Svchost (DcomLaunch) repeatedly end dllhost.exe

As the title says, my computer is repeatedly starting and ending dllhost.exe. I found it as svchost (DcomLaunch) using the process explore to find the parent (svchost) program and then comparing the memory usage to the person named svchosts in resource monitor. The dllhost.exe starts it is in the right folder of Win32 and has a file size of 9 728 bytes ('size on disk 12 288 bytes). I know that antivirus programs can sometimes cause this problem, but it persists even with antivirus disabled. I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and it come clean. It does not use a significant amount of resources, and the only way I noticed that it happens even is looking something like the resource monitor or process Explorer and see restarting and closing several times, but it is annoying and I am sure that he shouldn't do that.

I can't just kill svchost because the computer needs that, until I do?

Hi Amy,

Sorry for the late reply.

Are you still facing the issue?

If you are always faced with the question, I would say that you start the computer Safe Mode and check if you are faced with the same question.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed
Start your computer in safe mode

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows/Start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=Windows-7

If you are not facing problems in Mode without failure, then place the computer in a clean boot state:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows
This will eliminate software conflicts that occur on the PC.

Note: After troubleshooting, consult this section «How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting»

Let us know the result.

  • TaskHost.exe crash, repeating the dllhost.exe crashes (Win7 x 64 SP1)

It has been that rampant in me for over a week. I login and immediately taskhost.exe accidents, then repeat accidents of dllhost.exe. The fault for both module is always esent.dll.

Not to mention that repetitive crash dialogs, there are also other problems:
-Windows Help does not work correctly. After opening, I repeatedly to shut the windows of error just so that he could respond and whatever whether in the search returns 0 results.
-CHM files have the same problem of response as above and also will not show the embedded images or style sheets (like if it cannot access its own embedded files).
-Internet Explorer won't display certain content, IE: YouTube videos, some .webm files.

I tried a variety of things and had no chance to solve the basic problem.
-J' did a full scan with MalwareBytes and Avast antivirus - no viruses and no malware.
-J' tried to manually replace the (dllhost, esent) files to another Windows 7 system - no change.
    -J' tried SFC/scannow - no files don't need replacement - no change.
-J' tried to start in safe mode - no change.
-J' tried a "clean boot" - system running unbearably slow and no change.
-J' tried to delete/uninstall 3rd party codecs - no change.
-J' uninstalled and reinstalled IE11 (a chore in itself) - IE had disappeared, the accidents stopped, but after reinstalling it is back to crashing (and leaving aside other issues caused IE).

The only thing that stops the constant error dialogs must remove dllhost.exe or esent.dll. Of course, none of these options is acceptable because it does not fix the other issues and other causes. And now I get a notification that my Windows think more that it is authentic, and when I tried to validate, the page threw a bunch of script errors me (perhaps because IE does not work correctly).

My next step and the last resort is to reinstall Windows, unless someone here can help. Below is all the information I can think to provide at the moment, I look forward the responses and thanks for reading so far.

    Hello

We recommend posting your query to Microsoft TechNet for advanced troubleshooting.

    Thank you.

  • Security setting Internet properties continues to change on its own / CPU of the computer goes Haywire / 15 + Instances of dllhost.exe * 32 Com substitutes

I have seen that this is a problem for more than just me by reading online about this.

    See:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/554044/slow-Internet-IE-security-settings-keep-changing/

    http://community.Norton.com/forums/trojanpoweliks-multiple-dllhostexe-32-processes-and-PowerShell-Windows-7

I need the solution and you can't find it.

Most of the places online say download all these other programs but never say what is really happening.

I hope you guys can help.

    Windows 7 Home Premium PC

    THAT IS TO SAY 11

I did add something new to my pc.  It started randomly happening...

What I've noticed, is my computer will be stronger, as it is to wrap upward and the CPU goes crazy.

