CS6 InDesign printing problems

Having looked at the forums and found Adobe support less helpful as I am jumps that the comunity will be able to help me on these frustrating issues.

We are conducting a number of issues while trying to print from InDesign CS6 on our printer OKI C830

Our facility:

OS: 8 64-bit Windows

InDesign CS6 version: 8.0.1

Printer drivers: PS: 1.2.0.0 & PLC: 1.0.7.0/1.1.7

Printer: Oki C830 256 MB RAM / V1.16

Problems when printing from InDesign:

  • Printing multiple pages causes an error - undefined offending command stack error
    • After printing the first page with success, we get the above error.
    • I've implemented the fix described in the following link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2878922#2878922
      • Past the binary to ASCII - this helped as we could then print one or two pages if necessary.

  • Booklet printing - when you try to print a brochure, it seems that the broadcast is not understood by the printer
    • Try to print a booklet of 6 ID, pages are printed on a single sheet of A4/3 of the book at random.

As a work around us are fourced to create the document ID CS6, and then expoort to ID CS4 for printing.

Also as a side note, I tried printing of our old HP printers and they work fine. Also, this question was present on Windows 7 x 32 institutions.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

See you soon,.

Matthew

OK, this is either a problem in the file, or something about the print booklet setting. You can print the file without booklet print to the Adobe PDF printer? If you can, we explore the booklet printing settings. If not, see Adobe Community: file crashing on exit - print/PDF/other for troubleshooting techniques.

Tells us that the problem is in the printer itself or the printer driver - because Photoshop and InDesign do not share any code to print (they don't use even the same APIs to print).

  • Print from InDesign prints fine, but print after that exporting to PDF prints black as gray, low Image quality

    Hi all

I have a printing problem going on with a document that I am currently trying to print.  When you export to PDF (high quality print or press quality setting, as well as to any possible color output) and then print, black my document go to the gray and the images look washed out.  This does not happen if I print directly from InDesign on my printer.  I tried to change the merger of transparent space, change the color profiles document and corresponding to export options to the options used when you print directly from ID, all without success. the document is always printed wrong when exporting to PDF first.  Any ideas why this might happen when exporting or printing to PDF, but not when you print directly from ID?  Thanks in advance for any help!

I see.  Is there a way to ID artificially add CMY export in the same way as it does when sending to print?

Is the destination of the document a composite digital printer or an offset press? If it is composite set your black preference for export fills and convert to RGB on export:

In Acrobat, the two blacks will be 0. 0 | 0 RGB and will display the same

  • ID CS5.5 Mac - transparency printing problems custom size 13 x 21

I try to print a screen printing positive transparency. The document is 13 x 21. I have a roll of 13 extended transparency which I cut a 21 "piece. I print on an EPSON 1400.

I can not get the output to this szie file. It cuts the image within 8.5 x 11 limit each time.

    I have:

-set a custom size in the print dialog box

-Click on Page Setup in the print dialog box and set the custom size here, ignoring the warning to the subject it is not not printing ID dialog box

-l' Preview in the dialog box will look perfectly oriented to the right size in the small tile

-J' have tried everything I can think of to try to get in sync and correct output formats

-I went to the PDF to try, fail again

Is there someone who can help with some step by step to a process that works?

Adobe ID CS5.5, EPSON Stylus Photo 1400, Mac Lion 10.7.5

Only, I can't understand how this could be so difficult and little intuitive. Any idea would be freaking wonderul.

Wow! Sudden incidental finding on this incredibly frustrating issue.

I had found information that the EPSON 1400 should be able to print 44 "long output by default. I was looking specifically for one to find people who had printed large and panoramic images and came across a photography website of the United Kingdom where a person mentioned that he had written a software that would allow this printer print beyond 44 ". That sounded a lot.

BUT, the last post on the thread of a guy says how he was able to print up to 44 '' for an EPSON 1400 with ease. The solution, said, was that the WIDTH of the print in the page layout area must be LOWER at 13 ". Why? No explanation.

So I reset my size custom at 12.5x21 inches and BAM! First attempt to InDesign printed successfully. I can work with the margin.

Anyway, in the case that everyone runs into this problem, it works. Here is a link to the post of 2009 that mentions this as info about printing more than 44 ".

    This one is solved.

  • Interactive buttons in PDF format are at the origin of printing problem

I'm working on a magazine PDF in InDesign CS5. I recently added interactive "arrows" for readers to navigate to the previous/next pages. The buttons work fine, but some of our subscribers are unable to print the PDF file (they get blank pages). A test, I re-recorded exact same InDesign document to PDF without buttons, and one of my subscribers was then able to print the document as usual. My PDF files always include hyperlinks, indeed, who have never been a problem.

Because only some people experience printing problems, I thought it's maybe because they are with older versions of Adobe Reader; However, a person experiencing it uses Reader Version 9. The problem could be related to older printers? Something else? I decided to remove the buttons, but I'm still curious about why this is happening.

Set the buttons to display but not print.

  • Compatibility with PDF printer problem?

I have a PDF document someone created with InDesign CS3 5.0.4.  It opens in Reader 9.1.3 and prints perfectly on some newer printers.  However on older printers at the bottom of the paper is cut in preview before printing and the actual print on paper.  Both printers are HP and I spent a few hours chatting with the Technical Support of HP tent of new drivers, etc.  Their conclusion was that it is caused by an older insoluble problem between the printer and the PDF.  They have, of course, said I would need to buy new printers even if they are not that old and works fine for everything else.

So far the matter has developed in the other three offices. There must be one better solution other than to throw money at it.

I have never used InDesign and wonder if there might be some settings used when creating PDF in InDesign or Acrobat that can solve the problem.  The form must be printed exactly as planned, so shrink to fit is not an option.

    Thank you.

