  If you have a very close tab, then this is a pinned tab app. You can detach an app tab by right-clicking on the tab and choosing "unpin tab '.

• How can I have my client Win8 continue to be supported by Windows Home Server v1?

  I've updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and now my Windows Home Server v1 cannot back up my laptop. The connector software complains about volume errors and complains about the ESM may not take a snapshot of the customer volume. Help, please!

  None of the two versions of Windows Home Server can back up systems of Windows 8. The first version of WHS is no longer supported and probably will not be updated to add this support.  Windows Home Server 2011 can be updated, the last word of Microsoft on this subject was "Stay Tuned!"

  NLA authentication is an authentication method that can be used to improve the Remote Desktop Session host server security by requiring that the user be authenticated to the Remote Desktop Session host server until a session is created.

  Authentication complete NLA authentication of users before you establish a remote desktop connection and the logon screen appears. This is a more secure authentication method that can help protect the remote computer from malicious users and malicious software. The benefits of the NLA authentication are:

  • It requires fewer remote computer resources initially. The remote computer uses a limited number of resources before authenticating the user, rather than start a remote desktop connection complete as in previous versions.
  • It can help provide better security by reducing the risk of denial of service attacks.

  According to the description of the problem, you can not connect to the desktop (RDS) remotely and get the NLA error is not supported on your system. I suggest you to return the items listed below and see if it helps.

  PS: In the past VMware has provided a free license of VMware Workstation after you have completed the requirements to become a VCP - DCV (i.e. necessary training, more exam). I'm sure they'll continue to do that.

  I currently have 2 hp g6 servers running esxi5.5 directly connected to my home router that uses the whole family only. This router handles dhcp right now.

  I would like to set up a windows with dns, dhcp, rolls conot domain environment.

  What gives the lab a different IP range be enough to separate them? Or woild I need a switch?

  Just give a different subnet will be working as expected not because machines can get the IP address for any of your DHCP servers... the best way to do is isolate them in a new area of L2, using VLANS or physically separated.

  because ESXi is intelligent in its partition on the storage configuration, feel free to simply create a RAID5 out of these disks and install ESXi on it - the partition of local data store is separate from the one system - you'll have the most available space in this way.

  Every time I have try and install windows home server it goes through the windows of files loading screen, then green bars on a loading screen then nothing. Let it sit overnight and still nothing
