  I confirmed that Replay Manager cannot do that; the reason? Dag have a database and are essentially sending for updating the passive copies of newspapers. Since they are not online and synchronizes the DAG status between servers backup will always attempt to occur on the asset. If only one of your copies of DAG is on an HDS, it will be a more serious problem.

  Finally, I found the solution:

  Symantec Backup Exec Agent installed on windows system has a default setting to choose the right provider VSS: this parameter is 'automatic selection '.

  With this automatic selection, the agent chooses the VSS provider Replay Compellent, instead of the microsoft VSS provider service. And so, the backup exec task triggers a replay on the Compellent storage system!

  Solution: change the task parameter to force 'Microsoft's VSS provider' instead of 'automatic selection '.

  In the Compellent Architecture, both controllers are active. Tipping is at the port or level controller depending on how the system has been installed. Volumes are 'owned' by a specific controller for the purpose of mapping on servers. Change the owner controller is possible - but it takes a volume down. The controller generates the choice of representation based on the topology of database it built from the connections to the server. If there is an installation problem such as a controller can not see a server, then it will not choose this path as a default option (this may also indicate a configuration problem since it is a double path - dual controller environment, you should be able to see the server from two controllers.) Views of the object of volume will be held by the same controller. • ESXi 5.0/5.1 and VAAI Compellent

  I can't try to understand VMware 5.0/5.1 with a Compellent SAN Setup. I am trying to collect information on the current configuration of the VAAI but couldn't get anything to go up.

  Error: Unknown command or namespace vaai list of devices

  It seems that the game complete command vaai is either not installed or is not available and I have no idea why. I have several hosts ESXi 5.0.0 U1, 5.1, updated since the previous running and cleaning 5.1 installs. I'm under 5.1, 5.1, 5.1 PowerCLI vCLI vCenter. I tried direct console as well as the remote shell connections.
