Stupidly I deleted my itunes library to free memory space to make my pc faster. No work! Can I access my original files to get it back?

Course, they are gone for ever, hopeing someone always has the brain that I did not! Trash removed and emptied. Is there a chance I can recall? Took 2 years to put all the stuff on and I can't be ass again!

Help most appreciated!

Hello

Deleted files are not really "deleted" at all.

Deleted files are not really deleted. Most file systems only remove the link to the data.

But the new data subsequently crushes them; so stop using that computer for everyday use that the chances of recovering data drop more you use.

You can try this free program to attempt to recover:

  • How can we increase the free memory space for application requiring more memory on OS 64 - bit Windows 7 Professional?

How can you increase storage space free for a request that need more than 2 GB of memory on a 64 - bit Windows 7 professional OS?

    I guess it's a 32-bit application; a 64-bit application would have a 8 TB virtual address space.

A 32-bit application can be given to a 4 GB virtual address space if it is marked with the IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE flag. This is usually accomplished in conjunction with the indicator of this option .

  • How can I recover iTunes library on an external hard drive

Stupidly I deleted my iTunes library earlier today and fight to get it back. (All purchased songs always appear but all songs imported from CDs are gone). I deleted the library and then empty the trash. I have a update on my external hard drive last night so hope I can restore my library iTunes from my external hard drive, but can't get it. Have tried, as a result of aid, online articles, but I do not get any further...

So far, I saved my iTunes backup folder on my desktop iMac. There was a suggestion to open iTunes, while holding down the SHIFT key (keyboard of Windows) and this should allow me to create a new library or open an existing one - none of these options appeared, my result was iTunes open normally and showing all my purchased songs. The other suggestion is to open iTunes - file - Library - Library to import the backup file, but also no results.

It seems it should be easy but... not for me to do something. Can anyone offer advice that does not suggest that I have to re - import all the music?

    Thanks in advance

The file that you must replace is located in the following location.

    / Users/USERNAME/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music

Just replace the one on your Mac with the library you want. Don't forget, it's only music, not any what other apps, videos etc., if you want to replace it, replace the entire iTunes Media.

  • Delete the iPhoto library?

I just noticed that I have a migrated iPhoto Library with 76 GB last opening in April 2015.

The photo library occupies about 90 GB and update.

Can I delete the old library to free up space which could be just a left over after the upgrade for the Photos?

Yes, the media files are hardlinked, so it won't make anywhere near as much space as it appears, it will be. In addition, you will not be able to reopen the iPhoto library.

  • IPod Classic (and iTunes library) from Windows to Mac

Hey ppl, can someone help me with this one?
My iPod Classic was initially connected to a PC, because I didn't have a Mac at the time. But I an and for a long time, and now I'm about to get a second.
I was put in place with the PC mostly because my iTunes library has nearly 500 stored cd and I use my iMac only for work, I didn't want to fill his 500 GB drive with iTunes library. But now that I'm about to take my work to a new Mac, I thought that it was time to move my iTunes library to Mac, and I did it with the help of an external hard drive.

Now, everything is ok with iTunes on Mac all the CDs and the works of art and library moved nicely.

But when I connected the iPod it syncs ok, but does not receive a new cd that I just uploaded on the Mac.

I have noticed that an already existing CD which I modified the work on the Mac, sync ok for the iPod, but not the new CD. The CD is an original, not a copy.
I think it has to do with the iPod having been registered to another computer. I allow them the Mac, but still the CD is not transferred to the iPod.
I want to get rid of my PC, but I need the iPod to work with the Mac.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing, or doing wrong?
    Thank you

I had checked the discussions over and over again before posting the question and do not find an answer, and now after posting the question, I found what solved my problem - iPod sync fine with the Mac. (to goodbye PC)

"Kenichi Watanabe 26 February 2016 06:04 Re: Ipod connects to itunes, but does not synchronize "
    in reply to Umphreys21

OK, that's fine.  So, just what is currently on the iPod is already in your new library iTunes, correct?

When you start with a new iTunes library and add your existing content, the iPod sees it as a new iTunes library, not the old one that was previously used to synchronize the iPod.  The partners from iPod to your new iTunes library and the Tower WE Auto Sync, follow these steps...

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to display the parameters of the iPod in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music.  This turns ON Auto Sync (and associate the iPod to your new iTunes library).  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Click apply.

On a separate note, since you started with a new iTunes library, you have added all your content to your backup, but you probably do not have the additional data (such as playlists, ratings, play head, date added, etc.).  Depending on how you have saved your iTunes data, it may be possible to restore your full (not only your media) iTunes library.  You need to be good with the help of your new iTunes library, but if you want more information, thanks for posting back. »

    So thanks Kenichi Watanabe

  • Lost iTunes Library - CAN not rebuild. Help!

Tonight I thought I had lost most of my iTunes library. It turns out that I didn't have that I can find the content itself, but iTunes can't see it. So, I followed the instructions here to try to resolve the problem: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203225

It did not work. I found myself with some of my content. Most of my music, none of my TV or movies (and no, these were not bought through iTunes)

I then tried to rebuild my iTunes Library with these instructions: http://www.mcelhearn.com/how-to-rebuild-your-itunes-library/

    It did not work also.

So, I was wondering if I should completely remove iTunes from my iMac, the re - install it if this could work?

Although I had to remove, and then reinstall iTunes, I still have all my content back inside however get. All content currently, lives on an external hard drive and so I do not know what to do really. I thought maybe I could drag and drop content more but there is more content on this external drive to the room, I have available on my iMac.

    Any ideas?

The first method rebuilt your library by using a backup file created whenever you updated the iTunes application. If you have videos in there at the time that they should appear even if only as broken links. If they had not been entered and then realize that it uses an older version of your library file.  The library file doesn't say what media he recorded for you and where, not an inventory of your media files to iTunes.

The second method allows to rebuild the library based on a version in alternate formats of the library file. It is regularly updated and if, during your previous attempts it updated the .xml to match the library at this stage, then that is clearly not good.

I do not reinstall the application. If you are desperate then simply slide the media on the outside back into the existing library.  Designated as the place to store media in iTunes > Preferences > advanced is the external drive then he should leave the files there.

You have the entire library on the external hard drive, or just media? Be aware if you have all of your external library must be on before launching iTunes.

  • How can I copy my old library a Shuffle and a 5 Ipod to my new Itunes library?

I have an Ipod and a shuffle that are very old I want to load the library of music on them on my new nano but I can't understand the new itunes and how to put music from my old appliances in my library. Any help out there?

By design, iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the iTunes library on your computer to the iPod.  You cannot transfer files from song from iPod to computer (via iTunes), with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes Store (because iTunes can check the property).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something as 'ipod transfer music', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once your music files on your disk, add them to your iTunes library.  After the confirmation that all your songs are there, you can synchronize your iPod as you wish.
