Suddenly LR cannot import the photos because he cannot read the sd card

"All of a sudden after I insert my sd card in ' my Mac Book Pro, I get the message that' 126 files on the map .

cannot be imported because they cannot be read. »

I have been using the same settings of import for more than a year.

Hi rthomasbrr,

  • Make sure it is on a valid location and you have read/write permissions to the location
  • Make sure that the Destination panel is expanded when you click Import.

Kind regards

The path contains a backslash. If so, change it.   It would be useful to show the way you want to import from.  You can try to modify the handling setting in the preferences for the second parameter where the backslash is considered to be illegal and is replaced.  Its probably best to simply not use these characters in any case.

  • Windows Photo Gallery can't edit this photo because it is read-only.

This folder are the files stored in (the full path name)?

It is probably a permissions problem with - with the file or folder (or one of its parent folders). You want to give yourself full rights and/or to take ownership of the file/folder.

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Lightroom cannot read my memory card.  Help!

I have problems with Lightroom read my memory card.  Any suggestions?

This message indicates that the file you are trying to copy the photos to has no write permission.

As well, in Lightroom, determine which folder is the Destination folder (it's on the right side of your import dialog box). Then go in your operating system and change the permissions on this folder to the write permission.

  • Satellite A20 cannot read SD memory card

I have a portable Satellite A20. I can read SD cards up to 1 GB. I tried to read a card with 2 GB (and format). It does not work. Who can help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

When the A20 was produced right now on the market, there is no SD card with more than 1 GB of capacity. Much more old models of portable computers cannot read the new SD cards. It is the same on my old Tecra M1.

I'm afraid there is not much to do.

  • Cannot read an SDHC card in Windows Vista SP2

Hey, I bought a SanDisk Ultra II 8 GB SDHC card some time ago card for my camera.
While I might as well use the cable for my photos, I also have a built-in card reader fit with a hybrid MS/SD/MMC slot.
Although none of my MemorySticks seem to have a problem reading, reading of the SDHC card is simply impossible.
The light is just green flicker, then after awhile it just turns off while the Device Manager freezes.
I tried to install the fix of the so-called related to this problem, but it seems not to apply to my system.
My system is Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 installed.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes. Download a SDHC reader.

Although the SD and SDHC cards look alike, as do readers SD and SDHC,
    they are not the same.

  • Windows cannot read any SD card

My Windows 7 Home Premium will not read any SD card. But he reads USBs perfectly. I noticed that every MSDS I plug using the same drive letter. But when I changed the letter to a different letter, the SD card that was plugged in is read. But as I've changed the SD card, I connected the other used the same letter and gave me the error in the screenshot above.

I plugged the SD card in another computer and everything worked fine.

    So, how can I fix?

I did a system restore and that fixed the problem.

For example, you specify that the device does not display the lock screen, correct? Do you use Touch IDS? If so, try to put your finger on the device to see if it's what he wants.

  • I imported the pic from my camera to my images. When I go into my photos and do turn and then try saving the picture, it says "you cannot rotate this image.

original title: read only the settings on my photos

I imported the photos from my camera to my computer and saved in a folder in my pictures.  When I go into my photos and do turn and then try saving the picture, it says "you cannot rotate this image.  The file may be used or open in another program or file or folder can be set to read only. "I have tried many and repeatedly edit the files and folders to uncheck Read-only, but it keeps changing its property back to read-only.  I also know that the file is not open or in use anywhere on my computer.  There must be something wrong with the parameters of only reading, but I have no idea how to do to figure it out, I tried several times to change.

    Any help would be great!

    Thank you!!

Okay, it looks like that your camera records the files in write protected files.
    1. There should be settings on your cam to stop recording pictures like "non-indexed.
    2. but right now, try this:

Right click on image > click Properties > click on advanced > check / uncheck the ' Index
This file / folder...' option (should be the second option)
Click OK > click on apply.
and you'll see it disappear / appear

You can do this for all the photos (hold down the ctrl key while selecting to choose several files at once)

  • Cannot import the Clipboard because the file is not a TIFF file.

I'm not a frequent user of Photoshop, but for some time I still get the error message "Cannot import the Clipboard because the file is not a TIFF file."

Extremely annoying actually.   Is there something that can be done?

Another application place a TIFF file in the Clipboard, or at least advanced he was TIFF.

When Photoshop or the desired BONE scan TIFF, there (because it cannot really be given TIFF).

You need to understand what other application puts bad data on the system Clipboard.

  • I have the latest downloadable version of the LR5.  It crashed while it was perceived 1:1 uttered during an import. After a restart of the Win764(), it displays a message that LR has to leave because he cannot read the preview files and it will try to fix

I have the latest downloadable version of the LR5.  It crashed while it was perceived 1:1 uttered during an import. After a restart of the Win764(), it shows a message that LR has to leave because he cannot read the preview files and it will try to fix it the next time's lance.  I get the same message to another and whenever he throws so I can't launch LR at all now.

I get the preview of a file has been corrupted somehow.  Is it possible to fix this without having to build a new catalog?

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. You will see a folder with the extension .lrdata. You must remove this folder, and then restart the Lightroom. Lightroom will generate a new folder of previews.

  • Cant' import images of Photos because "it is not enough free space on the volume of your library to import the selected items.

    Hey guys,.

So I tried to import some ~ 8 GB of photos on my mac, but the Photos app gives me the following message: "there isn't enough free space on the volume of your library to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least X.XX GB of additional free space. »

Where X.XX represents the amount of GB it says that I need but it changes everytime that I reopen the application to attempt an import.

My mac has currently 44.4 GB so I don't know why this issue is coming.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks in advance,

    Andres

  • When you try to copy messages from Outlook Express to Live Mail, all of the .dbx except folders.dbx files copy OK. My new PC cannot read the disc to import messages (probably because that folders.dbx is missing?)

I followed the contours of Ms. webesite steps to transfer my OE messages to my new LiveMail on my new PC. Instructions to mention to make sure that when you copy the message on a CD for transfer files to new PC that they must include the file "folders.dbx".  All my files message correctly copy except "folders.dbx".

I guess that's why the new PC says there are no messages on the CD to be imported from (although I see that all of the .dbx files).

Why is that I am having a problem copying "folders.dbx" and this is my problem in terms of imports?

Create a new identity in OE and import the messages. This new storage location to transfer it to WLMail. It will be all new dbx files so no corruption should be gone.
