it's frowned upon to speak Hirens on a MS site, but something similar to that (I won't use Hirens because I want that it is completely legitimate)

• Pilot of the AGENA

  I've written in the past weeks I have been troubleshooting a LabVIEW 8.6 program to control our Agilent E5071C ENA.  The program is designed for calibration of the Network Analyzer (measure calibration data and calculate the calibration factor) and store the State of the instrument after calibration.  I used the AGENA (AGilent ENA) driver to write the program.

  Here's my problem: the program works perfectly until the "Measure of calibration Data.vi" command is executed for the first through cal.  In other words, that same VI appears six times before in the program (for short, open and load on a callus of two ports) and produces no error.  When he tries to run the cal through, I can look at the ENA screen as he sweeps, but when scanning for the first through cal is complete, the device gives me a '-420: interview UNTERMINATED ' error, thus stopping the program.

  I have been through the intestines of the individual VI wrote in the pilot of the AGENA and cannot identify any errors in the coding of GPIB.  I have a cross reference of all the strings in the driver against what ENA programming manual.  The error-420 me references to 6.3.2 IEEE488.2, someone has access to it?

  After a lot of hard work, I gave in and called the district sales manager for my region (Jorge Noguera, San Diego) to schedule a help session.  Long story short, here's what is scheduled for:

  "Calibration Data.vi measure" in a case that is selectable by the user for what standard to use solution (open, short, charge, through, isolation).  This VI needs to be changed.  After 'agena Write.vi' create another case structure before the agena "Wait For Complete.vi of operation."  Inside of the place of the case structure a flat sequence with a 'Wait (ms)' command - set the command queue to 5000.  In the structure of the case selector label refer to '3' (the same case that corresponds to the cal by standard) for the case with the wait command.  Wire the switch case for the control of Word unsigned for the case of the pre-existing structure selector case (which sets the standard cal).  Thus, when the cal standard value through, the structure cases wait is implemented after the agena write VI.

• Masters folder structure and iCloud limiting.

  Recently tried to return to the Photos to see how it feels with Sierra and using a program which produces extensions that I love for external editing of photo editing. I am wanting to integration through devices, iPads, iPhones, etc.

  I imported my images, 260 GB so and 35,000 points and created a new library. Out of curiosity I watched the masters record and it has the usual structure up to the date on which I imported the but they are all in a single folder (the date of importation). Although they were from many files, I did just pictures of my library of images. It is a library which dates back to 2001 or more. (I don't have a solid backup in place plan...)

  Nothing to worry where crack down and get on with it? Seems to work OK so I guess it does what it should?

  Also, sort of limit using iCloud, I bought 200 GB, but would rather the last year is observed in the cloud, if possible.

  For the moment, iCloud is disabled for photos and he strives to do what he does on the external hard drive.

  Masters record is not organized by the date of the photo capture, but the date of the session of import - year, month, day of the import.  It was the same in Aperture and iPhoto. So, if you have imported the photos on the same day, they will be in the same folder.

  It would be different, if you migrated an existing iPhoto or Aperture library. The masters should then represent the import of previous sessions, but rebuild the library can change that.

  All the photos in the photo library of the system will download to iCloud, if you enable iCloud photo library.  More than one library allows to limit the upload selected photos.   So I started just literally using Mozilla Thunderbird to manage several emails. But there's something bothering me since my switch from my previous E-mail: the structure of the list of messages.

  I use Outlook Hotmail for my emails. In Outlook, Hotmail: The messages appear like the image below.
  Whereas, in Thunderbird, it is a horizontal line that looks very cringy and is not as instructive.

  Is there a way to make it look like the approach of Outlook/Hotmail?

  Nope, that was the last attempt of whoever does make it possible on the list for years, was rejected by Mozilla. So it will be years before we get it probably are a replacement for Mozilla XUL should be found.

• Organize referenced Structure file

  I have a very large 350 GB + Aperture library and I've been avoiding switching, but I think it might be time.  Last year, I went to a library that is managed in a reference library.  However, when I made the passage the folder structure I used in Aperture doesn't have cary Finder.  I was not bothered by it, but I know realize it could be a big problem when I finally happening.

  My Aperture library is organized with folders that divide the year in winter, spring, fall, was of the same year, then each file has projects, and some projects have Albums (normally a Best Of album).  When I moved to managed to referenced it exports all projects, but I lost the enveloping folder indicating the season/year and I lost Albums within projects.

  Is it possible to rebuild a library referenced with a different file structure?

  Should I go back to Managed and then try to switch back to referenced with different parameters?

  Any help is greatly appreciated!

  You can move the original files referenced to different folders with the command "file > move original.

  To keep your files and projects such as cloasely as possible, manually create seasonal records: it will be a bit of work, however.

  For example, to create a year 2000 folder, with subfolders spring, summer, and then select all photos in Aperture in the 2000 folder > spring in Aperture. Now, use "file > move original" and use the "Project name" subfolder format and export to the 2000 folder > spring.  This will create a subfolder in this folder for each project.

  Continue to do this for all your folders every years and seasons.

• Additions to iCloud Photos from PC photo, the structure of files lost during the synchronization process.

  Media stream issue, charging/sync from my PC, photos are not in any kind of folder structure, all the photos are uploaded to the album pictures in iCloud. I have a folder structure in my Uploads folder on my PC, I was expecting this folder structure to be mirrored in the field of the Albums of Photos in iCloud.

  In addition, I see no way to sort photos by file name in new albums, I have create! Are my expectations too? I hope I forgot something so simple it will be clearly obvious when someone points it out.

  I had a lot of problems with thunderbird and get rather annoyed now.

  So I exported my emails using the export option and chose the option of structured files. I have also exported in an eml file.

  I created a new profile and you want to import the messages I've exported but can't find anything. If I try to import that I can only import Outlook which is obsolete now.

  I found tons of posts on how to export pictures from Photos, but clearly an important feature is missing. How to export one or more folders, subfolders, and albums to the breast?

  I need on a regular basis (read: scripted) to export all my photos for use on another platform. But I need to keep my organized all files as they are in the pictures.

  Anyone know of a script that can do this? Opening could [R.I.P].

• Opening, using Relocator and rest with my project structure

  I use Relocator to move my photos 'managed' Aperture library to be "referenced".  However, now I have to do a project at a time.  I can't get Relocator to work on multiple projects and maintain my project structure.  When I tried it, I put the subfolder 'project' format and the format of the name to "original file name.    It did not work as planned, he put each photo in its own folder.  So now in the format of subfolder 'custom name' and provide the name of the project.  This seems to be the only way to keep my existing structure.   My existing structure is the name of the event and the date, for example the Blizzard Dec 2008.    Any tips or suggestions?  I have pictures of 70 K to move! Going to take some time do this project!  Thanks in advance!
