Wanted: Wireless blue light always on

Hello I have a new Hp envy laptop and up to a few weeks with the F12 I could turn on/off my wireless connection. Now its always blue, even when I try disconect it it shows the blue ligh only a flight mode message puppies say turn off/on.

How can I solve this? And what is the reason for this change?

I read it is possible thanks to the absence of bios update, but I've always had the Hp support Assistant showing the update of the BIOS.

Thank you.

  • Wireless network not always connects successfully on HP ENVY 5644

Just bought a new HP ENVY 5644 device to replace an existing of my HP Photosmart C4380. The new device for the first time and ran through the initial configuration using the built-in touch screen. Everything seemed to be going easily and smoothly, without any error and even connected to my home wireless network on the first attempt.

I then tested the printing and scanning of the characteristics, which each provided extremely pleasant results and good performances on the wireless network.

Unfortunately, this is where my story ends happy and boredom begins!

After initially set up the device in a temporary location, I've properly turned off to transfer it to its final resting position. Even if it were in another room of the House, it was actually closer to the router of network wireless itself. In reality, we are talking about a very significant distance that the 2 rooms are in fact back to back each. So, now with her in her new role and connected to a power outlet, I turned on the device once more. The powers of the unit upwards and the blue light that indicates the status of the wireless connection, continually flashes blue rather than a blue fixed solid. Blinking blue indicates that the device is unable to establish a wireless network connection. If I use the touch screen to investigate the matter, I think there seems to be an authentication problem and the details of the message are bad password (WPA) wireless entered.

Why has this happened? Nothing has changed, everything that I've done is not move the printer in another room!

Believing that the touch screen tells me, I decided to run the Wireless Setup Wizard once more to confirm the wireless network settings. As expected, he manages to find my home wireless network without any problems and then requests the password key has been entered. I go so it correctly and press on apply. It is at this time that the device tries to connect to the network, that unfortunately crashes, return the above error message. However, I know that I entered the password correctly, in fact, there is an option to display the password that you entered before attempting the connection, which, while they inspected, confirms that the password that I entered is good!

Then why does it not connect?

I tried to turn on the wireless feature, turn off several times via the touch screen interface, but this has not solved the problem. The only way to get the connection Wireless online is to keep turning on the unit, switch off again until the wireless light solid blue. Without apparent reason, wireless seems to have a mind of its own, only connected to my wireless network when she wants to!

I have no problems with many other wireless network devices I have in my house, from several manufacturers and even located in other parts of the House. I know that my wireless network is good and I know that my password wireless like the back of my own hand, so there is no chance of which is incorrect. It is purely a problem for the HP ENVY 5644 itself, device which can be confirmed by the fact that if I turn it on and turn it on again, it could decide to establish a successful connection even if I have nothing to its own network configuration, or my own configuration of wireless itself.

Ask yourself whether or not it might be of some obscure incompatibility between my wireless router and the HP ENVY 5644, I tested the unit with another router to spare than I, who was also from another manufacturer but unfortunately the result is the same, the HP ENVY 5644 connected only when he wanted and would establish only the network connection Wireless when switching on the device. If the connection fails, it will never connect to the network unless you turn off and turn it back on, which may require even been attempted several times before success. Once connected, it seems to stay connected and then works really well.

This behavior is not acceptable and I'm sure that's not too healthy for the device itself to be turned on and off again at these short cycles. Otherwise, overall, as I said earlier, I am very happy with the product.

Can someone at HP tell me why this is happening or suggest what I need to seek or consider.

Talked with HP engineer the other day. I explained to him what was going on and they suggested to do a factory reset and then set the IP address manually rather than using DHCP from my router wireless home.

I wasn't too happy about it as everything has been well installation and work, except for the WiFi do not reconnect all power over. I also had a go better, adding a DHCP reservation in my router by using the MAC address of the printer. Indeed, it is the best of both worlds that the printer will be given the same IP address by the router whenever he asks for one.

We agreed to leave things as they are rather than the reset of the printer and I would now turn off the printer every day. For the last 4 days, the printer has reconnected to WiFi at all power over. This is excellent news.

I have a call on request with HP in the coming days to discuss how things are going. If everything continues as it is, it would seem that to specify that a wireless router DHCP reservation solves the problem. While I wait for the next call to HP, I continue to power on / off power to the printer on a daily basis.

