Support for PCIe storage

Are they compatible? If so, which would you recommend?
I'm under S30 with Windows 7.

Official support for PCIe SSD didn't happen until the P500/700/900 series. However, PCIe SSD will work on the S30, albeit without bootable media.

Since no hard drive have been officially qualified, should really a specific recommendation here. Many AHCI or NVMe with SSD should work without much effort, although anything NVMe will need a driver. My personal choice would go to Samsung or Intel, as I've had the most experience with them. Samsung can be done via PCIe cards m2 and Intel has some native PCIe solutions.

What are your needs here? What volume of storage and what is your purpose of speed? Knowing that might help to point you in the right direction.

Does anyone know if this is even the case for modern storage?

We are a dell shop, wishing to take advantage of the ability to create up to 64 TB RDM.

However, the storage of the host in question will be local SAS only.

Are there updates on support for XP x 64? The latest version of the software only supports Vista x 64 so far, and we are unable to use it for our application.

    Thank you.

    Erik

    Hello Erik,.

Please use the support NEITHER.  From now on, we still have no support for Windows XP x 64, and due to the massive amount of Windows users from XP to Vista and beyond it is doubtful that we will in the future have the support for XP x 64.  From now on, your best bet is to stick with your current operating system, or if you need to move to 64-bit then, as you have already mentioned, we manage Vista x 64.  I hope this helps.

    Hello:

You should be able to use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software the g7z-2100 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

You need the driver for the hardware ID you have posted.

This package contains the driver that allows the Realtek card reader in laptop models running a supported operating system. The card reader allows users to read or write to removable storage cards supported, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players and cell phones.

Trim is not supported in your PC, as it is.

Unfortunately, I do not know what the consequences are for not having not TRIM support.

I cannot say if adding a third party sata controller would be better than what you have now.

There are several different cards to choose from, but which is the right one for the scenario that you are?

I have seen that some say 'support for SSD.

    Who didn't tell me much.

Some people say that the PCIe x 1 slot slows down the drive.  Others say it's faster.

  • SAS HBA or Raid for R905 for external storage?

So I got a R905 used off ebay.  I wanted to use it for a storage server.  Unfortunately, the LSI SAS HBA or the Areca 1883 work in one of the 7 pci-e slots.  The cards are seen and their bios are launched and start automatic and other tests.  Two of them crash during initialization (it is not a matter of waiting a few minutes - in a trial, let him so all day while I was out).  I know that the slots are not dead, like the map 4-port gbe enet provided with it works great, just like a connection-x 2 infiniband card.  I confirmed that the bios and bmc firmware are the latest and best.  It's a kind of dell 'we do support the controllers dell' thing?  If so, I guess I agree with the purchase of a dell SAS HBA connector sff-8088 with random (since that's what jbod I want to connect using...)  Any thoughts appreciated...

    Hello.

No Dell non-certified controllers are not validated to work properly on Dell servers. But this does not mean that may not work, it's a 50-50 chance. I recommend using certified Dell SAS HBA card such as: manufacturer: 7RJDT | Dell reference: 342-0910. Not so sure on the type of connector

  • I get a request for local storage through Adobe flash which I can't get rid of

Clicking on accept or decline does not a doggone thing. I don't have the problem with Google Chrome, but I really prefer to use Firefox. I had the problem with other sites next to NPR (National Public Radio All Things Considered). It does not interfere with the download, but there really with the NPR player. • 1 TB SATA v/s PCIe - storage versus Flash and RAM wanted to set up.

    Hello

I am new to Mac and can't wait to buy Mac Mini.

I studied the difference between a PCIe-based Flash storage and Serial ATA Drive, which of course turns out PCIe Flash Storage is ahead then SATA.

Two choices are running in my mind:

    1. 1 TB SATA drive, can I configure 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM

    or

    2. If I choose Flash on PCIe storage, should I configure 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM

    FYI,.

My work will not develop or too technical point of view.

    Thank you

(8 or 16 GB) memory and storage are independent. It is not in the other.

The memory cannot be upgraded later since it soldered to the logic board.

If you can afford it, I'd go for the 16 GB.

You did not specify how yo use the mac so maybe 8 GB is enough.

  • Satellite 1690 win2000 and driver for pci CSC!

I have a 1690CDT Satellite and my modem will not work. I think I need the driver for my pci Simple Communications Controller, but I'm not. Can anyone give me a tip where I can find it? I use win 2000 now, but from the beginning I had win98.
    Thank you very much!!

    Hi Peter

It won't be easy. As far as I know W98 driver may not work properly with W2000. W2000 is not supported for this series of laptop. Have you already tried to install the modem using the standard driver? In install new modem under Select manufacturer types of modems Standard and modems select a standard modem with good speed please.

Sorry but I don't have an alternative.

for XP, but I'm not sure what kind of driver do I need to install for PCI controller memory, it is driver bios or something else? I just need to know what to install to overcome this problem with my device manager and the PCI memory controller.

    Hello akibono

I imagine that you have installed Windows XP Home clean on your laptop and now you want to install all the drivers, tools and utilities. Am I right about that?

In any case, after the installation of Windows XP Home edition you install all the drivers, tools and utilities in the order of the specific facilities. After doing this, everything should be OK and every hardware component will be correctly configured.
Please install all the stuff as follows:
    WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
    Driver Chipset
    Display driver
    Audio driver
    Driver modem
    Storage Manager
    LAN driver
    Touchpad driver
    WLAN driver
    Toshiba Assist
    Flash Media driver
    Driver webcam
    Hardware configuration
    Controls
    And so on

I hope that everything will be OK.

  • What type of support for labview usb protocols?

Hello guys I want to connect a device to your pc via a usb port and I want to use labview to analyze the data.

But first of all, I would like to know what usb protocols support for labview.

USB, USB CDC and other TMC?

I ve read labview recognizes a raw device to the usb, but what is? Is it VI to read and send data, or I have to do? If these VI exists, they do the handshake? flow control?

    Thank you.

Please read the chips and have a look at the USB specification (it is linked to in the nuggets).

TMC, CDC, MAss Storage are all built on the basic USB protocols.

LabVIEW has no built-in support for one of these classes of devices except Test and measurement.

  • Support for HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 SATA3

Hi all, I am new on this forum!

I registered ask if someone can clear my mind on the SATA3 supported for this device.

I have read the manual and I see it has Intel HM77 chipset which has 2 port SATA3 a 4 SATA2 ports

Now, the Sleekbook has a SATA and a mSATA and it was written in the manual on page 98:

    300 MB/s transfer rate

So, it stops at speeds SATA2?
How can I check if it supports real SATA3 speeds?

It is important for me because I intend to buy an SSD, SATA is only 3 Gbps might I choose a cheaper SSD rather than buying one that uses the full bandwidth of SATA3!

    Thanks to advice

On a SSD this isn't all about bandwidth. Average speed of transfer is a better measure of the performance of every day, but if you think that you will save a lot by buying a SATA-II disk to proceed.  Unfortunately, I have no access to any better information that you do and all I can say is the HM77 Express chipset supporting up to 2 ports SATA-III of x. I'm not aware of any HP laptops using processors Intel Core gen 3 or higher which is not SATA-III.
