Switch (SGE2010) Firmware update

Hello

Could someone walk me through the process of a software update on a SGE2010.

I usually use TFTP - but I don't see the TFTP command on of these SGE2010

Step by step would be great.

Thank you.

Jake

Hi Jake, update the firmware, connect to the switch GUI and navigate admin-> upgrade firmware file management

File type - image of the software

TFTP - your TFTP server

Name - just the file name and the extension of the code of the firmware

Apply

Once the firmware has been downloaded, click on the Finish"" button. Then navigate to the active image. Usually, the switch is on frame 1. Change of image 2. Apply it, then reboot the switch

    Hello

in recent years, I have visited this site.

I'm trying to update my 716v2 to version firmware, version 18 running 19.

Using http download I can select the extracted the zip as a .stk file but the downoad never starts.

I tried this a Mac and a PC running in parallels on the MAC and nothing happens.

If left long enough the session times out.

I forgot to add this switch has 2 VLANS active and I'm doing the upgrade of the designated vlan.

    Hi people,

fixed the problem of say it both on the switch. The sad thing about the firmware update process is the lack of process indicators.

After updating the switch sees a little faster and yes it has been restarted recently to overcome locking port that would not speak directly to a processor intel NIC on the firewall, but through a 'normal' switch

  • SGE2010 - Firmware upgrade and config does not save

    Hi all

I have a few questions, but ill start with what im trying to achieve.

With the help of the EMS 2010 for Microsoft NAP with 802.1 x auth for access to the switch, which has led to some questions

What I have: an EMS 2010 48 port switch firmware 3.0.0.17

Firmware update: to ensure im not having not problems due to the old firmware, I tried to upgrade using ros_ls1_bp_ge_bx - 3020.ros to 3.0.2, by downloading the file through TFTP, the transfer is complete and that's all, nothing happens.

Restarting the device: as part of the upgrade process, I thought I might restart, so I rebooted and found that all my settings were cleaned, as if a reset occurred... and add further pain, the backup of the settings I had taken do not appear to introduce themselves with a new request.

NAP support: so I tested my server NPS (RADIUS) with NTRadping.exe and everything is good, however I can't the SGE2010 to talk to it... the authenticator State in the web interface is still listed as initializing... I'm not sure if it is a simple mismatch (where the attempt of a firmware upgrade), a tag that should be on the side of RADIUS or switch misconfig.

    So, in summary:

    (1) how the hell you upgrade the firmware?

    (2) why are none of my saved settings to restart the device?

    (3) if anyone one of them puts up with PAN and has all wisdom of bone beads, let me know.

Hi Ben, once you update the firmware, you need to go to the active image, apply the second image. Restart the unit. Regarding the configuration of switch, you must save the configuration running at startup configuration

Admin-> file management-> copy files (running at startup)

  • FS728TP attention firmware update!

Too bad, you can ruin a good switch poe by a stupid firmware update. Tried to update my FS728TPv1 to the latest 5.0.0.8 3.0.0.22. Downloaded the zip file, you start the procedure to update with discovery of the smart wizard, message received "updated successfully"... but after reboot the switch is bricked. Did some reading, found I'm not the first guy with this case, should be updated first, startup code from 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.0.5. But it was not a code starting update file in the zip! I found somewhere on the netgear firmware french site the oldest 5.0.0.6, which contains ng_fs728tp - V5006.ros and ng_fs728tp_boot - 1005.rfb. I feel so stupid, I'm?... to open the switch box, found 88E6218-LG01 Marvel, used on some routers 10 years ago chip. anyone find a procedure to revive the switch, a tftp, a series or something connection session. I know netgear offer guaranteed for life and replace the switch, but not my case... just feel sorry a switch of the brick work

There is a solution, in case you brick the switch to update the firmware, do not update the boot code appropriate. The boot code is some program low level similar to the bios on the card. Did some deep research on Marvel 88E6218-LG01 Chipset, I found somehow that pin 52 and 53 are Rx and Tx respectively to integrated serial UART. The two signals are 12 (Rx) and IC U27 PIN 11 (Tx). The IC and passive components around him are not soldered because the switch is not a serial console. Near U27 is the serial J8, not used. The U27 is a similar to max232 chip. The idea is to make a connection with the switch using p52 series = Rx, p53 = Tx and, of course, GND, I soldered the wires to p11 and 12 of the U27. Then do a session in Hyperterminal using baudrate = 38400, data bits = 8, parity = none, stop bits = 1, flow control = none. Power on the switch, you will see power on self-tests, boot network device based on 88E6218 software version with ARM946E-S then: autoboot in 2 seconds, press return or ESC to interrupt and enter the dance. In those 2 seconds interval if you press the INPUT switch goes to the start with 6 options menu: 1 = software download 2 = flash file Erase 3 = 4 = diagnostic mode password recovery procedure entry 5 = Set baudrate terminal 6 = back. Choose option 1) then the switch is waiting for the firmware file "code using XMODEM download, $$$ writing and waiting...". Now go to hyperterminal transfer, send file > Browse for firmware 3.0.0.22 .ros (before update wrong firmware), choose the XMODEM Protocol, and then click Send. File transfer begins, will take about 25 minutes. After that the switch restarts correctly, and discovery of the smart wizard he found. Update the firmware on 5.0.0.6 family must 1.0.0.5 to update the BOOT CODE. The boot - 1005.rfb can be found on this website: http://www.netgear-forum.com/forum/index.php?s=7d23113dd1660e3c9d613aa739513390&showforum=704 , in 5.0.0.6 zip of the firmware. Have fun...

