Satellite P series would not power up until the battery is replaced

Somebody has got this problem because it's the second laptop I have Toshiba with the same problem... Sometimes it does not fuel the good I have the ca card until I remove the battery then replace and then it will fit on... Any ideas please?

HM, this is a strange question. You should maybe at the first attempt to do a BIOS update to the latest version to check if this will eliminate your problem.
Could you please tell me what model you have exactly? Would be useful to know that.

If the BIOS update didn t helped you then you send it to an ASP again because perhaps your problem is hardware related.
You can check this link to find the next ASP available in your country:

http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT

Would appreciate a response from you.

Greetings

    Hello!!!

I am writing this message cause I was using my laptop and sudenlly it shuts. At first, I didn't know why, I tried to turn it on by pressing the botton, but I failed. Then, I thought I had the battery charger unplugged, but it wasn't. After a few minutes I took the battery and connect the charger, then my laptop run.

I spend a few hours searching on the Web sites about problems with the battery charger o, and I find that my laptop doesn't recognize the battery cause of pilots o something like this, so I ASK FOR HELP!
Now, I can only use my laptop if one take out the battery and plug the charger.

If anyone knows what might happened to my laptop, Please HELP.

I forgot, my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C50D-A-12R.

P.D. sorry my English, I'm from the Spain and several years ago, I finally study English.

In General, the laptop should work fine in connection with and without the battery.
The unit should turn on if the battery is removed but connected to the power adapter.

Also if the battery is connected and worn, the unit should operate without the power adapter connected.
So what is wrong here? To be honest, I don't think there could be some sort of driver but first of all problems that you should try to recover the laptop to factory settings just to check if the device works by using the preinstalled Toshiba OS and settings.

If the device does not work properly even after the recovery process, I recommend checking the functionality of the laptop as part of the NEW pile of good work.

Your device is still covered by the warranty?
If so, you should communicate with the Toshiba ASP because in case of hardware problems, ASP you should fix free device...

  • My Windows XP pro would not let me change the option 'Use the home screen', so I removed a vital .dll file. I can't start Windows now!

My Windows XP pro would not let me change the "Use welcome screen" option under: user accounts/change the way users connect or power off.

He gave a message to the effect (I forgot to write it!) "a recently installed program does not change this setting. Search in the file named "RtlGina2.dll for a clue. So as silly as I can be, I did a search, finds the file RtlGina2.dll in the Windows/System32 folder and cut and paste on my desk. My thought was to isolate this file to see if it will address the problem of not being able to change the option use Windows screen.

Now, I can't run Windows! It gives a message that this file RtlGina2.dll is not found! Specifically, it says, User Interface failure. The UI for logon RtlGina2.dll DLL failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original dll.

How can I replace the dll if I can't even get started? Help, please! I know just enough to get me in trouble I see.

    WyoPathfinder,
Are you able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt?  If Yes, then you can search for the file "dir /s /a RtlGina2.dll" lists the location where you moved to.  Then you can just copy (path\filename) c:\Windows/System32\(filename)

If you do not work in safe mode, then you can boot from a XP disc and go into the recovery console and do the same thing.

Hope that helps. QQ learn manage!

  • In Windows Media Player, my light "Start burn" would not light after dragging the songs on my playlist

In Windows Media Player, my light "Start burn" would not light after dragging the songs on my playlist, he said only "Connect burner and restart". I have already burned a music CD "RW", why he said burner "connect"? The burner is already installed? I tried the "Device Manager" thing wasn't working, thank you for your help. "

    Hello

    1. have you installed any third-party DVD burning software on the computer?
    2. could you give us the exact error message?

    Method 1.
If you have installed a third-party software CD burning remove it and then try to burn the disc and check. Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 - a Mr Fixit

    Method 2.
    a. Click Start and type cmd into the search bar and press ENTER.
    b. in the type guest following command press ENTER.
       WMP.dll regsvr32.exe.
    c. close the command prompt and start Windows Media Player and check.

    Method 3.

You can re-create the database of Windows Media Player and see if that fixes the problem.

