  • Converting WTV files...

Folks, Win7 recorded television shows in this WTV format and has a built-in tool to convert them to format dvr - ms I use PS3 Media Server and it does not yet recognize WTV so I have to convert. The problem is, WTV Converter that comes with Win7 starts the conversion process and dies off the coast after you convert like 5-6 minutes of the show. How can I diagnose this problem? This would cause a codec pack? Better yet, is there an AC converter for WTV in what?

  • No sound after conversion of the wtv dvr - ms files

I've seen this posted anywhere, especially for windows 7 64 bit but no solutions.

After you convert a file windows media center wtv dvr - ms there is no sound in the resulting file.
    Why?

SOLVED - there were three variables:

    Windows Media Center
    DLNA server application
    Sony TV
I ended up converting the wtv in mpeg2 file using this application
Not sure why, but got sound and video now when broadcast on television.

  • Window Media Center! 10 GB for TV-record 30 minutes! Go Microsoft!

As I said in the title, I usually record TV shows so I can watch them after school, then all of a sudden one day I discovered my hard drive was full... I tried to find the problem and found out it was the "recorded tv" folder which is sh * ting my storage. I take a look at the properties and shocks, each tv 30mins record contains 10 GB or more! Go! It is simply not true! No idea how I change it or compress the vid or just convert a .wtv for any folder that's NOT going to s * ck my hard drive! PLEASE...

For ISDN (the Japan Broadcasting System), I don't know.  But brushing up on the specs, I can see why the size of your file is so huge - the bit rate is, well, pretty high (but, this picture has got to be so pretty!)  With a rate of 51 MB/s per channel, it'll do for some large files in a hurry.
Here in the United States, ATSC (our over-the-air signal level) has a total ~19.4Mb/s rate (amount of signals of a station - up to 5 programs of the station).  Therefore, smaller file sizes.  (Cable is as a result, most of the time.)

Why MC just write the bitstream (remember: the signal is already digital, and in a format that it understands) to disc and gives no possibility (at least here) of re - encode a smaller size?  Because it would take considerable processing power to do and would get more heavy you want to compress, or tuners more your are running.
Is it possible to put MC to compress the signal?  For you, I don't know (but I guess that the answer will be 'no', just as it is here for digital signals.)

For now, the best advice I can think of for you to get a more concrete answer would be to re - ask the thegreenbutton.com wire (it is recommended that post in the Windows 7 folder in the world).  There are some (not too many, I think; but a few) users to your part of the world who might be able to shed light on it a little more for you.

Oh, and: I'm sorry for the price of HARD drive.  That sucks.  :(

    HTH,

  • Can I watch digital TV files on my Vista laptop

    Hello

If you have TV pack for Windows Vista already installed on Windows Vista.Else, right click on the saved Windows 7 files and convert them to .dvrms and then transfer to Win Vista laptop loading.

  • Windows 8 does not work with wtvconverter.exe

Using Windows 7 I record radio and TV using Microsoft Media Center, right-click on the files and convert them to the ".dvr-ms", which I can then play on my WD TV Media Streamer.

Unfortunately on Windows 8 it does not.

Firstlt option does not exist in the context menu, so I tried from the command line:

    c:\Windows\ehome>CD /d c:\windows\ehome
    wtvconverter ' c:\WTVS\myfile.wtv ' /showUI ' G:\Ready for WDTV\myfile.dvr - ms»»»

This returns the error: "WTV Converter cannot convert the .wtv file to .dvr-ms format because the content is not compatible with the dvr-ms file format."

    • I get the same error message for files saved in Windows 7 and Windows 8.
    • The files on Windows 8 can still be converted on an old machine of Windows 7.

If it certainly seems to be a problem with Windows 8; What can I do to fix?

    Thank you

    Stewart

I just got this work and here is how.

If you can't find the option "convert dvr - ms" in your context menu, try the 'Windows Media Center' setting as the default program to open files .wtv, instead of 'Windows Media Player', which is the default value. After changing the program by default, you will see the option that you are familiar with.