After that research around these things, I noticed happen when this noise starts and the CPU going nuts:

-Under Internet Security my settings changed on their own to custom

(I then change them back only to have this all happen again minutes later)

-When this is happening and I'm going under dllhost.exe Task Manager suddenly over 15 years * 32 Com alternatives pop up all at the same time

I do stop by changing my Internet Security properties to default and putting an end to the tree of processes all the dllhost.exe * 32 Com substitutes.

Then, about 5 or 10 minutes later it happens again. This has happened in recent days.  I ran safely scan and it found some VirToolWin32 - CeeInject.gen! KK (linked in Adobe Updater). This VirTool:MSIL/injector.BF has been removed but all that I mentioned above is still ongoing.

I have apprecitate your answer. Thank you

It arrived today.  I checked the updates as soon as I logged in and it was so maybe that fixed the issue.

Update definition for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (definition of 1.187.1412.0)

I'll keep the links you posted and use them to check everything. I am running the Microsoft Safety Scanner again now, I ran it yesterday and he did not find anything.

Another weird thing, all my update history disappeared. It says updated, ever. Now it only shows the update one alone that I did when I opened a session today.

  • DLLHOST.exe taking up all the RAM random instance.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and 4 GB of RAM on a Dell Inspiron 530 computer. A few minutes ago I was watching YouTube and I clicked on the Start button, because I wanted to do something. The computer then nuts. The flashed repeatedly start button then has frozen, Firefox froze and the screen went black and white for a few seconds. I opened the Task Manager and kill everything, but it was still extremely slow. CPU and memory were at an all time high, (I think 60 CPU, Mem was about 100). I then checked the show all option process and discovered that DLLHOST.exe was using 4 000 000 KB of memory. What the heck is DLLHOST.exe, why should I use as much memory, and is it essential? Can I get rid of him? Why it opens so randomly?

    Hello

You could also deal with this issue because of any third-party application. I suggest you to start your computer in a clean boot state, and check if it helps.

Clean boot: To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please refer to the section: how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting section of Kb to start the computer in normal startup after having solved the problem.

I suggest you to start the online virus scan. Follow the steps in the link below.

    Microsoft safety scanner

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Let us know the status of the issue. We would be happy to help you.

  • Dllhost.exe consumes too much physical memory and execution of 25% of CPU

Dllhost.exe use high memory Usages. How to solve this problem?

    Hi Brendan,

Did you recent hardware or changes to the software to the computer before the show?

Dllhost.exe is a process belonging to Microsoft Windows Operating System. The dllhost.exe file manages DLL based applications. This program is important for the stable and safe running of your computer and should not be terminated. DLLhost using lots of CPU may indicate a malware issue.

You can refer to Korupulu Maestracci suggestion in the following link and check if it helps.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/dllhostexe-COM-surrogate-constantly-running-10-12/320d1831-a9c4-4374-BBC4-70a8f145b1d2

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    I hope this helps.

Please report if the problem persists and we will be happy to help you further.

I did the restore point because I could not get online, oddly enough it turned out to be a loose wire.
Anyway, now there is an application that keeps popping up in my task manager using most of my cpu, so my
computer bogged down. It is named dllhost.exe COM surrogate and when I opened its location
He was in my folder windows32. It is not my services that I can see, but it seems to be bound to play
video or music files. I could be wrong.
I did the usual antivirus (avast free edition free antivirus and malwarbytes) analysis, I defragmented
my computer, I did a scan of system, I did a scan of the memory...  I can't understand.
    Any suggestions?
My computer has 16 GB of installed RAM and 1 TB HDD I am running Windows 7
    Professional 64-bit.
    Thank you in advance.  :-)

I did go to the task manager of windows, processes, sort them alphabetically by the description column, you can list by going to display and select column, and then down to the substitution of com and do a right-click and choose end process... you may need to do more than once... This will remove at least for awhile... it is mainly used to display thumbnail pictures in my photo folder... you can the delete permanently, but then you would not have miniature photos...

