Stubborn Updater

I am running 64-bit Windows Vista Edition Home Premium with Service Pack 1 on my HP Pavilion dv7t-1000.  I don't know why I had not noticed it before, but I checked my update history and found that my computer has been a failure to download Windows updates since February.  It's weird since there is a final transition - everything before this date has been a success and everything that follows does not, so I currently have last update 16 uninstalled.  Anyway, the problem comes before the download starts and gives me the error 80246008.

Unfortunately, none of the usual methods were able to solve this problem.  In the 'services' under 'administrative tools' window, PIECES is not displayed (so I can't turn on or off), I restarted the Windows event log service, nothing helps, I tried with Windows Firewall and Avast antivirus both on, all two off and a stop at a point, I'm not as any other firewall or a antivirus software that I know I'm not running any accelerator I know I added update.microsoft.com and windowsupdate.microsoft.com to my "trusted sites", my "hosts" file contains only two entries (127.0.0.1 localhost and: 1 localhost), I tried running 'proxycfg d' on the command line, but got the message that this was not a command recognized, and I ran the program depending on whether I have pasted into Notepad and saved as a batch file , but after each line, the program comes out, I get the message "access denied."

Well, wow, I'm impressed that I don't usually get as much information from the first post!

So, either you are using bad form while clicking the mouse or we need your working FORESTS.

I'll opt for the latter.

Please open services. Type 'services' in the search bar above the ORB start and press ENTER.

Find the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and make sure that it says "on the road". If it is not started, start it and make sure it is set to automatic.

If it does not start, check the dependencies or obtain the error message for us.

If it is all working properly, then we get the logs of running events too. I think that if that does not work it may cause updates of not too much.

While in the service Viewer, scroll down to "Windows Error Reporting Service". I turn it on and the 'Windows event collector"and"Windows event log"and set them all to 'automatic '.

If you are still having problems, do a "clean boot" and try to update. Here is the link for the instructions.

One last thing, run "ipconfig/flushdns" and reboot.

    After several weeks and a little help from MS, I can now updates to d/l win7 and I want to share my solution. I have win 7, 64 bit and had not been able to d/l since Sept/2010 approximately.

    I have ex-athletes I had deleted the free Avira antivirus program at that time and went to Avira site found I do not clear my registry entirely. So I d/l their registry cleaning and deleted 3 entries related to Avira. Got an immediate notification of 47 updates for a total of 355 MB and managed to d/l and installed almost half of them. But him still got really stubborn, until I turned off windows firewall and then had only minor problem to install the rest. Need to do this gradually but by unchecking a few lots in.

    So check on any antivirus programs you may have deleted and see if the site offers programs of 'cleaning up' because they can be responsible for your problems. Don't forget to turn your firewall back on though... the guys bestaluck

  • Update KB982214 repeatedly fails to install (Windows 7)

    I was offered KB982214 daily since August and it has so far failed to install. Other updates have succeeded, including readiness system, but this one tool refuses stubbornly, even with manual installation. Error 800b0100 code.

    My system is Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium installed again and with all updates. I use AVG Anti-virus and firewall Zone Alarm.

    Does anyone have any ideas on this? How important is this particular update?

    Try to download and install the update manually after placing the computer in a clean boot state.

    Reset the computer to start as usual

    When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • Updates to Windows when the stop stuck on #13 of 41 10 + hours... help?

    I just bought a new laptop ASUS N61JQ - X 1 and received yesterday. It was working fine as I was downloading progams/move the new music, photos and documents on. Then at about 19:00 I stop the laptop I saw the symbol saying that you had to install the updates. There are 41 of them, and they were all fine, until it reached 13 at about 07:30. I left the laptop on overnight to allow updates to be completed, but as I woke at about 05:30 updates were STILL on 13. I have force-tap turned off the laptop and rebooted updates to find this morning at 8:30 it was still 13 after that he has known the other 12 again.

    Is there another way to install updates separately, so I can avoid this and get rid of the symbol? I have Windows 7 Home.

    My way is to do not have updated completely automatic - but let me decide when I dll and install.

    I'm running WIN7 so my way may not work, but it does on "Rot" and XP.

    I take note of all the KB numbers in yellow do check what are the same on offer on a custom in the home page search Windows Update - note security/critical KB numbers - then I go to the pages of security update MS.

    Enter each KB, select the one for my system and save on the desktop or the disc.

    Once I got them all, I disconnect the net, close all programs running, disable realtime AV etc and restart the computer.

    I then install one or two at a time in the order according to the yellow shield, then restart, whether requested or not.

    So I check in the Panel control/add-remove [don't know what it's WIN7] and also check the log file.

    If everything is OK again uintil all are installed - then turn all the safety devices in real time, reconnect with the net and back to the homepage updated Win - make a custom search and see if it is left.

    If the yellow shield shows yet another reboot it erases generally.

    It IS a long way from round, but for almost 4 years now, I have had only a handful refuse to install.  A published fix later or help here in the forums has solved all those stubborn - I've never had to go to the below -.

  • Cannot use Windows Update, firewall, Live games. Suspects of virus?

