stupid Yahoo toolbar!

I installed it inadvertently installing Messenger.

now, when I go to 'Tools '->' Add-ons', which shows the page to the top completely empty (as if I have NO addons, when I have a lot) so I can't remove it like this.
and it is not in "Add/Remove Programs".

ideas?

Paradive Hello, this sounds like the files in your profile folder that store the information on your extensions could be damaged.

You can access the addon - manager when you start in safe mode rirefox once?

Otherwise please go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile - display folder... then windows Explorer should open your profile folder. there looking for files named extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite, extensions.sqlite - journal (and in some cases also extensions.txt, extensions.rdf). delete or rename the files and quit firefox, they will be regenerated the next time you start firefox.

  • Foxfire keeps blocking my Yahoo toolbar; have reinstalled several times

How can I keep Foxfire to block my Yahoo toolbar. I reinstalled SEVERAL times, but it keeps blocking as soon as I close Foxfire. I tried all the options listed in the other questions and answers, but they do not solve the problem. Whenever I have download the Yahoo toolbar, Foxfire blocks it ~ ~ ~ and it won't allow me to unlock. I use Foxfire because Yahoo forced me to convert about a year ago, my only reason to be with Foxfire is because he takes care of Yahoo. I don't know it that is the problem, but I am still using Windows XP and I have no intention to move to 7 and more - there are too many problems with them.

This was probably disabled in the update of Firefox because it's an unsigned add-on. Automatically disabled Firefox addons unsigned for the safety of the user.

Please visit these sections of Mozilla for more information on addons unsigned and how allowed them:

Warning: The steps above may present a security risk. Please use with caution and at your own risk.

Please consider notifying the proponent of the addon on the issue, so that they can get their addon signed as soon as possible.

I get a msg one or several add ons cannot be verified and have been disabled. I don't know what that means. I'm not a computer person. I have the toolbar, but after I log off and back on then it is the appearance of msg.

    Follow-up:
The Add-on from Yahoo toolbar has been updated. The latest version corrects the problem. If you have set the preference xpinstall.signatures.required to false in the Editor of Configuration of Firefox (topic: config page) as a workaround, you can go back now and reset the preference to true.

  • Lost my Yahoo Toolbar with the latest update of firefox (v43.0.1), he can't find anywhere.

Tried to reinstall; Firefox tries to block, but I click "allow installation." After that Yahoo Toolbar re - install it says to restart Firefox. After you restart Firefox toolbar is still not anywhere. Not found in Tools/Add-ons, or anywhere. More Yahoo https://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ site always tells me that my toolbar is updated; but, still, I can't find it anywhere! Is the latest version of the toolbar Yahoo is NOT compatible with the new version of Firefox?
    Thank you.

Thanks for your persistence and report back. I don't know why sometimes the prefs.js file becomes locked and uneditable, but looks like it was the main problem.

  • Firefox won't let me have the yahoo toolbar

I lost my yahoo and the toolbar file. I downloaded a new yahoo mozilla toolbar and I thought that would solve the problem. I managed to recover the file toolbar. Today when I went on line he said without adding on a were will. So I don't always have the yahoo toolbar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not a computer person

Hi, try this signed Yahoo Toolbar add-on.

If you still have the menu bar of Firefox (with file on that), then right-click in the tab bar - but not on a tab, and then select menu bar.

  • The following extensions are always safe to use with Firefox? Yahoo toolbar, McAfee WebAdvisor & Skype click on call

I had these extensions installed since February 2015, when I bought my new computer. They always worked very well, but this morning I noticed that each say, «McAfee WebAdvisor/Skype Click-to-Call/Yahoo Toolbar could not be verified for use in Firefox.» Proceed with caution. All of these extensions have been download from their respective Web sites. Should I worry about this?

In the future, Firefox refuses to run unsigned extensions. However, the first step being taken in Firefox 40 is to warn you that you have a little so you can check the updates and/or inform the Publisher of this impending problem.

I'm sure that these three companies are aware of this change. What they need to do, is to submit their Add-ons for Mozilla for review and signature sometime before Firefox 41 is available and no doubt they will be.

If they are not, please complain to them!

  • I can't download the yahoo toolbar. Help.

I had installed yahoo toolbar and then I lost it all when trying to install Windows 10. I put Mozilla back on my laptop, but when I try to download the yahoo toolbar the message came that there is a connection problem (it was after that Firefox says it will not install it). The site that I tried to download is https://toolbar.yahoo.com/?.intl=us. No luck. Help, please.

I don't know why but some users cannot install toolbars to Web sites of third parties (such as Yahoo and LastPass) when the original download URL is redirected to another URL.

In this case, it starts like:

    https://us.toolbar.Yahoo.com/_ylt=AkypkOgcRYp9hr2TbG1teUc0RAUJ?.Intl=us & .redir = 1 & .cpdl = tyc9 & .promo = & sethomesearch = 0

But the server redirects to Firefox:

    https://SXP.yimg.com/EI/toolbar/IE/yahootoolbar-3.2.11.20150226051211_intl-_sc-_pc-_DC-.xpi

If you can not understand what blocks Firefox follow the redirect and fix this, you can download the toolbar using another browser. You can save the file as in downloads, for example. Then you can load it in Firefox using one of the following methods:

    • Drag and drop the file as on a Firefox tab open
    • On the addons page (Ctrl + Shift + a or tools > Add-ons), click the "gear" above the list of extensions/plugins and choose "install module file".
