  • Color management - Indesign with images PS calibrated?

    How to:

    In PS CMYK color space looks great with laser printer. Printer and the monitor are calibrated - so what you see is what you get - but only in PS.

    When images are imported into Indesign or or convert to PDF the colors are awful, dirty, with a cast.

    What is the best way to preserve the color when using images in different design software.

    Color space replace even if is all printed on the same laser CMYK printer.

    Any help would be great. Thank you.

    If the space of CMYK in Photoshop is correct:

    1. open the InDesign document.

    2 edit: assign profile. By CMYK, select the profile with images from Photoshop. Note: when you do this, if you have any native InDesign CMYK swatch, the color that can change their appearance, but CMYK values are kept (usually the goal sought for generations of CMYK color).

    3 window: exit: overview of separations. Images must match the color you see in Photoshop.

    4 file: export: PDF. Use a PDF / X standard (such as PDF/X-4). By production, the output intent profile should be document CMYK.

    5. open the PDF file in Acrobat. Advanced: Print: Preview the output. Images must match the color you see in Photoshop.

    EDIT: for step 1, the verification of the images, Edit profile: assign the profile in Photoshop. But just to check, do not change.

  • [Beginner] Swatch vs. color

    Hello

    I have a small question about swatch and color.

    I have a table and I try to change the border of the table (weight, color and type)

    1 / for the style

    myTable.TopBorderStrokeType = myDocument.StrokeStyles [g];

    I'm trying to find the 'solid', 'outset', then 'Insert' style (style), but I do not have. I try g of 1 to 20 and no style like this. How can I find it?

    In c#, I can't use myDocument.StrokeStyles.item("Solid") and I have not found a method like StrokStyles.GetByName ("Solid") or something like that.

    Any idea?

    2 / for the color

    I have a big problem:

    myTable.BottomBorderStrokeColor = createColor (hexToRGB (int. Parse (array. Attributes ["borderColor"]. InnerText)));

    /*
    * A decimal color convert a RGB color
    */
    hexToRGB private array (int color)
    {
    int [] rgb = new int [3];

    RGB [0] = (color > > 16) & 0xFF;
    RGB [1] = (color > > 8) & 0xFF;
    RGB [2] = color & 0xFF;

    return RGB;
    }

    }

    When I try this. A mistake. I can't convert InDesign.Color in InDesign.Swatch.

    I try to create a new shade, but the method as: myDocument.Colors.add () does not exist for swatch. I'm doing some tests but unfortunately they did not work.

    So what I'm supposed to do?

    It's very complicated for a small colored :'(border :'(

    Thank you for your response.

    PS: when my project is over, I'll post a tutorial for InDesign Scripting in c# to help other adventurers. Where do I post it?

    (Sorry for my English mistakes. French inside )

    Oh. C# is definitely not the way to script InDesign...

    Here is an example in JS with all arguments:

    I don't know if you can spend not defined in c#. If so, just let them

    everything that the undefined.

    If you can not pass not defined (and I guess that's the case), try

    this:

    I'm passing an empty array as the third argument and adjustment of the

    UndoMode to the entire script with a script of my fancy Script name.

    app.doScript (myFunction, ScriptLanguage.JAVASCRIPT, [],

    UndoModes.ENTIRE_SCRIPT, "My fancy Script");

  • Import a flat .psd or laminates gives different colors in InDesign

    I have a file .psd RGB, with sRGB profile. When it is placed in InDesign, the appearance of the colors as expected.

    When in Photoshop the background layer is double clicked (to make a layer), and the file is saved without any change.

    the colors in InDesign seem dull (as if there is some sort of current CMYK simulation).

    This happens with all the other images on the page where it is placed.

    On other pages, the flat file still looks raw and RGB - ish, but as soon as a layered file is added, the colors change.

    As soon as I delete the image in layers, colors go back to high heat. Sometimes in Print, Web, and Digital Publishing mode.

    I don't want any of this! (I use InDesign to make a presentation to the screen, and I like the look of the RGB image, but who are Cinema 4 d returns, I need a few institutions overlay)

    Any ideas on that?

    Thank you!

  • Mix colors Pantone - like CMYK channels?

    Hey everybody,

    I just registered on the forum and had a look. Hello to all and I'm happy forums like this are around!

    So, my question is I hope that whoever is possible. I looked away but can't find no difinitive answer or maybe I did not write the question right but that's...

    What I want to do [in photoshop], treat 4 colors pantone CMYK channels. I mean by I would like to replace the Cyan, Magenta, yellow and black with my own colors [pantone colors] and ask them mix and act exactly like these channels. As when I open a full color image and my pantone [or any color] channels or color profile is activated, the full color image will react to these colors [with the mixture of colors].