  • LaserJet 1102W Pro - can't get the blue light at all

I do the initial installation of a Pro LaserJet 1102W.  I created another without difficulty.  After a reset to the default values and an update of the firmware, I can not even a flashing blue light indicating the necessary wireless configuration.  Tried with and without USB cable.  I get the status lights will blink for 10 seconds and then back to solid green light.  I tell myself that I need the blue light blinks then I can connect via Wi - Fi to set up.

I believe on this model if you press the wireless to the printer and the (protected web configuration) WPS button our router that they should connect automatically. Then, you can use the installation package and the type of connection appropreiate for the printer on the computer.

Is there anything else that could help you?

    Happy holidays!

  • Blue light flashing on printer

I have a HP6700 printer.  The little blue light flashes.  Anyone know what this means?  IHAVE watch and watch and can not find the solution.

    Hi BettyT

I understand that you would like to know why the blue led will blink.

When the blue light is solid while the printer is on the wireless network.

When it flashes, then the printer is not setup on the wireless network.

Here's a url for the manual for the 6700 Officejey that could be useful. 14 page explains all the icons.

Does anyone know how to turn off the blue lights that lie beneath the speakers on a Satellite P100? They are evil in my sight!

    Hello

You are a lucky man. This is a very new unit and I wish that I would also have one of the new Satellite models. But you know, the money is the key :(
However, I don't think that it is possible to put out these fires.
In my opinion, it is a part of the design of laptops. It seems very futuristically.

  • Acer R7-572 blue light, dead?

    Hello

    Probably BIOS problem?
When I press on the power of the blue LED turns on for 8 seconds, nothing comes on the screen, the fan does not start. I tried replacing the RAM, WIFI and HARD drive, still nothing. When you connect the power supply, it is the battery. You can see by the orange light. If we try to turn it on, same thing, 8 seconds of blue light.

I also did a video, please it mute and simply read the annotations

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=hqSJ38ozNVA

It worked very well for a long time, I edited UEFI via windows. And no doubt it bricked when I pressed the button on the battery on the bottom of Acer.

Believe it or not, I was ready to Flash the bios with the programmer. But before he unsolder, I unsolder the battery and just gave him a fire and connected to the power supply and press on the power button and it turned on!

So I soldered the battery in place and it works perfectly fine now. I have no idea how how or why it happened but unsoldering battery wirked for me and the problem was not the corruption of the bios as I initially suspected.

Very weird. But thanks for the help.

  • Disable DHCP on WRTU54G behind WRT54G, impossible to get the blue light

I spent several hours today trying to set up my second router (WRTU54G) behind the first router (WRT54G) with the DHCP offshore on the second router, but blue light don't come. My first router is connected to the modem. There is nothing wrong with the phone service, it works with a LAN WAN Setup on my routers and the blue light comes on. But I'm trying to get everything on my network to answer and turn on sharing, so I'll try the config LAN to LAN on the two routers with DHCP disabled on the second. No blue on light. I also tried the Bridge mode on the second router but that did not work. By browsing these forums, I opened the ports 5060-5061 and 16384-16482 on my first router but I don't know what IP address to assign them. What I'm trying to do is to use my router second, WRTU54G of VOIP, like a switch, but also use it for telephone service. I know that I can just swap the routers and that should work, but y at - it another way?

Thanks for the reply, but that has not worked for me. But I finally got to work now, after some more googling and play with the settings. I have stuck on the 'Bridge' on the WRTU54G mode but kept the connection between the two routers on LAN to WAN connection. This didn't work at first but after only 20 minutes to leave and the blue light came all my computers are on DHCP IPs the first router too.

Problem solved - returned to store.

  • Fading blue light still does not light

The blue light on my pc Tower after will not be used for a period of time fades in (I think it's in mode 'sleep'?) anyway it will not light back? I touch the mouse... nothing. The keyboard... nothing. I press the power button... nothing and if I pressed the power button is off, but when you tap it again to turn it on it goes immediately to the discoloration to? If I unplug the power supply from the back of the tower and taking new... It is fine until it is unused and goes back to this mode again?

You said that it is fine if you disconnect and reconnect. Check the Power Options in the Control Panel, check all power with care settings. Pay close attention to power, the sleep and Hibernate button Options, it can be a bit confusing if you have never enabled it. The power Option Page click on change Plan settings then click on change advanced power. Select your current plan the menu drop-down. Click on an open space on the square to set the menu otherwise, when you scroll the map in the menu drop-down will change. Check to see that there are no parameters in conflict and please do not change other setting it until this problem is solved!