  • Toilet Bowl Flushing cursor dllhost.exe (Com Surrogate) question

My system still be plagued by an erratic problem where when I right click on an icon of office, or the arrow that develops a folder in Microsoft Explorer, the cursor will be starts to turn and does not stop until I go in the Manager of tasks and select DllHost.exe (COM Surrogate) and select "END process". This way I can describe the cursor to this place is that it looks like water when you flush the toilet! As soon as I close COM surrogate the cursor returns to normal and I am able to continue then all operations without problem. It seems that this happens more frequently when I had Internet Explorer open. Things I did to solve this problem are the following:

    1. Done a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit and all programs. S
    2. Updated all drivers and programs to their latest revisions.
    3. Run Malwarebytes, an anti Root Kit MRT and Windows Defender Of-Line (booted from DVD) and find all own.
    4. Perform a clean boot.
    5. sfc/scannow

LLA a recommendation that I have not done is to go into Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and disable DEP for COM surrogate (one in SysWOW64 (cannot disable one in System 32 folder).)

Other suggestions for something try to solve this problem?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From your post, it seems that you are facing problems with dllhost.exe (Com Surrogate).

    Try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

To find out if the problem is with windows or some hardware connected to the computer, I would say that you look up the number in safe mode . If the problem occurs in Mode safe, then one of the Windows Service can cause the problem.

    Method 2:

You can also go into Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and disable DEP for COM surrogate. To change the setting of the DEP and for more information on DEP check the links provided.

  • It is normal to dllhost.exe 3 running at the same time?

I found 3 clocked dllhost.exe to thhe same time in windows 7 Professional is that normal or I have a virus?

    Hello

I wish to inform you that it is possible that the number of instances of dllhost.exe is running at the same time.

Dllhost.exe is the Windows DCOM DLL host process. It executes the DLL COM + and control processes in Internet Information Services (IIS). As such, is used by many different applications, including Visual Basic and .NET applications.

However, there are a lot of viruses under the same name and could easily infect a computer. Let us perform a full scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner mode without failure.

Download Microsoft Safety Scanner, start the computer using safe mode and run a full scan.

Safe mode is an option of troubleshooting for Windows that starts your computer in a limited State. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started.

Follow the link below to learn how to do it.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Run a virus scan complete and check if the problem is resolved.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a security tool free to download that allows demand analyses and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Question of running - y dllhost.exe and dllhost.exe processes * 32 (COM Surrogate) safe?

I have a question about some process running for all users in the Task Manager.  I noticed the following:

  • Windows 7 dllhost.exe memory leak

Help!  Dllhost.exe develops as the blob until resources have disappeared and the thumbnails are turning to icons, slowed down looking for files

When I search for images on my readers, the thumbnails do work not after only a little time to research.  In addition, the thumbnails on the desktop, or when searching for files open in windows, because the images are not displayed correctly.  In the resource monitor > memory tab, I can see dllhost.exe is growing like the blob.  If I finish the dllhost.exe process tree, back to normal and my icons of things back miniature shortly, dllhost.exe generates again and develops.  I can crush as I'm playing whack-a-program of times and finally to see the thumbnails.

I searched and found only the most banal answers are no help.  I have no viruses.  My son has the same problem with its Quad core I7 system running Windows 7 pro.  System caches are cleaned regularly, and the system works perfectly in every other sense.  Is no video thumbnails.  It's thumbnails of photo as .jpg and .png

  • Dllhost.exe - application error windows 7 what happens if upgrading to Windows 10

After a power failure that I realized when power has been restored that my computer had been left there on before the failure - 3 days now I get a dllhost.exe - application error message.   I have not installed any new programs or updated everything I know before the current problem.  My question is if I download the new Windows 10 will be cela correct/fix problem dllhost.exe - my computer currently the s running on Windows 7

I suggest that you enable restoring the system so that it is available the next time that you need.  Note that the system restore must be enabled on the operating system drive, there is no need to enable restoring the system on disks.

Regarding the dllhost.exe - application error message I suggest that you run a Malwarebytes and a TDSSKiller scan on the machine.  If these find no parasites, then don't look at the registry of the possible clues, this error can be caused by any software installed on the computer.
