  Hi guys.

  I'm kinda a n00b when it comes to development of blackberry, bare with me.

  I have my app works well with JDE 5.0, but I need to make another version that works with 4.5 (or maybe even before), so I have a few questions:

  * How to actually install an older version of the JDE that works with the eclipse plugin?  I tried to download the old JDE, install, then going through the motions of adding a new JRE, but it doesn't seem to be a definition (.ee) with the JDE file.

  * How people face duty to support both versions of the software in Eclipse?  People need to just two completely different projects?  do you have a clever way of sharing code?

  Actually there is not that much difference between the touch and the railroad, just be the code for a custom field to allow you to scroll on a bitmap using TouchEvents.

• Automation of shared review for Reader using the Acrobat 9 software development kit

  I am new to the Acrobat SDK kit, but also writing plug-ins.

  However, I was instructed to implement a 'shared check' in Reader for collaborative proofing.  I understand how to do this using the "Send for shared review" Wizard in Acrobat, but I need to automate this process.  PDF files which will be a protection at a meeting of "Shared review" using player emerged a Hotfolder process, so there is no physical end user to run the Acrobat 9 "Send for shared review" for each PDF.  I need to automate this process.

  I was told that the SDK would allow this, but at the same time, I read a few posts claiming this can be done in the SDK and LiveCycle is required.

  Can someone confirm that the SDK can activate a PDF of "shared control"?  If so, how this is done?

  If it cannot be done, is the only option for LiveCycle or can a macro Acrobat written to simulate the Wizard "Send for shared review"?

  There is no automation facilities to "Send for shared review" in the Acrobat SDK kit - so this isn't an option.

  I don't think that the latest version of LiveCycle can do it either...

  Someone known errors from the linker relaction after upgrade of NDK 10.2 when linking to create in-house static libraries to the executable?

  Compile static libraries with - fPIC seems to fix the problem, however, curious as to why this has just creeped upward. Perhaps from the old project files using different default compiler settings?

  Hello.

  That's a likely scenario.  There was a 10.1 change that had t be solved with - fPIC, but that latest IDEs use models that account for it properly.

• Error when you try to run the script by using the software development kit at the start of the plugin

  I am trying to run a script when my InDesign plugin loading. I called the PanelTreeView sdk sample for example and implemented a Boss StartupShutdown

  In my implementation, in the startup() method, I have the code to get the scriptManager and the scriptRunner for my javascript I want to run. However, when my code hits the following line:

  InterfacePtr < IScriptRunner > theRunner (() Utils < IScriptUtils >-> QueryScriptRunner (scriptFile)); ScriptFile is the script ID file I want to run

  I get error saying "Calling ScriptInfoDatabase::InitScriptInfoManager until resources have been registered".

  I wonder how I can fix this error. or if it of too early to call scriptrunner, then is there another place where I can call him to scriptrunner run my script

  Depends on your version of InDesign, you can plan an IdleTask and do it from there or just use a lazy start.

  Again depends on your version of InDesign, you first need to check if a script can if run at all - some other nasty plugins can prevent with modal dialog boxes.

  Finally, there is the ability to run scripts to start even without plugin...

• Switching in Eclipse workspaces

  I've been developing projects in Eclipse using the 4.2.1 component pack. I now want to develop a project using the 4.7.0 component pack. I created a new Eclipse workspace with his own BlackBerry project and workspace and configure it to use the 4.7.0 component pack. When I switch back to the older workspace, the component pack is always set to 4.7.0 and I have to back to 4.2.1 how insists on all cleaning projects. When I switch back to the 4.7.0 workspace, the same thing happens. This isn't exactly an aid to productivity.

  Is it possible to configure things so that each Eclipse workspace maintains its own component preferences?

  When you want to work with 4.3, replace net.rim.eide.keys.Configuration.prefs with the version 4.3. When you want to work with 4.7, then replace it with version 4.7.

  Hi Kiran,

  The object that is returned when GET-ting/api/admin contains a element indicating the version of vCD. It is available in both API 1.0 and 1.5.

  Because I'm not very up-to-date with software development kits, someone familiar with the Java SDK can direct you to the class concerned representing this API call.

• Remote web panel Embedded Software Evaluation Kit LV8.6

  I recently bought the evaluation of embedded software package that comes with the trial version of FPGA, RT LV8.6 90 days... and even though I have sucessfully worked through the tutorial, with the kit I came across a problem when you try to run a remote web site, Panel as it list loading 0% but never proceeded beyond this point.

  After fishing trawl through many discussion forums, I came across a post that gave one of the reasons for this as being due to having a later version of LabVIEW run time engine installed on the PC - only by removing LabVIEW 2011 could I get the web to run Panel.

  My question is how to manage several versions of LabVIEW if I wish (and) to install multiple versions of LabVIEW and still be able to run a command remotely through LV8.6?

  Hi Helen,

  With LabVIEW development versions, you can disable (using the License Manager OR), but given that the engines of execution are not allowed you can not disable that.

  You could try one of your LabVIEW versions running on a virtual machine, what separates them from the other.

  I apologize for the problem you are having, I appreciate that it disadvantages you somewhat, but I assure you that your team of R & D to address the issue.

  Hi, I just fell on the development of the VBAI kit... and it seems quite interesting. There are two things I wonder about... when I try and install VBAI 2009 with the SDK it asks me to install labview 8.5... is it still a requirement? and the second thing, motion can NOT be used inside the custom step?

  (1) Yes, the SDK for Vision Builder AI 2009 requires LabVIEW 8.5.  The good news is that the SDK for Vision Builder AI 2010 will work with LabVIEW 2010, so there is no need to install an older version of LabVIEW to create custom, native-looking steps.  LabVIEW 2010 published during NIWeek, and Vision Builder AI 2010 is currently in beta.

  (2) Yes, NI Motion can be used inside the custom step.  The SDK provides initialization steps, Runtime, and cleaning, which may well work for several drivers for example NOR-DAQmx or NOR-Motion.

  Remember, however, that if you find that you are creating a lot of custom for Vision Builder AI steps, he would be a better idea to just the application program in LabVIEW from the outset.
