  I bought the new MacBook for my father in June 15. He started to use end of August and loved it instantly. Two weeks ago the rear housing began to separate and I took today at the apple store and they said its probably a swollen battery. The gap is increasing day after day.

  They want to replace the rear case and battery. I tried to look online for similar problems with other new MacBook but could not find.

  

  It is unfair that I have ask a replacing a laptop 4 months old? Unfortunately, my father and I are the kind of people who will feel with a device that has been played around with.   You can have the problem repaired under warranty active sn if you take it to your local Apple store. They will not replace the computer if it can be repaired. Just because the battery is faulty don't anyway indicte that is the computer, too.

The bettery is attached to the rear, as described in the manual.