Now if again, it does not work and informs you of the error message "WTV converter cannot convert a .wtv file format .drv-ms because the content is not compatible with the dvr - ms file format", it is probably because you have performed an upgrade to Windows 8 rather than a clean install. To resolve this problem, open Task Scheduler and find a spot called "MediaCenterRecoveryTask" under "Task Scheduler Library/Microsoft/Windows/Media Center. Run this task by right-clicking on it and selecting 'run '. You can receive strange error messages as request to send error reports so that the task is running, but you can just ignore them all. The task will not stop by itself, so you should end it manaully when you find your hard drive, be quiet. Now open Media Center, and they will tell you that some problems have been detected and you will need to set up everything again. After setting up television signals and stuff like that, you find the right click conversion function works again. Just be aware that you will lose all your recording schedules or other parameters during the recovery process, then you might need to plan before you try this.

  • Convert dvr - ms with a right-click format .wtv doesn't exist despite what instructions help Windows say. ___

Windows 7 help and support says to "convert recorded TV (.wtv) file to an older format go the folder where your recorded TV files are stored (usually C:\Users\Public), right click on the file you want to convert and then click on convert to .dvr-ms Format.»

When I right-click on these files there is no option to "Convert to .dvr-ms Format." is there a way to do this, or a parameter in the folder to allow this?

I don't know why your computer does not have this option.  If your computer has the conversion program: C:\windows\ehome\wtvconverter.exe.  If this is the case, you can run it from a command prompt window (Start >all programs > Accessories > prompt ) by entering these commands:

    CD /d c:\windows\ehome
    wtvconverter
    sourcefile targetfile /ShowUI

    where:

sourceFile = full path of the .wtv file you want to convert
TargetFile = full path of the .dvr-ms file that you want to create
/ShowUI (as an option).  If so, show the progress of the conversion in a separate window

    For example:

    CD /d c:\windows\ehome
    wtvconverter
    "C:\users\public\public tv\TV Show.dvr - ms recorded" /ShowUI 'C:\users\public\public tv\TV Show.wtv recording'

To convert a whole folder of .wtv files .drv-ms format, use this command:

    wtvconverter sourcefolder\*.wtv/ShowUI

    For example:

    wtvconverter "C:\users\public\public recorded tv\ * .wtv ' /ShowUI

  • Windows 7 converter for .dvr_ms to .wtv files works sometimes, but not always, on the .wtv MCE with only audio files.

I use MCE to record radio in wtv format programs.  Then, I want to convert them to the mp3 format for general use on other devices (including another computer running Windows XP).  The first step in this conversion is at stage of wtv to dvr_ms.  For the most part, it works, but sometimes I get an error message.

Error message indicates that the content is not compatible with the dvr - ms format.  Any ideas what this means?
Other ideas to get directly in .mp3 format without buying third-party paid software?

  • Files Windows 7 WTV - no right click to convert DVR - MS

I tried making sure that files using Media Center as default, but still no option to convert.  I think that there is bad registry data, but don't know what.  Anyone know what the registry by default come to the WTV files is supposed to be?  any other ideas?

    Thank you

I know it's a bit like suggesting you restart & try again, but do you have disabled Media center, then reactivated it?  I have seen this suggested in other threads regarding problems of WMC.  I think he has to side effect of wiping of your records to Date played in WMP so probably do the same with similar entries in WMC.

Control Panel, programs & features, enable Windows features on & have a cup of tea while it's clear filling his list [Earl Grey is very effective for Windows 7 problems], the box next to the multimedia features, restart, reactivate & try again.  [I mean this for DVDMaker WMC, WMP, as they share a lot of facilites for choosing one can be just missing the target.]

Furthermore, I'm not an expert, but I know other threads that it is the closest, you can get to uninstall and then reinstall these components of Windows 7.

  • How to convert timed discourse analysis in subtitles for the video?

I used the analysis of discourse in the metadata tab video in first CC 7.2.1.  I used a full transcript and the timing is perfect between what means the talent and the words in the box "analysis" on the metadata tab.  So, how can I make this text synchronized in a legend for my video file?  I'd love to export it to a file of sidecar legend (SRT format is preferred, but I'll take anything at this point) but have not found a way to do it.

  • Greek subtitles from any source for my Toshiba 32L 4333

I thing I tried everything. Another encoding (utf8, ansi, unicode), different formats, different sources (usb, dlna) subtitles but it seems I can't do (Greek) subtitles are displayed.

I can't understand what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?

As much as I know, that subtitles don't are not supported via DLNA.

But play video files from USB, it should be possible to activate the subtitles.
Video files must be in the format of MKV file. Subtitles should be stored in the srt file in the movie folder. The srt file also supports the UTF-8 format.

Select UTF-8 standard, text editor such as Notepad ++.
Then, you choose the character set and I also choose the option convert to UTF - 8.