  • E260 keeps restarting, firmware update does not help

    Hey everybody

So I'm trying to fix my Sansa e260 friends and I'll get in trouble. When you turn it on, it just continuously restarts itself, I've included a video of what he does. http://Tinypic.com/r/2wq78jp/6

I have already searched through this forum and tried the firmware update, after the update exactly the same thing just keep to themselves. I don't know where to go from here, any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Formatting the device using the Recovery Mode.  This erases all the materials for the device, but it's locked up in any case.

For this procedure, first of all we have this word from our sponsor:

In Recovery Mode, do not USE NOT THE COMMAND FORMAT WINDOWS ON THE PARTITION RESERVED.  Use the trick of ONLY sansa.fmt folder!

Well, here are the steps (features of version 1 only):

    • Start with your OFF e200.
    • Slide the HOLD switch to the right (orange list).
    • Open a Windows Explorer on your PC.  Use my computer or [Windows key] + E.
    • Press and hold the REC button on your e200 while plugging in the USB cable.
    • The Sansa will specify "Welcome to Recovery Mode, type MSD."
    • On the PC, you will see a new device labeled 16 MB FORMAT.
    • Double-click this icon to open the reserved partition.  Yet once, DO NOT format using the available Windows command!
    • Right-click in this partition and select new folder.
    • Rename it sansa.fmt folder and you're ready!
    • With the help of remove it safely function (icon at the bottom of your screen in the taskbar), eject the Sansa.
    • Slide the HOLD switch to the left.
    • Try turning your restored e200 once she gets in shape automatically.

Let us know how it goes!

  • Sansa Clip freezes at startup and on the firmware update

After unplugging my video to my computer, it is hung on the screen "Connected".

I forced a reset by pressing the power switch it 10 seconds

He then restarted and hung on the Sansa screen

I followed the instructions given in these forums in order to download the update of the firmware, mount the Clip in MSC mode and install the firmware.  Unplug the Clip, it hangs at "Update Firmware in progress" screen.

I then re-mounted the Clip in MSC mode and deleted all the files of music and the update of the firmware.  After disconnection, he hooked again on the Sansa screen.  I then mounted in MSC mode and re-installed the update of the firmware.  He is now suspended again at the screen to update the firmware.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The following procedure restored the Clip, but requires access to a Windows operating system:

    1. Tower Mounting Clip in MSC mode off camera (now switch is in position 10 sec If necessary 'on'). Set the switch to position 'Hold '. While pressing the "Select" Center, plug it into the USB port on a Windows computer. Wait for Windows to recognize the device before you release the "Select" button

    2. format of the Clip Double click on 'My Computer' to open a window of the Explorer. You should now see the video listed as a reader. Right click on the video player icon and select "Format". Select "FAT32". Do not check the box "quick format". Format the drive.

    3. Finish you can now disconnect the Clip of the computer and it should behave as a Clip of the new out-of-the-box. If you wish, you can download Sansa Updater software from the web site of Sansa (Sansa > support > Clip > downloadsansa Firmware Updater) and run it to install the latest version of the firmware on your device.

  • WRT54G v4 unusable web interface after firmware update

I tried to upgrade (actually downgrade) my WRT54G v4 firmware 4.30.11 to 4.21.1. When the progress bar reaches the mark to halfway, I got the message saying that the upgrade was successful. However, now the web interface is so messed up that it is unusable. It's a sign that something went wrong.

Power, WLAN, Ethernet 1, and Internet lights are all green solid, which should be a good sign. After the upgrade, the web interface says "WRT54G 4.21.1', which is the firmware messed up I am downloading. Browsers, then restart my computer, I have confirmed that it is a router problem, not a problem of the browser cache. I also tried to do a hard reset by pressing the reset for 30 seconds button, unplug the router while holding down the button of reset for 30 seconds and then plug the router while holding down the button of reset for another 30 seconds. This has not fixed anything.

