The client requested a Table of contents (TOC) which can be consulted; However, our tests indicate that, even if you create a table of contents in the Multi-SCO mode, you are unable to search across multiple SCO files. • Maintenance of the fill colors in styles of character through several documents HAVE

  I'll be very difficult to understand how Adobe Illustrator (CS6) manages styles of characters imported from different AI documents. If I create all styles of characters in a document unique .ai and only use that to in this document, everything works as expected - settings for colors, fonts and typography are maintained in the character style and newly added texts can be quickly style with the character style.

  My trouble starts when I want to re - use character styles in a new document .ai. In the menu style of character, I use the option import the styles of characters from another document, and that they import properly - all styles of work and text style as expected. But then i save & close the document and open it again it notes that character style entries are there, but the fills and strokes are all screwed up - fonts, sizes, typography settings are retained, but with a blue fill styles are suddenly filed with black, or another color.

  So, why is that happening? This occurs even if the nuances associated with character styles are imported to the new document as well. I read that all character styles are based on the 'normal' character style But, I tried a test ensuring that the style of 'normal' character was consistent between the two documents and I've known the issue.

  Kurt - the steps you sketched out in fact held the imported styles intact through several save/re-opening of the document! Thank you. However, other styles of character initially imported but not used at once had the same problem to return the black fill and stoke color.

  So, I guess that the workaround is:

  -import swatches

  -import of character styles

  -make a text for each import object style of character and style it with every style of imported characters that you want to keep intact.

  -copy / paste each text object

  -Save the document.

  Good find on workaround Kurt - I use it without a doubt. I have just a small range of character outside of my plan of work style. What a pain though...

• Play a SWF through several slides

  Is there a possible way to play a SWF through several slides, or all slides? For example, I want to give the opportunity to turn the music on and off tension throughout the presentation, that I can't do with just of Captivate.

  I think all you have to do is click on insert > Animation... then click on the tab Options in the new Animation dialog box. From there, in the calendar box, click the menu drop down and select "rest of project".

• Styles of synchronization through several models

  I have an interesting problem, and my idea of 'smart' for a solution does not go as well as I hoped it would do to an apparent technical limitation in InDesign.

  I have a bunch of InDesign templates. They share all styles (Pgph and tank for most) and attributes. There are about 30 models altogether for various reasons, and they share probably 25 identical styles.

  Users open a file .indt and drop in content, style it and continue on their day.

  Well, we need to update some of these definitions of Style, and it doesn't seem to be something that is particularly easy to do. The only way I knew to do is open a template file, make changes to each style, that I need to update and then save it to the .indt with a new.

  It occurred to me that maybe we could put all .indt files in an InDesign book and use the style Sync feature to update all the, but .indt files are not valid entries in a file .indb. It's disappointing.

  Is there a better way to do it? Now I'm looking at a full day to update Manual of dozens of Styles through a bunch of model files and then faced with the prospect that I might have accidentally missed a step or two on some of them and end up with mismatched styles.

  Ideal for me would be a kind of file .inds that comes in is held the definition of styles as does a .css for the web file.

  I could just use files .indd for models instead of .indt files, but we end up with users (myself included) who register on models by mistake.

  I'm sure there are 3rd party tools that make this possible, but I doubt I'd get buy-in on those, and it would really make sense when we could only update these models all 6 to 24 months? Maybe there's some magic script, that I don't know who can do this?

  Change that file temporarily to .indd extensions, add to the book, synch, then change back the .indt.

  Any expansion is essentially say ID how to manage the default value at the opening of procedure. It has no effect on the content of the file.

• What is the best practice to block through several layers sizes: hardware and hypervisor VM OS?

  The example below is not a real Setup, I work with, but should get the message. Here's my example of what I'm doing as a reference layer:

  (LAYER1) Hardware: The hardware RAID controller

  (Layer2) Hypervisor: Data store ESXi

  • -1 TB of Raid Controller formatted with VMFS5 @ block size of 1 MB.