Stage i: To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Stage II: If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.
    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion DV7-3162nr: HP Pavilion DV7-3162nr does not turn on and the battery light flashes during charging

I was upgrading my HP DV7-3162nr for windows 10 when all of a sudden the laptop stopped working and would not turn.

The power adapter is plugged in and battery led was flashing. Now battery led does not at all depend on. When I press the Start button the laptop would try to start then turn off after about one second. However most of the time when when I press the button nothing happens.

I took out the battery and tried to immediately start the alternating current, but the laptop is like there is no power. The led near the power connector is on the AC adapter is plugged in. I checked the tension between the adapter and it is correct to about 19 volts, I even loaded to 1.5 Amps and voltage remained close to 19 volts. I tried now on the button for more than one minute with applied power (no battery or AC) and no change when I tried to start with just AC.  The battery is old, but shouldn't the laptop run on just the AC adapter with the battery installed? I do not think that windows 10 has done this, but it's a weird coincidense that he died during the upgrade.

I read about simular problems with flags of HP but nothing exactly like it.  The fact that I can not turn on the laptop with just the adapter seems to be a problem really bad.

Anyone has any ideas I can try to let me know

I was able to fix my laptop.

I thought that it must be a hardware problem, because the laptop would not run just the adapter. And the adapter was good, as I said, he had the right voltage and can support the load.  So after looking at a lot of U tube videos on how to disassemble laptops and looking for schematics on the laptop which I couldn't find. I disassembled the laptop and a beep on the load circuit and it showing. What I found, it was a bad MosFet at the beginning of the charging circuit. The MosFet P/N P0603BDG has shorted door to the Source.  I was able to get the part of China via Ebay for less than $5.00 total and it took a week to arrive.

Now, the laptop charging the new battery and works very well. I could have found the bad MosFet faster if I had diagrams. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the schematics for this HP laptop? I found a manual and it helped a bit to disassemble the laptop, but he had nothing on the main map.

This problem is now solved hope it helps someone out there.

  • SAT L500D does not have to be connected to the power supply until the reboot

    Hi all

I have a L500D, purchased locally and I have a problem that seems to escape correction by the helpdesk of Toshiba. My laptop while operating on battery comes with messages expected that the battery has x % remaining and suggests I plug the laptop into the power supply. I connect the laptop on the adapter and the power of the taskbar icon indicates the adapter is plugged in but it also shows that it does not load (adapter also remains cold, indicating no power is being developed). Low battery messages continue until the laptop stops ultimately. On commissioning again the laptop acknowledges that she attached to the adapter sector and charges upward.

Helpdesk from Toshiba said a new BIOS version had been released and that I should update the BIOS and would probably "fix the problem". Went to the Australian Site and there is no other choice to see downloads for this model L500D [product number], helpdesk then took me on the European site where I updated the BIOS, then spent several hours on the phone with Symantec trying to uninstall and reinstall Norton 360, which ceased its activities and could not be uninstalled leaving my laptop not protected.

Someone at - it an idea of what is the cause and how it might be remedied? Appreciate your thoughts.

    Hello

If you have updated the BIOS and the help of t n right?
Hmm I think that this problem of card mother s that looks like the adapter does not work correctly because everything is ok after new reboot
I think the laptop is under warranty and you should get in touch with a local ASP to discover exactly what s wrong

But I think that it s motherboard related question

  • Satellite M30-107 - will not power

    Can someone please help?

I currently have a problem with my M30-107, model PSM30E-7101V-7U, it lights or boot. All I get is the 'sector' and 'Power' light on the façade and the 'power' of light the multimedia button on top, no beeps or noise from the fan.

One thing I noticed is if I disconnect the HARD drive and turn on the LED of the drive HARD rest turn on, and if I disconnect the DVD player light so that it lights up a second then turns off. Perhaps it is a feature of the model and part of pre-boot BIOS checks - do not know.

At first I thought it was a fault with the motherboard, so I bought an exact replacement, including the USB ports, AV output, network & modem ports and socket connector DC with PCB power distribution, and even the speakers have been replaced! But it made no difference. Still only get the 'power' & 'Power' LED on.