    I am currently using an Alienware M17x and there are a few problems.

    Recently, I downloaded a game requiring a signature in Windows Live games and order I had to update the client. However, Games for Windows Live could not update and gave me an error code of 0 x 80070424. I also got this same error code when I tried to turn on the firewall in pressinng the button "Use recommended settings" in the control panel > system and security > Windows Firewall page.

    I then tried to manually install the Games for Windows Live client, but he couldn't do it because 'a required Windows component is disabled on your machine. I checked the fix for this problem in the Microsoft Web site, and he asked me to locate the "Background Intelligence Transfer Service' in my services, which has proven to be missing. Also, the automatic update service disappeared.

    Another problem that I recently noticed was that audio files randomly the movies will begin playing while my computer is running. I first thought that it was a website or popup while I was surfing the net, but I closed all the programs I was running, and the noise continued to play. Goose bumps...

    I did some reading, and the closest thing I can relate to this is the Conficker Virus, but I hope that it is something more easy to remove...

    Any help is greatly appreciated, because this virus seems to be the stubborn type!

    You may need to restore the factory settings, so be sure to back up any data you want to save while you still can.  In the meantime, here are some things you can try.

    Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

  • Refreshing data in return of a stubborn workflow (popup)

    I have a main page that calls a taskflow bounded as a popup. One of the actions is a workflow bounded to add a line in a VO that is used in the home page.

    After you add a line in the VO in the stubborn workflow, the workflow is completed. Unfortunately, the table in the home page is not updated to show the new line added.

    I tried the following techniques to update the table in the home page, without a bit of luck:

    1. Add call action to run the executewithparams in the page to refresh the VO.

    2. added run method to run executewithparams in the stubborn workflow.

    Any suggestion?

    I don't think you should call executeQuery once again because the same view object is used on the home page and the popup.

    What are the properties of the delimited taskflow transaction to view the pop-up window? Are you sharing the data controls with the workflow calling for the popup?

    In addition, if you share the data controls, you can try to refresh the iterator binding (by table) instead, run the query again.

    I have a table. In a context menu of the table, a user uses a menu command to launch a workflow task merely as inline popup dialog box, which allows them to alter certain data associated with the selected line. It all works very well.

    What I'm trying to understand, that's how I trigger a refresh of partial page on the table once the workflow returned and the dialog box closes. I tried to call a support as target bean method of the "listener after" for the call activity of workflow that call the stubborn workflow, which calls AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance () .addPartialTarget (table), but which did not cause a refresh of the table. I waited a bit that would be the case.

    So, what event can I link at the right time in order to update the table?

    Hi, after closing a stubborn workflow open in a modal window expression

    BindingContainer DCBindingContainer is getLovFieldBinding () .getBindingContainer ();.

  • Since update 10.0.2 at 6s "trash all ' in the Inbox.

    Since I did the update (10.0.2) I can no longer just "trash all ' mail inbox (Verizon).  Because I get emails 300 + a day, I need to be able to empty my Inbox easily without deleting all of them individually.  It is very irritating and time consuming.

    Anyway around this?  Thank you...

    Try to get itunes working to make a backup of my faulty iphone before repair.

    First-itunes does not start says error. I'm trying to fix it, who said success but same error when you try to start it.

    Then uninstall completely worked. Then reinstall that seemed to be over except for a message "an older version of Apple software update already exists" then he went down and install itunes apparently had not been completed.

    Then I try to remove the update from the apple software and executed by an error in the installation program - it says there is an error in the installation and contact the supplier of the installation package. Same error if I run the uninstall command line program.

    Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • Since the update for Sierra, contacts do not appear in Messages - just phone numbers.

    Since the update for Sierra, Messages no longer displays Contact names - only phone numbers.  No instructions on how to remedy this.  Ideas?

    Go into the Contacts application and ensure that it uses the same account synchronization like the iPhone and other devices you may be using.

    Also check the part of the accounts of the Contacts application preferences and make sure that it's only using one account.

  • Problem after update 10.0.2 iOS iPhone touchscreen

    After I have updated to iOS 10.0.2, I noticed a problem with the touch screen. Using the position of the image on the right side, near the corner, the toushscreen does not work.

  • USB disabled after the update of the Sierra (a short circuit and a work)

    Hi, when I bought my mbp 13 inches mid2012 (used, not new) I noticed that a USB port did not work. In the Yosemite sometimes I noticed that a USB port consumed too much energy and have been disabled. (I think because the usb port has been short-circuited. Year when it was time to update the mbp to El Capitan I had a few panic the kernel and the newspaper was shown as the last driver loaded the USB driver, so I kept the mbp with Yosemite. A few days ago, I updated for Sierra but only usb which used to work stopped working. It has enabled and turned on but Finder and disk utility does not see the drive. In an Apple dealer they said that could be established relationships with some oxide and next week will take it and see what the problem is.

    If there is someone with the same problems, please tell me what to do! I don't want to put in the trash my mac just for a flash drive... but I need!

    Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. Based on what you said, it appears as a USB device is not recognized in one of the USB ports. There are a few things that can cause this. I recommend you read these articles, which may be able to help solve the problem.