Sound isn't like an ID number at all. Sounds like what she is... a printer problem.

  • Printing problems 11 of 17

The publication is created to aid in the design on paper 11 by 17.  When she tries to print it shows up in the upper left corner to 8 1/2 by 11 don't format not fill the entire page 11 by 17.  We checked that we have changed the paper size in the design parameters and the pilot.  It printed right at some point, but now it is not print correctly.   We tried every setting I can think of including the installation of the driver locally so that she can change the settings of the printer and not necessary to use the settings of the server without change.  If it exports the document to PDF, it will print correctly.  She does not have to convert the document, while it makes changes to this.  Adobe recommends connect you under a different name, which I did and he printed connected as me in the same way.
PC is Vista Business 32-bit sp1, the software is Adobe CS2, printer is a Kyocera KM-C4035E KX with the PC L 4.2.1514a driver installed locally on your PC.

Have you tried to remove and reinstall the printer?

I found this thread where people have a similar problem. http://objectmix.com/Adobe-InDesign/225007-InDesign-prints-wrong-size-paper-2.html

    Something can help.

  • Where can I find better, more correct instructions to solve printing problems by editing prefs.js?

Instructions of "resolve printing problems | Firefox Help, line 6. Delete all the lines in prefs.js that begin with print_ and save the file. "do not match what is actually in my prefs.js file.

In other words, he didn't y not the lines * beginning * with "print" or "print_". However, the string of five characters 'print' is * very * many times buried deep in a line of characters, but never at the beginning of a line and rarely followed by underscore. So I have no idea what I'm actually planned to do to solve my problem.

It seems to me that this is just a badly phrased statement that might be more appropriate for someone who is familiar with the codification and development of software, which I'm not. I don't have the time, experience or knowledge to understand. I need more literal/explicit/specific instructions.

The printing problem I have is that I have to print via WiFi to a printer in another room wired to another computer, and Firefox seems to switch or possibly reverse scales fonts for information of margin and the text of the Web page. In other words, the title of the document, date, time, prints etc very wide and the content of the page text prints almost too small to read.

If there is a lot of user set prefs involved that need to be reset, then it's much easier to delete related lines of the prefs.js is each of them with the button straight on the topic: config page and click Reset.
This is the main reason (single) to edit the prefs.js file.

  • From updateing to 8.1 WIndows printer problems

Until I updated to Windows 8.1 other months everything was going well on my new laptop, then I went to something of my HP Photosmart B109n scan and it did not work because the pilot was now missing and the application that replace the HP printer driver HP is useless.

On the advice of the HP site, I tried to download the new driver, but it wouldn't go, he said I had to remove the exsisting installation but when I try it just reboots the computer, but is still there afterwards. It turns out the uninstall has disappeared from the current and installation does not appear in the installer I downloaded.

As a last resort, I used the system restore but has not only the printer has not changed but now some pre-loaded apps will not work and ask to renew the license of developers.

I'm a lost what to do next - please help!

Your laptop is not known to me, but in the case of update 8.1 Win, you should check this update from Toshiba to win 8.1 page: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/gen...ws8_1-message/

There you can check if the Win 8.1 is supported on your laptop and how to perform the Update step by step for Windows 8.1
Some drivers must be uninstalled and updated after installation of update 8.1 to win!

    Regarding your printer problem:
Each manufacturer of the printer contains own drivers for the Windows System.
We don't know me if HP released Win 8.1 compatible drivers for the printer Photosmart B109n clean, but to be honest, this problem is not related to the Toshiba laptop. If you have problems using HP printer under 8.1 to win, you should visit the support page of the printer manufacturer for troubleshooting tips and workaround solutions.

All in the words fine printing copies only the upper left photo f. When I show preview before printing, it shows that if the whole of the document will print correctly and the image should print very well... I have attached what print preview looks like and what actually prints

    Hi @dmanyeah,

Thank you for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you encounter printing problems in Word, the full image is not printing. Thanks for providing the screenshots. I'd love to help you.

Try to print a picture from another application to see if you have the same problem.

To exclude the driver, install a generic driver to see if you have the same results.

    • On the computer, go to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties.
    • Click the Advanced tab and click new driver, and then click Next.
    • HP Deskjet 9800 by selecting in the list or the Deskjet 990c printer, click Next, Finish, and apply the settings. (you can always go back and revert to the original printer driver)

What version of Word are you using?

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you meet your HP Deskjet printing problems in advantage 4510 series e-all-in-one printer to your computer Windows 8.1. You have included a large number of useful information in your post, so thank you. After reviewing the troubleshooting you have already finished, I came to the conclusion that what you feel is a conflict of driver on your computer Windows 8.1. To fix this please follow the steps below.

    How to add another driver:

    1. Open the Start screen (by selecting the windows start button in the lower left corner or by selecting the "Windows" button at the bottom left of your keyboard to the left of the 'Ctrl' key
    2. In the start screen, type "Devices and printers"
    3. If the option devices and printers automatically fills, click settings at the top right and then click on devices and printers.
    4. In the devices and printers folder right click on your series Deskjet 4510 and left click on printer properties
    5. Left click on the Advanced tab
    6. Left-click on new driver
    7. When the new window driver opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of printers on the right.
    8. Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
    9. DeskJet 9800 select the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 is only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update has been completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
    10. After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next complete the new driver Wizard
    11. Under the printer properties window, select 'Apply' but do not hit OK
    12. Select the general tab
    13. Rename your printer in HP Deskjet 4510
    14. Click OK
    15. Finally, right-click on your Deskjet 4510 series once more and click on Printing Preferences
    16. Left click on the paper/quality tab
    17. Left click on the dropdown 'Normal' for the print quality down to the right and change its normal fast
    18. Press apply and OK
    19. Try to print!
