Swap DVD on Tecra M5

I have an M5 with a DVD player that I would like to replace it with a burner. I tried one of the discs of Sony Optiarc replacement but despite Sony advising me that it is compatible, there was a difference in the rear socket which ended this approach. Are replacement discs available?

Hello

  • Not able to write CD or DVD on Tecra A4

Since the last time I posted my problem of not being able to write CDs or DVDs using TECRA A4 with Mat * 830s DVD burner, I tried all the methods that have been suggested, but without success. I tried to update the firmware to version 2, but I wasn't able to update the firmware. I get the target drive not connected message.

Hmm, so it's the pathetic situation, I am not able to write even a CD single in 2 years I bought the Toshiba Tecra A4. Whenever I put a CD in it says "D: / incorrect function." Is there a solution to this? I expect a last hope to make it work.

At the end of my patience, if I can't write a single CD even after 2 years.

    Hello

    > but I wasn't able to update the firmware. I get the target drive not connected message.
This message appears because you have used a wrong firmware and is not compatible!

However, I have read you first assignment and all advice offered were ok.
    But have you checked that?

Try going into control panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager and then under dvd/cd devices select the drive and right click and uninstall and then reboot and see if it helps.

Please check if deleting UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the registry helps:

I couldn't find anything (like a button or a screw) that it locked in.

    Hello

The ODD on Tecra M3 is fixed with a screw on the lower side of the laptop. You must remove this screw first before you can remove the ODD.

Underside, there is a latch to remove the ODD. To remove first the screw next to the latch, then slide the battery bay latch, then you are able to remove the ODD.

  • No sound when watching DVD on Tecra S1

When playing DVDs on my Tecra S1 (WIN XP), through any medium whatsoever, I Can hear music, sound effects, etc., but no speech at all. I guess I must miss a Codec or driver somewhere, but can't find any.

    Help, please!

    Hello

You won't need the codex if you use programs specifically designed for watching DVDs.
The WinDVD or PowerDVD software is a good choice.

Another question; have you tried to play and watch original movies or you have copied the DVD?

  • BIOS doesn't recognize the new drive to CD/DVD on TECRA S1

Replaced my default drive SD-R2412 with a new SD-R2512. Unfortunately, when I boot the drive is not recognized. Any help or advice gratefully received.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Don t think you would be able to solve this problem without to replace the CD/DVD drive again.

You get an IDE #1 error message. Am I wrong? This happens because your CD/DVD drive supports master/slave/c-salt settings wrong!
Because no compatible settings BIOS cannot recognize it properly.

In your case I would contact the local ASP for more information on compatible CD/DVD players and get a new one.

    Good luck

  • Tecra A9 - how to change the DVD?

Can someone help with instructions how to change DVD for Tecra A9 model PTS52A please. Thank you

    Hi t.,

As far as I know the laptop is fixed with a screw on the lower side that you can remove. But I think we should remove the keyboard as well to remove what the CD/DVD drive. So if you are not familiar with the disassembly of the laptop, you will have to help a technician for laptop.

Otherwise, you can search with Google to find Web sites, they show how to disassemble the laptop. ;)

  • Tecra 9000: Problems with 2nd Battery Pack in Slim SelectBay

    Hello

When I insert the second battery (PA3074U-1BAT) in Slim Select Bay the battery does not charge and is not recognized by the Tecra 9000 laptop: status led on the front is not lit.

If I insert the DVD of Tecra drive for example, everything works fine.

I know that the battery is 100% working since I put it in another Tecra 9000 occurs flawlesly.

Why doesn't the laptop to work with the second battery? Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I put t knows exactly why the second battery does not work in your Tecra 9000, but I found another display created by your all about this Tecra 9000 and looks that you have disassembled the laptop, and maybe you have damage or not connected something.

In my opinion, every single computer laptop part should be checked again!

  • Tecra A8 repartitioning or reinstall from scratch

    Salvation & All Good day,

This is my first post here and I need help for my new Tecra A8-185. The seller has delivered the laptop with a single partition of 100 GB while I like to keep the 2 partitions (partition system & data partition).

