• Performance 2015.4 for the InDesign update problem

  I hope this isn't a double question. I did a search on the forum and nothing has developed about the overall performance.

  I get very slow performance with InDesign 2015.4 after update from last night. When I scroll through a message at the bottom next to the preflight check, a catalog file "No error" shows "Reading [Image name]" is constantly and every time I go to another page. This happens when the GPU is enabled and disabled. And for some reason, my drop shadow details are far away. I will turn off and reapply the shadow and it looks fine until I go to another page and come back to the page with shadows and incorrectly, they reappear once again.

  I'm on an end of 2015 iMac, retina 5K

  Processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5

  Memory: 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

  Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 M380 2048 MB

  Shadow of a problem

  

  The Performance parameter of default display in ID CC 2015.4 was changed to high quality (previously it was typical by default). This setting causes the images to be displayed to their full fidelity and that's what happens when you see the 'Image of reading' at the bottom of the document window. For images in your document, it happens the first time you open a document and you go to a page containing images. Later browsing the same page (s), this does not happen because images are cached and are quickly made to high quality.

  The coordinates of the drop shadow should not change because of this setting, so cannot say why what is happening. I would like to take a look. I sent you a DM.

• Export InDesign CC problem in epub images

  I have a problem with an epub in InDesign CC 2014. It has images placed in the text and some do not display correctly when the book is exported to epub.

  I have attached a picture to show what's happening. The image is repeated in part at the top and then cut down.

  This is not the case with all the pictures in the book.

  The book is set up with a document of a book containing separate coverage, introduction, content files and each chapter in InDesign.

  Each image was inserted in the text by me setting a return in the document formatted with a style of photo to the center of the image and put a few abova space and below the image and then placing the image of this paragraph mark. I have not formatted the images in any other way, and some had to be reduced to fit on the pages of the book. Most of the images that were brought down show very well, but we have this problem. Another SOM that is installed on the page that they were inserted into the images I have this problem of repetition.

  I have exported the recomposable epub and then I used the standard export ID CC for the epub parameters.

  It seems to me that created for the epub CSS is dealing with images as background images and repeating. I looked in the code for the epub and did not see where this is going well.

  I've done several ePub for the customer even files with the images inserted in the text as this, and other ePub files did not have this error with the images.

  Is someone can you please tell me why this is happening now?

  

  I found the solution to this myself.

  You must set the images in the epub to export in png. The problem goes away.

  I found this as a hint on a forum somewhere else after having done a lot of research. I can't find the link to the forum at the moment, but if I do I'll post it here as well.

  Problem solved and the customer is happy.

  I guess that this time there is no confussion in your mind...

  to cut the story short, it's a problem generated by authorization on Mac problems. It is resolved by defining the whole Adobe preferences folder and its contents to be read/write, not just read-only.
  In Mac OS: [Drive] /Users/ [username] / Library/Preferences/Adobe
  In Windows [drive] \Users\ [username] \AppData\Roaming\Adobe

  also after you change these files for read/write, you must copy the files you worked on once again.

• New to InDesign, with problems of objects vs just copy and paste.

  I'm working on my first page of brochure layout in InDesign.  I am having some problems when trying to place some simple vector Illustrator in my Indesign document.  When I do a place in the file, the image loses its sharpness, but if I select the image in Illustrator then copy to HAVE and paste into InDesign, it looks great.  I don't know enough for all this knowledge if this will have a negative effect on printing, or any other aspect of the finished product.  When you use the copy and paste method I don't seem to be able to change original that the work doesn't seem to be "associated" with a file I but rather just work in the InDesign document, if I understand correctly.  I'm doing something wrong?

  Best practice is to always use place. You don't have to worry about how the image looks in InDesign - this is just a glimpse of the screen. You can improve its look a bit using the view > display performance > high quality display. Even then, what you see on the screen is always a preview and will not look as good as what's to print.

  Remember that when you actually print, data from the original Illustrator, (not the preview) file will be used for output.