Then I tried to replace the CPU, but still the same. I also tried different RAM in different locations, new modem, removed card network wireless and fitted with a panel of media replacement keys - No difference. Disconnect the LCD screen, DVD player and HARD drive does not seem to make any difference either.

Tonight, I tried capture the wires on the fan and splicing in a new fan using the existing record (I only had a spare with the right connector fan), but that made no difference. I also replaced the battery CMOS with a constant 3v DC supply - but still no luck. He's really starting to annoy me now :-(

I just finished checking the tension of the PCB power distribution, and it seems to provide the motherboard with a constant voltage. I have ran out of ideas now.

Everything has been replaced with the exception of the keyboard & touchpad and the CD key and indicator LED Panel on the front of the laptop.

Anyone has any ideas what to try next? Any advice would be appreciated, I'm starting to pull my hair!

Could someone also tell me the function of the small black chip that is mounted just below the LDC screen inside the lid of the laptop - part number 040-0004-946 Foxconn. I have not replaced either, but if I knew what it was I could be able to test it.

    Hello!

Which is really strange, buddy! :(
Have you tried another AC/DC adapter on this laptop? This is maybe causing this problem and so the laptop can start t properly check it!

To be honest, I think the best way is you go to an authorized service provider. You need professional help, and the technician can check your laptop to determine the cause of this problem.
This problem can't be solved in a few minutes, but it should not be a problem for a technician to the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L550-1CW does not start by pressing the power button / stop

I have a Toshiba Satellite L550-1cw that won't start, lights up when I press the power button all the lights at the front, the fan starts and he is looking for a HARD drive for about 2 seconds and then stops.

I tried a new HARD drive, but the same happens.
I was told that all this must be ignored and buy a new one that is not an option.
I love this laptop and want to run again as this is the best I have ever owned.

    Help, please

    Andrew

Can you give us more information on this vulnerability?
You see something on the screen after pressing the power button?
You can access the BIOS by pressing the F2 key immediately after switching on the device?

Despite this whole issue, I think that if nothing is visible on the screen it could be a serious problem with one of the following: RAM modules, motherboard, CPU/GPU.

From my experience the RAM memory modules are not very expensive (2nd hand might be good enough) and the replacement isn t very delicate in the case where the faulty memory causes this problem, the laptop could be set for a little money.

But in case of problems of motherboard, laptop repair procedure could be very expensive.

Then I tried the fresh xp copy that also froze before installing the files. I am now using windows 2000 which seem 2 ran fine for a few weeks, but now I have no volume.
I have triede pilot plant but it still would not come. If im use it without volume, but I can't understand why would he not let me install the product or Win XP Recovery disk but would allow win2000 but without volume.

Please help me, thank you very much

    Hello

It is very strange that this unit freeze after the installation of recovery. Please remember that no external devices are connected to the unit when you do this.
It will also be interesting if you have upgraded from memory.

Before using the recovery installation CD you can also try to set default values in the BIOS.

  • iPhone off to 30% of battery and would not turn on until I plugged it?

I have an iPhone with 16 GB of storage 6.  I never had this problem or a question similar to this one before.  I'm currently updating on iOS 9.2.1.

I was walking home from school today and everything trying to remember my mother-in-law, my phone (which is around 35% at this point) cut himself off from any incentive and displays the image bit appears when the phone is too low and he wants that you plug in.  I went back home and as soon as the charger is plugged into the phone (like, literally, the split second he was completely) the phone showed the startup screen white and then fully charged, he had about 30% battery remaining.  This caused a huge problem because my family thought something had happened, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to avoid this problem and solving persistent problems that this could cause.

Also, I didn't know where to post this, so I apologize if it was not in the right section.  Thank you!

The first step to solve this problem is to calibrate your battery. Let your battery drain until your phone stops at 1%. If he dies before, then plug back in it for no more than a minute, unplug it, and then continue to use until you reach 1%. You may need to plug several times.

If this does not work, or if the problem persists, see this article.