    Instead of 45% yellow Cyan, 55% Magenta, 83% and 2% black in a given location, it would be a mixture of the 4 colors chosen [example: 45% pantone A, 55% Pantone B, 83% Pantone C, 2% Pantone D].

    or to say it another way, if I was to color the background in, say, a blue, I would be able to use the "Info" Panel to see how each pantone color was mixed to create this color. Of course, there would be a limit to the colors that I could create based on the pantone colors, that I select.

    I don't want to do anything with this printing technique. I'm looking to him only as a spectator to the screen, or maybe use it in a certain way for screen printing.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance.

    How about using outdated color management settings, pre-profil CCI?

    Enter your color schemes, and select Custom CMYK as your working CMYK space. Under the colors of ink, select custom, defined the four colors by the eye and check the estimate overprints. It won't be very accurate and it would be certainly better done using color profiles, but I suppose you expect not much accuracy. And don't forget to change your settings back to something more appropriate for litho printing, if you don't have any.

  • Color CMYK InDesign Picker is covered by Pantone

    I am trying to add a new color to cmyk to my color palette in InDesign, but it is partially covered by the Pantone value field. I can see the line for Cyan, but everything else is covered. It is a sporadic problem, sometimes, it works very well and is sometimes does not work. Has anyone experience this problem?

  • Lack of Pantone colors in Indesign CS6

    Pantone + bridge or Pantone color + solid using some colors seem to be missing or out of sequence. For example, when you type in Pantone 585 it by default 5855. Adobe suggests the downgrading of a previous book of color (but warn the colors will be not accurate on all software) - ideas?

    In ID, type 585 and press the space bar. Should work.

  • Illustrator 282C pantone color numbers different for example RBG, CMYK, Web color compared indesign colors and photoshops which has the same values of color for the two C. 282 I typed in a different color and the same issue. Why would it be different in a

    This is illustrator

    It's photoshop

    Libraries are the same? The two RGB colors are different and they have different look on the screen.

    None of this has to do if you are not working with color management and conversion of spot color to a CMYK process color, which seems to be the case here...

  • Impossible to search for some color Pantone + 4 digits

    I cannot research some Pantone colors + in Adobe InDesign. I installed the Pantone color Manager. For example: I can find 2171C in the Pantone color Manager, but in InDesign I can search only 217, he will not have to enter the fourth number. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time!

    Joel,

    Make sure that you have exported the swatch (es) Version 2 for ID and use. Just start typing and the word Pantone and a number fills the search box. Highlight the color number, and then type the number of 2171.

  • Profile of color in InDesign question

    I created a shade using a Pantone color:

    But in the color Panel, it appears as a color lab:

    Screen Shot 2013-06-10 at 5.28.41 PM.png

    And when I have the mouse on the swatch in the swatches Panel, I see these values in the floating yellow box above the sample that appears on mouseover.

    The ink Manager is not to use the lab for task values:

    Why InDesign converts the tones of colors lab? In addition, fusion of transparent space is set to CMYK (if it's relevant).

    Any help would be great.

    Best thing is to try it. Open the PDF in Acrobat and open the output Preview Panel. Your Pantone (s) will be listed if it is present at the bottom of the list.

  • 1-bit TIF or BMP images showing not true apply color in InDesign

    Update last night all latest versions CC Adobe (Photoshop 2015.5, 2015.3 of Illustrator, InDesign, 11.4.0.90, x 64). Now with the current version of placed InDesign 1 bit TIF or BMP images do not display their true color such as shown as applied in the Swatches palette. The images show black on the screen. Note that I have found is if the image is split by the brake control (Alt-do drag the image) and then you under replication (Ctrl-Z) then the original then appears as the correct color. This question has been duplicated on more than one PC (in Windows 7) and various choice of colors with the game to display typical and high performance. Is this a bug?

    This has been reported as a bug. Overview of overprinting should show the appropriate color for now.

    Lisa,

    You can get the Pantone Color Manager, which is free when you use the serial number in your address printed samples (on the second or third page) and then select the library you need.

    Or you can download the free 30 day trial of Pantone Color Manager and add the libraries from here.

    Here is where to put them:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2015\Presets\en_US\Swatches CC.

  • Color in InDesign CS6 profile

    Hello

    How to remove the color profile in InDesign.

    Srinivasan

    InDesign allows you to assign a CMYK and RGB profile to the document. The CMYK profile controls the display and the conversion to CMYK, RGB profile handles display and the conversion of RGB color. You can change the document via Edit profile assignments > assign profile... or you can convert the colors in the document and swatches via Edition > convert to profile... If you use convert color values are modified and the new profile is assigned.

    Edit > assign profile... you can choose to throw (use a current workspace). In this case the document doesn't have a profile and the color will be displayed by any other profile happens to be set as the workspace.

    I found the API to set the color of the tag XML in InDesign CC 2015 as below:

    IXMLTagCommands::SetTagColor(IDataBase* db, UID tag, UID color);

    But I cannot yet understand where I can get the UID of different colors. Can someone help me with the file name for the same thing?

    Also, is it possible to get the XML tag color?