I encountered a similar problem after an update of the firmware several years ago and the fix to upgrade the firmware using TFTP. This time, however, the TFTP utility could not download the firmware. Using a hack that I found on the internet, I have re - download the 4.21.1 firmware, but the web interface was always messed up. I then downloaded the 4.30.13 firmware. The web interface is still messed up, but then he said "WRT54GL 4.30.13. I then went to the firmware I wanted, WRT54G 4.21.1. The web interface is still screwed up, but said «WRT54G 4.21.1»

Anyone know how to solve the problem? Yet once, it took place immediately after a firmware update, the web interface is unusable, is not a problem of the browser cache and tried a hard reset.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

My router model is WRT54G v4. The v4 WRT54G and the WRT54GL are generally considered to be the same device with different model numbers. According to the article of Wikipedia WRT54G, "the WRT54GL is technically a reissue of the version 4 WRT54G."

I used the firmware 4.30.X for years without problems. However, I decided to switch to the 'right' firmware for my router and something went wrong during the upgrade.

I solved the problem. I basically just dropped the Linksys firmware and uploaded the DD open source-WRT firmware mini instead. Now everything works fine.

  • SG200 bootloader and firmware, update command

I know how to use tftp to update the device, but I was wondering if there is a particular order I must follow.  For example, can I download boot _and_ fw in a single session and restart the switch?  Or if I might just start code only, reload the switch, then firmware?  Is how important it?  I have two switches with the following specifications

    SwitchA: V01 SG200-50 1.0.0.1/1.0.0.19

    SwitchB: V02 SG200-50 1.1.0.6/1.1.1.8

I would like to take them both at 1.3.5.06/1.3.7.18

    Thank you

    Diego

    Hello Diego,.

I recommend to download the firmware and boot code and then reboot once.  I did all three ways, but the best way would be to download both and then restart the switch once.

Just keep in mind the switch take longer then usual for the first time, once you upgrade boot code because it makes changes to the system startup files.  On the SG300 or higher, you can watch this process with a console cable, but given that the 200 do not have console access you will have to just wait.

It may take up to 5-10 minutes for the first start, I always say whenever he feels like it's been too long, wait a few minutes and then it will be operational.

Oh and in case that you're wondering there is no problem go directly to the latest firmware, there is no need to step up.  However, I would recommend defaulting and manually reconfigure switches, once you upgrade the.  Because there was some change you will be better off with a new configuration based on the new firmware.  It is not always necessary, but if you have any problems once you upgrade it would be the first thing that we would have you to do if you called support.

Hope that helps and thanks for using Cisco,

Re: proxy server annoy 7.6.7 update?

  • Wan interrupts the connection after the firmware update

Looks like the latest firmware upgrade is the source of the problems.

I've just updated my timecapsule 1 TB of first generation version 7.6.7 and my 3 TB timecapsule new version 7.7.7

Both are connected to the router of the provider of Internet services and extend the network even in my house.

WiFi is stable until the upgrade, but now the connection is lost every few minutes or seconds.

Both versions are later to the respective timecapsules.

I end up having to downgrade if no solution is found.

I powered the two market still nothing does not. Redefine the network and tried both hidden and not hidden, yet once nothing doesn't.

Any ideas on what is causing the problem?

Well, since nobody seems to have an explanation, and Apple are not out with firmware update after 7.7.7 and 7.6.7 I decided to downgrade the firmware to the previous version. I now run version 7.7.3 on the new 3 Tb Time Capsule and 7.6.3 on the 1st Gen Time Capsule. So far, the network is stable. Using WiFi Explorer Ii see that they use channel 6 and 8 respectively. Signal is strong and no dropouts have taken place so far. Hope the issue is resolved in the next firmware update.

As I read in another post: firmware update does not solve a problem, you didn't. However, it can create a problem that you didn't.

After applying the firmware update v7.6.7 free WiFi to TimeCapsule is now 2.4 Ghz instead of 5 Ghz.

It was the update of the firmware with certainty that has made this... no doubt about it:

    • My mouse bluetooth interference notice when my MacBook is connected to WiFi 2.4 Ghz;
    • Before the update, everything is OK
    • After updating, my mouse mouse start jittering
    • < alt-click > WiFi icon in the menu bar confirms: the connection is now 2.4 Ghz

Restart to e TM Mo doesn't change anything.

In the TC WiFI options tried to put another name to the network successfully, but only 5 GHz can not connect to it: timeout error every time.

Tried the hard reset of TC and reconfigure the WiFi... the same result, but with a difference:

    • Setting an SSID separated for 5 GHz connection (in the WiFi options) has now created a network I can access.
    • However, this is not the best solution... I don't want 2 SSID.

It is not the first time Apple breaks things with updates... and I see people move away from Apple to this kind of situations.
