XP Media Activation after the replacement of the mother/CPU card

We recently had a wave of power cuts, the end result being that my motherboard got fried.  Today, I replaced the motherboard, processor and memory on the PC, but after turning on the PC, I now get a message saying that I need to activate Windows.

I phoned the number of the support provided for the United Kingdom and automated processes, but eventually to be told that it is not possible to activate the copy of Windows.
Is there a number I can call and talk to someone to get this version of active Windows or I'll be forced to install a new version of Windows?  If this last, will be the files and applications already installed would be in danger?  Ideally, I don't want to upgrade to Windows 7 because there are a number of programs that I use and which are not compatible.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thank you
Jonathan
Insert your Windows CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and boot the computer from the CD.
Do one of the following:
1. When you are prompted to install Windows now, press ENTER, press ENTER.
Setup search all previous installations of Windows XP on the hard disk and then displays a list of all previous installations that it finds.
2. use the arrow keys to select the installation that you want to repair, and then press R to repair the selected Windows installation, press R option.
This will start the repair of your previous Windows XP installation.
Setup installs the HAL, the IDE controller drivers and other drivers who must have the new motherboard.
Once the repair is completed, reinstall any service packs or hotfixes that you had previously installed.

I have a prégénérée with Windows preinstalled machine and the mother/cpu card must be replaced.  If I replace them should I buy a new Windows license?

    Thank you

There are provisions for the replacement of defective motherboards without the need to buy another license OEM, this isn't really a problem for major pc manufacturers that replace motherboards warranty.  Small manufacturers have a leeway as long as the motherboard is designed as a replacement for a defective.  If the motherboard is replaced as an 'upgrade' then the terms of this EULA do not allow this.

I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.

    Hello, Pichon,

If Windows Vista application unexpected activation

On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.

If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:

    1. Click Start, and then click computer.
    2. Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
    3. Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.

To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.

To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:

    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
    2. Click find updates.
    3. As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

  • Vista wants to be activated after Lenovo replaced my motherboard laptop. It says the product key already in use.

    • As stated in my question.

You can reactivate your Windows Vista installation by doing the following:

    1. click on the Start button and in the box, type search: slui.exe 4

    2. press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3 select your country.

4 follow the instructions for the activation of the telephone (toll-free).

NOTE: When you call this number, you will first hear an automated voice. If the automated voice gives you an option to speak to a representative of Activation Live, select this option. If this is not the case, do not enter all the numbers. This should force the voice automated transfer you to an Activation Rep. Live trying to activate through the automated voice will not work, in your case, your activation will be successful only through the Live Activation Rep.

  • Activation after the end of support?

It will be possible to reactivate an installation of Windows XP after the end of the support in 2014? I intend to keep an XP system to run old programs and worry about what happens if I need to reinstall it.

When MS XP launched in 2001, they promised that the activation would be available to certain (undefined) point in the future, date at which they would make available a patch to remove the requirement.

I believe that to be the case.

  • How can I make the submit button that is activated after the user enters a digital signature?

I have a form that contains a digital signature field. Once the user enters their digital signature, my "submit" button is disabled. I wanted that this remains activated for the user can submit the form with their digital signature and the form (in PDF format) as an attachment.

    I'd appreciate any help.

    Kind regards

You can configure the fields of lock after the signing of the digital signature. In Livecycle Designer across this field properties: object-> TAB Signature properties. Here can exclude the button submit or any other field, if necessary, do not lock after signing.

  • Satellite A300 - no activity after the Toshiba homepage

I have a weird question I have not met before.

When the laptop is turned on, you get the Toshiba splash screen, pressing f2 gets you into BIOS, f12 allows to you in the start menu, both these menus work fine.

However, no matter what happened it just gives a black screen, for example, if I had to choose the network boot as the first option of starting, or cd-rom or hard drive.

I tried the following troubleshooting steps

1 removed HDD/DVD and tried to network boot - nothing
2 reset BIOS default checked startup items have been correctly
3 removed ram and ram equipped of well-known work, tried both slots
4 removed the battery and drained static
5 attempt to recover the bios using the diskette (results in the same black screen when you try to start it)

No bios updates were never ran before, all the client has tried to do was to connect the laptop to a projector.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hi Jon Roberts,

Why do you update the BIOS?

If nothing works after the Toshiba screen it appears to be a malfunction of the equipment. You must contact the nearest authorized service provider for professional assistance. You guys can check the cell phone and fix it.
In addition, the Toshiba site, you will find a list of all FSA.

    Good luck! :)

  • F2 key is no longer active / disable the wifi switch card

I have laptop Dell mini. The F2 key is no longer active / disables the power switch wifi card. It is always disabled. The device is present, it seems to be a software problem. I uninstalled the drivers and them was reinstalled. I even completely reinstalled Windows 7. Nothing will get my F2 key works again.

    Happy, it's kind of better.

Consider going to Dell support for new copies of their public services - things with names like

    Dell Wireless enable / disable

    Dell function keys

that is, no matter what the equivalents are for your system. I just had a peek at one of the Minis because I didn't know you had and these names seem to be utilities controlling the special Dell configured keyboard keys [including F2 is a].

If you sign in with your Service tag, it just goes to show that you updated utilities & drivers but at the top of the list, right next to a label with your serial number on will be a tab for all models of type - leaf through as you don't care if something is an updated version you need to replace a utility that does not work properly.

    Good luck

  • problems with wireless after the motherboard, cpu and ram upgrade adapters

As the title says, I have recently updated my card mother, cpu and ram (increased from Asrock extreme6 z77/i7 3770 k/Kingston 8 gb hyperx for EVGA ftw/i5 z97 4670 k/g. Skill ripjaw x 16 gb). I always use the same installation of Windows 7 64 via the same SSD. After I was installing new equipment, I used the disc that comes with the motherboard and installed all the drivers that were available (twice, just to be safe). All the features of the OS I had before seem to be there except to exit Device Manager to correctly install the drivers for my wireless (Linksys AE1000 and TP Link N900) adapters. I downloaded the current driver for the Linksys Web site and I have the disc for the TP-Link and I tried several times to install, but keep the same message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Device Manager recognizes the device and it is not any question of State symbol (IE yellow triangle, etc.) that is displayed in conjunction with an adapter. I tried disable/re-enabling and uninstall/re-installing times and keep having the same problem. I tried to search in several forums of people with similar problems, but none of the resolutions seem to work or are suitable for my situation. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram, drivers for particular devices may not be related to other drivers. That's why I suggest you to install all the drivers for the chipset from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

  • Activation after the replacement of material!

I want to replace my processor and motherboard. I bought my cyberpower computer, my friend remind me that I could not able to reactivate the system because the Win7 is related to the material. However, there are people saying that I don't no need to buy a new copy of win7. Could you please let me know the real answer? And what do I do?

That's why OEM versions are cheaper! ($99)

You could have spent more money when you purchased the computer and purchased a commercial version of the complete installation of Windows 7, then you could change the motherboard. ($199)

  • Zoom function disabled so can't enlarge the text on the main screen hard to read the subject lines of e-mail messages, looks like 6 pt type size, activated after the opening of e-mail.

The text size is so low in the views of folders for primary e-mail that it is very difficult to read the subject lines of emails. I think I remember that earlier versions 'Zoom' has been activated and you could adjust the size. Looks like that the size is set at approximately 6 pt type. Must be at least 12 points.
