• InDesign CS5 - problem with open Type fonts

  I started using Indesign CS3 after the offer to convert my PageMaker 7 and was very happy to use it so amazing at first, but now became very uncomfortable with Indesign. Then I upgraded to CS4 and everything was a breeze because it perfomed better than CS3. There is no snagging.

  A week ago I put once again today in CS5. Almost all my desktop files are now in indesign format after the conversion. However, I opened my recent file I started on CS4 - I found that policies cannot cannot match. My Arial and Arial Narrow (True Type) now can not be read by CS5.

  Have you looked at the menu drop-down style to arial?

  BTW, there are two versions of OpenType and Arial is the FTT. But it is an OpenType font.

  I have a problem with a font appear as missing in a single document, but in another document. I tried to erase all the paragraph styles and character styles, but nothing works. Police appears in the list of fonts and the recently used fonts, but when I choose what it the text is highlighted in pink as the name of the font is displayed in brackets as if he is absent.

  I tried to remove the cached Adobefnt file, but that does not work either.

  I hope there is a simple solution that I am ignorant to know. I'm going out of my mind and would like any input on this problem of mine.

  Facts:

  InDesign CS5, v7.0.4

  OS X 10.7.4

  Without execution of application-font-management of third parties.

  MacBook Pro (June 2012)

  InDesign crashes in these two cases:

  1 try to remove a page whose content is. Just as the warning box appears, it is without content (just the title of 'Warning') and accidents.

  2. what package a file, as it is to warn you about the dangers of archiving policies, it does the same thing as above and crashes.

  Tried alt-opt-cmd-shift thing to restart preferences and nothing.

  I tried deleting the files of two preference directly so that they would rebuild and nothing.

  Interestingly, I have another computer running OS 10.7. 3 (as opposed to 10.7.4 the crashy) and the same InDesign CS5 7.0.4 and it works perfectly.

  Ideas? Conduit?

  Our engineers have provided a workaround solution which, although potentially complex for some, should allow the full functionality.

  Essentially, we ask the people affected by this problem to put three icon files in the InDesign application file itself to skip the check for the missing API.

  I tried several times to install Production Premium CS5 - Photoshop only (x 64 + standard) - on a new workstation Win10 Pro and keeps it fails with the message error "there was a problem with your installation. Adobe support insisted I download the latest version, as I did, but it made no difference. So they cannot give aid because CS5 is not the latest version of the product.

  I'm having a very difficult problem.

  I am attaching a script in a handler for a menu item, by using an installation script menu that I wrote based on one by Marc Autret. My version of the script menu installation attach a bunch of event handlers at the same time, to the actions of different menu.

  What is the event handler, with that I have a problem is to prompt the user for a URL and then applies the URL as a hyperlink to the text selection, with our house style for the way in which the URL should look like.

  The problem is the following:

  1. all other installed menu actions work very well, except for this one.

  2. the addition of URL script works fine, when you run it directly from the script menu.

  3. the combination of #1 and #2 (using the script to add URL by function as an event handler in the Edit menu) blocks to InDesign. But it is only after the addition of URL script has finished and done what it was supposed to do!

  4. when I comment on the section of the script URL adding user input, so that instead of saying

  userInput = myDisplayDialog();
  

  It is said

  userInput = "http://thisworks.com";   // userInput = myDisplayDialog();
  

  It works well as an event handler.

  So obviously a problem with the dialog box, but only when adding URL script is executed as an event handler. My first guess is that this is some kind of memory leak, but I think I am following the model of. destroy() the way I saw it elsewhere.

  Someone knows something like that before?

• I have a problem with a missing on the computer user account.

  Original title: problem getting back to the original account admin user

  Since the computer was new, I didn't have that one user account and didn't need a user to logon screen, when it opened to that and the only active user account. Fast forward 6 months that I had a problem with a windows installation file deleted and in order to get a program running I had to add a user account for the new installation of the user files. That part worked, but when I disconnected and tried to return to my original owner account there was only the new account on the logon screen my original account wasn't there. My files for this user account are still there in C: User but I can't find a way to get there.

  Googleing this problem I saw things about problems with the accounts being listed as AccueilCompte, or administrator, but it did get me anywhere, the only difference I've seen after going through all that I saw in Win7 Home Premium, which had to do with user accounts, it is that my original account was registered in a field as 'owner '. I don't know if it's part of the problem or not. How can I return to my original account and why isn't she appear on the opening screen of session or user accounts?

• Problem with a missing or corupt file

  The computer is a Dell Dimension 3000 with Windows XP Home Edition and Norton 360. The action that preceded the error message has been trying to install NetGear N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter e. The installation of the adapter has been successful, the next day when I restarted the computer the Dell logo came briefly but cannot start in. After that, the screen went black with the error message. Now when I try once again, the same thing will happen. I tried to rerun the Windows CD but the computer doesn't read it.
  I also tried to use the comand #5 under the Boot Device Manu but it stops when it scaly the starting point.
  I can't the flashing cursor so that I can't scandisk or any other comand.

The real problem is most likely that XP just can not find the file because of a file system corruption or a file c:\boot.ini afflicted. If the chkdsk /r is clean and you have the same problem, and then re-create your c:\boot.ini file but rename the old one first so you don't build on top of those afflicted - this tidbit is absent from MS KB article that assumes too. You can do all this in the XP Recovery Console, but do go through these methods in this article and see how you go. For example, method 1 will not work if your system does not start.  You may have more luck with other "methods". If that doesn't work, then I suggest to provide a little more information about your system: Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.   I had a problem which I hope someone can help me with.

  When I combine several documents (9 total, .doc and .pdf files), some words have letters missing - leaving large voids in the words. It seems that, it seems to happen to positions with the font style "Arial (topics)."

  After some research, I realized that others have seen a similar problem and it could be solved in the Adobe PDF printer properties (properties > Preferences > defaults :).) However, after testing a few different settings, nothing seems to be fixing the issue and I will always have the same missing letters in the final document to convert.

  I use Adobe Pro XI - I was wondering if there is a update/fixes for this? I'm on version 11.0.07. For some reason, I am unable to update so I can't verify this.

  This occurs due to the creation of subsets of fonts. Not all letters are available because they may be in subsets of different fonts. Delete the fonts embedded in the pdf file, then re - incorporate fonts.

  Apart from the mentioned measures check the dates of warranty on the cartridges as shown here.  If they are years of the warranty period, is it possible the cartridges have failed, even though they were new in the box.  Also gently pat dry the printhead on a damp cloth to ensure that there are stripes of color cyan, magenta and yellow.  If there is not a task of strong color on the fabric the cartridges are probably the cause.

  The only black test page confirms that the issue is in the printer or cartridges, not with the computer or the drivers.

  I have this problem. When the fuser unit, I get the 'generic' icons in the doc - rather than those who represent the apps.

  The strange thing is that the IE icon seems ok, the icon of Firefox and the vSphere Client are generic...

  I'm assuming that there could be a sort of "cache of icon" who needs compensation.

• CS5 problems with the alignment of the object key?

  I use guides like objects for alignment keys without problem in CS4 for Mac, but just objects in CS5 fly somewhere not visible anywhere in the file. I checked prefs but sees nothing that would create this behavior, and alignment on the pixel grid doesn't seem to matter. Still works fine in CS4. I could draw a line to line up to as a work-around, but it would be tedious. Aligning to the selection and the artboard work properly. Anyone else noticed this or know what could be the cause of this? Thanks in advance for your help.

  Have you had this problem from the beginning, or it appears suddenly? I saw this problem in CS3, set by trashing the settings folder.
