Symbol blackBerry Smartphones without screen SMS messages

My Blackberry Pearl 8120 has no symbol screen for SMS messages and so whenever I get a new message, it goes into the pot in general my 2 email accounts and I review all the messages to see. It has always been like this and I thought it would be OK, but it really starts to bother now. Do I need to download something or get an update? How can I do this?

Thank you

Julie xx

You can separate TEXT Messages and e-mail inboxes by opening your Inbox. Click on the BB button and select Options. And then select General Options, down in the list of parameters is SMS and e-mail accounts - set it to separate.

That should fix it for you.

A lot of times when I text messaging, send long text messages. On my screen at the top, it shows the message symbol and the number 1, but there are no unread messages. I contacted Vodafone and they checked my SIM in another phone and it is not the SIM card. I followed all the instructions in a previous thread (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8900&thread.id=3600), i.e. hard re - adjust, change the theme and change back, and I've updated the phone with the latest version of the software. You can try to clear the database of Messages. Just note that this will clear so all messages from the device. To do this connect the BlackBerry to your computer and go to the Office Manager. In Desktop Manager, go to the backup and restore icon and click on the Advanced button. On the skin of the right hand, you will see the databases of the device. You can select the database of Messages, press the Clear button.

Please get back to me ASAP thankss!

There is an option in the SMS options to 'leave Messages on SIM card' - uncheck the box this and the memory of the device must have enough space to contain a few thousand messages - while the SIM card is limited to 20 or more.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones permanent 1 unread message symbol on the home screen

    Hello!

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 relatively new (I bought 2 months ago!) and symbols at the top of the home screen (for missed calls, messages, unread, etc.) had been working well until a few weeks ago when the symbol of unread message became stuck on the screen for a while now.  I've lived all my messages and even pressed 'U' to find messages unread - but the following message appears:

"No unread messages in the list."

There seems to be no real reason for the symbol to be blown up, since all my messages have been read.

It is annoying me and I really want to get rid of the symbol, since there are no unread messages.

How should I go about this?

    Thank you!

No, reset I described the first bullet of the post above will remove NO contacts or data (or I would have notified you as so).

Similarly, this discount to zero just does NOT turn and the unit. Do it as described above.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how the SMS folder displayed on the home screen?

    Hello

I have a device v4.3 software on my 8110.  I wish I had my SMS messages and email appear in different folders, so I put the General options as 'separate '.  Unfortunately, the only way I can access my SMS is through "view folder".  Is there a way to get a shortcut in the SMS folder on my home screen?

    Thank you!

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi txtmj;

Sorry that I missed it! Have you tried to use a different theme? What theme are you using?

Here is the article of KB of the rim which indicates a possible problem with certain themes.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how before SMS & Email to the Messages folder?

First time BB user, got the flick of BB8220 yesterday. Happy with the service so far.

The only concern I have is that the SMS messages I get are the SMS folder and not the folder of Messages, and it seems to me e-mail aren't either. A friend sent me 3 different messages (BB Messenger, Email, SMS) and 3 went 3 separate files.

Is it possible to have all messages, regardless of type/style, to filter automatically in the Messages folder? It would certainly help the organization time and money.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

    Yes.

You can have all three of those you mentioned go to your main messages folder.

First of all, for SMS. Open your main messages folder > Menu > Options > General Options > Email and SMS Inbox = combined, then SAVE.

Second for the BlackBerry Messenger > open BBMessenger > Menu > Options > show Conversations in message list = Yes, then SAVE.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphones does not receive messages

My torch has stopped receiving texts.

It has been more than two months now, and I don't know what I can do for her.

I'm sure there is a setting somewhere on the laptop itself that has disabled it because several times [it's an ongoing thing] I turn it on and the screen displays a page of preferences of some sort and I am sure that I made a change on some sort of page by accident without realizing it and I do not know is that he cannot receive texts Since I often accidentally found on some unknown page that was opened for some reason any when I turn on the mobile and often wondering Hey is I turn on or turn off a setting here? and then because I left the page I don't know where it is to go back there and check.

thing is I can't find any kind of configuration anywhere, but it must be the only answer given that the mobile should not simply stop receiving texts for some reason any...

someone knows where this kind of adjustment can be?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Only "setting" I can think of is in the firewall. I don't know the exact key sequence on your level of model/OS specific BB (who, btw, or of which you have specified...), but it is normally within the 'Options' and in the Security section. In the settings of the firewall, there is the possibility to completely block SMS messages or only allow those coming from contacts that you have in your address book.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones untrapped Exception error messages

    Hi nGuys,

I was sent an email with a large attachment with it and now I can't access my emails or send texts?

Whenever I try, I am presented with this error message: -.

"Eception exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' and an 'OK' button."

When I click this, (in the vain hope that everything will be OK from here in, it disconnects from the app and I'm at square one!)

That's why making the phone useless.

When I contacted Blackberry support, it says that he does not know of "Eception exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception'?"

Little help would be greatly appreciated: -.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

That's an interesting statement... exactly how did you get that? As in, who did you call? RIM offers zero support to front line for BBs... only via the escalation of a carrier can you receive free support from RIM. You go through your carrier?

Good luck and let us know!