It is directed by the suggestion of one of the Oracle products. Can anyone suggest how to on this subject? Is there a way to reduce the size of the existing partition or do I have to delete the existing partition & reinstall entire OS? I only produced Recovery DVD with Tecra.

What happened to these utilities Toshiba & Bundle software provided only at the disk and there is no media?

    Any suggestions / ideas?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello Vivek

If your laptop is not yet configured for your work I recommend using recovery media and use the CONFIGURATION option to create two partitions. The OS will be installed on the first. After having done that, you can configure OS for your own needs.

In my view, it is certainly more simple and easiest way.

  • Can't boot from DVD or CD

    Hi all...  I have a W700, Type: 2758.

I have my formatted disks and I want to reinstall the o/s.  When I turn on the machine with a disc, the message I get is "Device not found" or "No valid operating system".

    1. my boot order has "ATAPI CD0: model HL - DT - STDVDRAM GT33n-(TS)" as the FIRST device.  This unit has "No valid operating system" written next to it.

    2. I have two drives, that I am trying to boot from.  The first is a Windows 7 boot disk and then the BIOS CD that I got on the Lenovo site.  My results are the same regardless of which disc is in the DVD player.

    3. I swapped DVD drive with a co-worker to ensure that it works correctly.  The DVD player works in fact.

    4. I checked the two disks on my other PC and I have no problem to read.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Never mind... I got a hold of a DVD USB, taaa daaaa, it sees the drive instantly.

While I am still completely confused on why I can't boot from the built-in DVD, I at least can I install the o/s now.  (Again, I've even changed embedded... DVD)

    Well...

    Have a great day everyone...

  • Windows 7 cannot install

Hey all, a first for me here.

I have a computer on which a customer brought it's a made-to-measure machine that someone set up for him, although an amateur.
    Anywho, the machine is an Asus P8H77-M, a 2500 k, 2 x 4 GB DDR3 LG dvd/rw Sandisk SSD
Due to some virus nasty windows was well watered and wouldn't start. I made an image of the drive to save its information
Jumped into a windows 7 installation media, formatted the drive and tried to install it, it gets to the part of files in expansion and errors out 0 x 80070570
I have updated the bios to the latest stable version on the site of Asus. By default optimized loading and tried again, same result. Swapped dvd players, same result. Exchanged in a whole new drive tested just to rule out the possibility of the ssd in the output of the machine, even.
Then I tried another version of windows. I put in a Windows Vista SP2 installation disc, and it happened without problems...
So I thought that my support for 7 installation was bad, I tried on a laptop computer that was in need of a new installation, and it went without problems.
I burned another copy of 7 offshore, a very slow 4 x and tried again in the Office of issue... Same result 0 x 80070570 every time I try to install windows 7
    Any suggestions?

  • In Tecra A8 DVD drive replacement

My DVD player is down, I already have a replacement drive.

Does anyone have an idea where the output of the DVD player is located so I can get out? I unscrewed a few screws, but it won't come out.

Tecra A8 is the same as the Satellite Pro A120

To swap the DVD drive, you must remove the keyboard.
It's a little tricky and in my opinion if you n t have much experience with this you should go to a local ASP and ask a technician for help.

Here, you can search an ASP:

  • CD/DVD Tecra A2 problem

Was a problem with my carpet * a reader of DVD-RAM UJ 820 S on the Toshiba Tecra A2.

Was working fine until I tried to copy songs from a CD on the computer, on which he could not complete the operation and seemed at hand making a sort of buzz.

I cancelled the process and released the CD but although CD I put it it doesn't recognize it and if I go to D: / (CD player) he says the disc has 0 bytes used space and free space of 0 bytes.

Windows offers everything goes well and I tried to play with the drivers, but of course, as I have the actual driver on a Toshiba CD I can't do anything with that!

Kudos to anyone who can give me advice,

    Mark

    Hello
seems to be that your DVD-Ram has a malfunction.

Just to ybout sure, try to start from a CD or DVD in Dos Mode. If this also fails, contact a Toshiba Service Center for control of your laptop.