  
  

  Layer (3) the VM OS: Server 2008 R2 w/SQL

  • -100 GB virtual HD using NTFS @ 4 K for the OS block size.
  • -900 GB virtual HD set up using NTFS @ 64 K block size to store the SQL database.

  It seems that vmfs5 is limited to only having a block size of 1 MB. It would be preferable that all or part of the size of the blocks matched on different layers and why or why not? What are the different block sizes on other layers and performance? Could you suggest better alternative or best practices for the sample configuration above?

  If a San participated instead of a hardware on the host computer RAID controller, it would be better to store the vmdk of OS on the VMFS5 data store and create an iSCSI separated THAT LUN formatted to a block size of 64 K, then fix it with the initiator iSCSI in the operating system and which size to 64 K. The corresponding block sizes through layers increase performance or is it advisable? Any help answer and/or explaining best practices is greatly appreciated.

  I have 1 TB of space (around) and create two Virutal Drives.

  Virtual Drive 1-10GB - to use for OS Hyper-visiere files

  Virtual Drive 2 - 990 GB - used for the storage of data/VM VMFS store

  The element size of default allocation on the Perc6 / i is 64 KB, but can be 8,16,32,64,128,256,512 or 1024 KB.

  What size block would you use table 1, which is where the real hyper-visiere will be installed?

  -> If you have two tables I would set the size of the block on the table of the hypervisor to 8 KB

  What block size that you use in table 2, which will be used as the VM data store in ESXi?

  ->, I'd go with 1024KO on VMFS 5 size

  -Do you want 1024KO to match the VMFS size which will be finally formatted on top he block?

  * Consider that this database would eventually contain several virtual hard drives for each OS, database SQL, SQL logs formatted to NTFS to the recommended block, 4K, 8K, 64K size.

  -> The problem here is THAT VMFS will go with 1 MB, no matter what you're doing so sculpture located lower in the RAID will cause no problems but does not help either.  You have 4 k sectors on the disk.  RAID 1 MB, 1 MB invited VMFS, 4 k, 8K, 64 K.   Really, 64K gains are lost a little when the back-end storage is 1 MB.

  If the RAID stripe element size is set to 1 024 Ko so that it matches the VMFS 1 MB size of block, which would be better practice or is it indifferent?

  -> So that's 1024KB, or 4 KB chucks it doesn't really matter.

  What effect this has on the OS/Virtual HD and their sizes respective block installed on top of the tape and the size of block VMFS element?

  -> The effect is minimal on the performance but that exists.   It would be a lie to say that he didn't.

  I could be completely on the overall situation of the thought, but for me it seems that this must be some kind of correlation between the three different "layers" as I call it and a best practice in service.

  Hope that helps.  I'll tell you I ran block size SQL and Exchange time virtualized without any problem and without changing the operating system.  I just stuck with the standard size of microsoft.  I'd be much more concerned by the performance of the raid on your server controller.  They continue to do these things cheaper and cheaper with cache less and less.  If performance is the primary concern then I would consider a matrix or a RAID5/6 solution, or at least look at the amount of cache on your raid controller (reading is normally essential to the database)

  the store you use contains only the changed values. This is the reason why your replace lance the error message.

  That's why you normally use something like the following to avoid the error:

  I have a simple question, but so far I have not been able to grasp the exact application. So I have a DataModel.cpp object that loads data from a JSON data file.

  Because you talked about "buttons" I assumed that you were pointing to the InBuilt States: Normal, rollover and down. The situation with styles is a little confusing IMO concerning States. You cannot set the States in Manager of Style of the object, as was the case of the Captivate 8 buttons. Since 9 Captivate, you will need to define States in the Panel object, for custom reports also state in regard to integrated States. Part of the InBuilt says are really integrated in the style: this is the case for all of the State for the Image buttons, for the background/outline for other types and form buttons. The labels on the buttons (text, system and form) are not part of the style. The exception are the image buttons because you have to put the text in the images. If you add objects in integrated States, they wil not be part of the style.  Even for States custom: they are not part of the style. I have problems with this configuration of confusing. It would be much easier, I think, if everything was recorded in an object style could be edited and changed in the Object styles Manager.