  The client needs access to the file manager which by default with Muse, is not activated, then, in order to allow to this the setting "allow change (incompatible with Muse) online content" in my details was allowed. We noticed that if changes have been made in British Colombia (download of PDF files and linking the theses of text boxes in the pages of Muse) and enabled compatibility has been left on when the site was reopened by us in Muse the feature "Merge the changes" started to "sort out the site. He would begin to highlight each area of text and elements on the page (which none had been published), one by one. In other words, if we just clicked on "Merge all changes" he would remove the entire site, one at a time.  Changes made by the customer in British Colombia were corrupting the file synchronization back to Muse Muse. We tell the client to ensure that the compatibility option is disabled after changes have been made and that seemed to fix things. Initially this stopped the "unraveled" and we were able to continue to merge the browser in publishes the file to Muse, until yesterday. Now, we cannot merge the new changes without this problem arising.

  Hey Grant,

  Sync suppose that changes have been made using in the only edition browser. Changes manually are not taken in charge.

  That said, the merger should not end up sorting out or remove the site. I suppose you're talking about, that it removes the content within individual blocks of text?

  You always have the option to ignore changes made by the text block. This works as long as the manual changes and changes in the browser are made of separate text blocks.

  In addition, the option "Enable editing of online content" affects any synchronization.

• Character in indesign window problem

  I installed Indesign CS6 to the macbook, but I met a problem in the CHARACTER window display. I tried to resize the size of the font of my text, but then, when I clicked on the OTHER option (TYPE-SIZE-OTHER) I woudn't see the CHARACTER window, so I can't change the size of my text that I wanted... Any solution of this problem aside from the use of short cut keys?

• CS6 InDesign printing problems

  Having looked at the forums and found Adobe support less helpful as I am jumps that the comunity will be able to help me on these frustrating issues.

  We are conducting a number of issues while trying to print from InDesign CS6 on our printer OKI C830

  Our facility:

  OS: 8 64-bit Windows

  InDesign CS6 version: 8.0.1

  Printer drivers: PS: 1.2.0.0 & PLC: 1.0.7.0/1.1.7

  Printer: Oki C830 256 MB RAM / V1.16

  Problems when printing from InDesign:

  • Printing multiple pages causes an error - undefined offending command stack error
    • After printing the first page with success, we get the above error.
    • I've implemented the fix described in the following link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2878922#2878922
      • Past the binary to ASCII - this helped as we could then print one or two pages if necessary.
  • Booklet printing - when you try to print a brochure, it seems that the broadcast is not understood by the printer
    • Try to print a booklet of 6 ID, pages are printed on a single sheet of A4/3 of the book at random.

  As a work around us are fourced to create the document ID CS6, and then expoort to ID CS4 for printing.

  Also as a side note, I tried printing of our old HP printers and they work fine. Also, this question was present on Windows 7 x 32 institutions.

  OK, this is either a problem in the file, or something about the print booklet setting. You can print the file without booklet print to the Adobe PDF printer?   I have a problem turn on InDesign in my creative cloud account. It lasts a few seconds and hangs down and I try to uninstall and install again. This seems useless, after that I have re-installed the problem persists. Can you guys help out.

• Button in Indesign CS6 problems

  Let me preface this by saying that I am almost totally unaware of DPS.

  I have problems with buttons in Indesign CS6. They refuse at a time:

  • stay hidden until the outbreak

  • hide the trigger

  For example, 1 button will change to hide the trigger and display button 2 on the trigger. 2 button is set to remain hidden until this that triggered, hides the trigger and show the button 1 on the trigger.

  Does not work well, 1 button remains in place. And button 2 is clearly not is not hidden so that triggered, either. What I am doing wrong?

  Buttons do not work in DPS same mode of action as PDF. More specifically, the action show/hide buttons is not supported. There are solutions to show/hide that involve combining buttons multi-state objects, even if the multi-state object is invisible.
