  • If I have to buy a new license for Windows if I replace the mother/CPU card

    Original title:Win 7 OEM + new motherboard

I have a prégénérée with Windows preinstalled machine and the mother/cpu card must be replaced.  If I replace them should I buy a new Windows license?

    Thank you

There are provisions for the replacement of defective motherboards without the need to buy another license OEM, this isn't really a problem for major pc manufacturers that replace motherboards warranty.  Small manufacturers have a leeway as long as the motherboard is designed as a replacement for a defective.  If the motherboard is replaced as an 'upgrade' then the terms of this EULA do not allow this.

  • improve graphics 5710f mother cpu card

I have a Compaq Presario 5710 with use of 2 years. I installed a Corsair 400 PSU and a 9600 GT graphics card when I bought it.

I would switch to a GTX 260.  I'm on a budget ($400 or less if possible!) I think that the Athlon (1) era motherboard and the CPU in the CP 5710f is not enough to get much added performance of the GTX 260 compared to the 9600 I now.

My budget allows me to consider a motherboard Athlon II bicoeur and cpu. In my view, that there is a 3.4 Ghz (3.3?) available cpu.   I'll probably buy the graphics card by itself first and see it made enough difference.

    Issues related to the:

    1. Although the MFG.  suggests a minimum power of 450 watts for a 260, am I wrong in thinking, it would be prudent to continue to use the Corsair 400?

    2. do I need to get special motherboards for Compaq or one of the panels of the Athlon II Tiger or Newegg would do the job?

    -Thank you

Yup, SATA 3 is backword compatible...

  • XP Media Activation after the replacement of the mother/CPU card

We recently had a wave of power cuts, the end result being that my motherboard got fried.  Today, I replaced the motherboard, processor and memory on the PC, but after turning on the PC, I now get a message saying that I need to activate Windows.

I phoned the number of the support provided for the United Kingdom and automated processes, but eventually to be told that it is not possible to activate the copy of Windows.
Is there a number I can call and talk to someone to get this version of active Windows or I'll be forced to install a new version of Windows?  If this last, will be the files and applications already installed would be in danger?  Ideally, I don't want to upgrade to Windows 7 because there are a number of programs that I use and which are not compatible.
Any help will be most appreciated.
    Thank you

Insert your Windows CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and boot the computer from the CD.
    Do one of the following:
    1. When you are prompted to install Windows now, press ENTER, press ENTER.
Setup search all previous installations of Windows XP on the hard disk and then displays a list of all previous installations that it finds.
    2. use the arrow keys to select the installation that you want to repair, and then press R to repair the selected Windows installation, press R option.
This will start the repair of your previous Windows XP installation.
Setup installs the HAL, the IDE controller drivers and other drivers who must have the new motherboard.
Once the repair is completed, reinstall any service packs or hotfixes that you had previously installed.
  • I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion went well, I restarted the computer, I get a blue screen and the computer restarts

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards
    Amal-Microsoft Support.

  • If I install a new mother/Hard Card Drive in my PC, will be Windows still recognize the PC & stay enabled?

If I install a new mother/Hard Card Drive in my PC, will be Windows still recognize the PC & stay enabled? Can I clone the existing drive I use or make a new installation (preferred). Both old & news readers are SSD. The two motherboards are made by Asus. If I can't get Windows to activate - what should I do about it? Thank you in advance for your help!

You may need to reactivate by phone, OEM licenses are not really intended to be transferred from the original motherboard it came with that.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Identify a 2 GB Compact Flash card to work with older DynaTem CPU card.

I have an older CPU Dynatem (2004) that uses an on-board CF slot that the CPU starts and runs a Linux OS (RedHat 9).  We use a Lexar 2 GB CF (CF2GB-80-380) card, which currently works very well.

The part of Lexar is none past obsolete, and we try to specify a 2 GB CF card to replace it.  We tried to experiment a Sandisk (Ultra P/N SDCFH - 002G - A11) but the CPU card would fail to read the partition on the device of CF tables,

We contacted the seller, and they explained to us that the card slot is not put in place for DMA transfers, as some of the command-line for DMA are not translated on the CF slot, more precisely, DMA REQ and receipt.

For example, Sandisk makes a CF card that will work natively in PIO mode and ignore the missing command DMA signals?

  • running windows 7 and can't find a driver multimedia controller to support my sound card that previously ran on xp

I am now running windows 7 and can't find a driver multimedia controller to support my sound card that previously ran on xp

    Hi, Wally158

I suggest to check the following website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Browse.aspx?type=Hardware&category=Graphics%20Cards%20%26%20Components&subcategory=Sound%20Cards

It lists Windows 7-compatible sound cards, look for your card it should tell you with its compatible. If it is compatible, it also indicates if the driver downloads automatically or you may have to download via a website.

    Keep us informed

    Thank you

CS6 Production Premium supports AMD graphics cards? Specifically over-pants M6100. If so, all the features work with the M6100, or are there features that work only with nVidia video cards?

CS6 does support OpenCL and OpenGL?

Are all features that CS6 supports for NVidia Cuda available for the M6100 OpenCL?

Bill supposed to first Pro CC (not CS6) response. Windows of Premiere Pro CS6 version does not support OpenCL for accelerating GPU of MPE. Therefore, there is no "opencl_supported_cards.txt" file in the folder of Premiere Pro, and the code to OpenCL is disabled permanently in all versions of Windows from Premiere Pro CS6. So, for your over-pants M6100 Premiere Pro CS6 will be permanently locked to only software MPE mode. (Acceleration GPU of MSES in the Windows of Premiere Pro CS6 version is limited to the CUDA only, which means that only NVIDIA for GPU - no AMD over-pants or GPU Radeon support CUDA at all.)

  • Pavilion A4316F Desktop with M2N78-(Violet6) card mother CPU Upgrade

I looked at the HP Site before making the CPU to upgrade to purchase (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01925562) my office.  I bought an AMD Phenom II x 4 processor clocked at 3.4 Ghz.  When I installed the CPU and try to start, I have a unknown, computer processor stop error.  From what I can tell on the HP site, this processor should work with this motherboard.  Any suggestions?

Please provide the role other than whole or number of the plateau of the AMD processor for our review. Only 3.4 Ghz AMD Phenom II x 4 processors I know are the 125 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition and the140 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition. None of these processors are compatible with the Violet6 motherboard in your system. The card mother Violet6 is intended to be used with processors up to 95 watts. In addition, "Black Edition" CPUs have discovered clock multipliers to be used in overclocking, but does not support the Violet6 overclocking motherboard.

Please consider these 95 watt AMD AM3 processors except CPU 'Phenom II X 6' and processors ' B #

  • Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card

I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.

    See you soon.
