synchronize photos on unidirectional icloud

Hello

Is it possible to have iPads and iPhones to sync photos how our MacBook?

I would like to have pictures taken on the iPad and the iPhone synced to my computer, but not all of them recorded in pictures synced to the iPad and iPhone.

Thank you;

iCloud is not designed for this. It syncs both ways to all devices using the same Apple ID.

You would have to "move" clear photos of your devices to your Macbook to keep the devices.

Often, for 'request' or 'force' photo synchronization to start, we'll each device in turn, go to settings, select the appleid and the account and re - enter the password. It's as if he has somehow (for purposes of Photos) was disconnected.

However, it should be noted, all the other iCloud synchronization took place without a hitch (for example, Safari, Contacts, Notes, calendar, app folders, etc.). It's just photos synchronization, in the presence of Wi - fi, which sometimes is, shall we say, "hesitant." Very annoying.

The devices involved are two iPads, two iPhones, and two MacBook Pro. All sharing an appleid to iCloud sharing purposes. We pay a premium for the extra space iCloud, we store a potload of photos. All the appropriate settings have been made on all the devices (including the photo allowing stream). I've been through, several times, the painful process of disabling iCloud synchronize Photos, restart devices and turning iCloud synchronize Photos on. I say painful because he was wearing the re-synchronization of these potloads of photos on each of the six devices danged. Next for each. Grrr...

If you have iCloud that active library, the photo stream is redundant and is not used.

  • My iPhone and Mac all have two Photos related to iCloud, same images appear on both. How to remove pictures from the phone without removing them from the Mac

I've shared pictures between my Mac and iPhone using iCloud. Recently downloaded about 1800 brother SmugMug account family photos. Subsequently discovered that they had all been loaded on my phone as well. When I try to delete them from my phone, I get a message the suggests that if I do, the photos will be removed from my Mac was fine. How can I remove the phone and let the Mac intact?

I've shared pictures between my Mac and iPhone using iCloud.

    What iCloudService do you use?

    • If the iPhone and the Mac are synchronized with iCloud photo library, removal of the photos from the iPhone will remove them from the Mac as well.  iCloud photo library is a synchronization service that will ensure that you see the same pictures on all devices. All change at will the timing and any deletion or any import.  To win the storage on the iPhone allow the iCloud Photos setting "Optimize Storage.
    • If photos have been synced with my photos and not iCloud library stream, you can remove them from the iPhone. They must stay in the library on your Mac. But before a massive deletion on any device, make a backup of your photo library, just to be sure.
  • How can I select all the photos to download icloud on a Mac?

I do the thing IT Manager family.

My daughter moved into a House with the lousy broadband (0.5Mbit / s!).  She had already signed for storage iCloud and used pictures of iCloud for several years with his iPhone & iPad.  She has now a large number of photos & videos (ex iPhone & iPad) in iCloud, but also a large number of old photos in her photo album on his MBP (which she didn't register to iCloud Photos with).  I would get all of his photos on iCloud and in Photos in his MBP, and she can stop trying to use the thing iCloud until she gets a better broadband connection (and just sync with USB, in the traditional way!).

I use iCloud Photos myself and find it very confusing - iCloud Photos, photo, pictures of iCloud sharing stream...

However, I don't see an easy way of simply by downloading everything.  If I access iCloud Photos via Safari, I can download photos, but there seems to be no option "Select all", then by selecting several hundred photos will be tedious say the least.

If I sign his MBP Photos up to iCloud, it goes, I guess, download all her photos to iCloud, ok, BUT, it will automatically download all her old photos on iCloud and probably exceed its storage limit, but also take a long time (45 GB - if I have fiber at home, so perhaps tolerable).

I did a little research and can find no easy answers.  One possibility is to create an empty photo library on the MBP, sign up to iCloud, wait for synchronization, the export of all photos in a folder, re-import the old library of Photos and then delete again.  Seems possible, but tedious.

    All the best ideas?

FWIIW, my daughter MBP is a mid-2009 13 ", just updated (by the family IT Manager!) to el Capitan. a little slow and only 250 and only 70 GB available.

Go to a place where the internet is faster. Turn on iCloud photos on Mac.

This will put all the photos in the cloud and on Mac.

Once done, turn off iCloud photo library.

  • Photos not downloading icloud

    I use a Mac with OS X 10.11.4 load.  I also have Photos v 1.5

In the Photos, I have iCloud library enabled, and 'Download this Mac originals '.  I also have an iPhone 6 and iPad 2 Air, both iOS 9.3 operating and with iCloud library lit.

My question is this: when I first set up library, all synchronized on all three devices without any problem.  However I find now that photos taken on the iPhone to the iCloud library download (at least the phone says it has ' updated earlier ") but they don't not download to the Mac.  Instead the pictures on the Mac says just "Download x items" and it stays like that.

If I delete the pictures from the phone and then the Mac will return to normal.  The only other alternative I've met is to disable the photo library and restart, or completely disconnect from iCloud and then sign back in again.  But both require a new synchronization.

    Someone at - it ideas?

PS I've seen similar posts from other users of the forum, but not a response yet.  Hours/days for pictures to download when I have a connection should really be high-speed fiber?

  • If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

Yes, they do. See:iCloud photo library - Apple Support

Note that if you open the Photos on your Mac and go to preferences and click on iCloud at the top of the preferences window, there are 2 options: 'Download the originals of this Mac' and 'Optimize Mac storage.' If you choose the option optimize and your Mac is low on storage space, then the originals can be replaced with smaller optimized versions.

  • Download Photos library to iCloud

After converting my iPhoto photo library, the size of the photo library in the finder is 135 GB and the amount of pictures is a testament to the library is 26 673 when the "All Photos" album is selected. The quantities are close to those originally iPhoto library.

I then started to load the new photo library on iCloud where, during the download process, the dialog box indicates that it is 'uploading 9306 points (xx.xx GB GB 104,46),"where xx.xx is the current amount downloaded so far.

The difference in quantity and size of the photo is disturbing. Y at - it a reasonabe explanation?

From what I saw other people post, the number changes often. See types of files that you can use in the linked article. Which may explain part of the difference.

  • Why can I not see my photos on the icloud for my Ipad?

When I was upgrading my ipad to the updated software it hung.  I've been back up my photos to the icloud for more than a year, but they do not appear here my ipad or all of my devices families shared?  Why is this?

I have the setting all put there to store and backup is more than 5 GB.  My ipad is now frozen in the State that he wants to find a factory setting and I'm scared, I've now lost over 4000 photos.  Help!

You should check iCloud.com, Photos. If you, the pictures are stored here they are uploaded to the iCloud (and will be downloaded to a device if you connect).

If you don't see all of the Photos, they are not in iCloud. You can check if you have a backup (on iCloud or iTunes) but if you do not have to guess they're gone.

Regular backups to iCloud do not include photos if iCloud library is set on "on".

    Hello

Photos and videos that are shared with remain you by others via iCloud, photo sharing in iCloud, unless you chose to save it to your device. For more information on works iCloud, sharing photos, see this support article:

With respect to the content that is stored on your iPhone, the following support article explains the difference between the storage (on your iPhone) device and iCloud and the relationship between them (you wouldn't move photos or videos off one and on the other to free a space):

Finally, this article explains how iCloud photo library can be used in conjunction with your iPhone, including how optimize storage allows you to keep more small, size of the photos and videos on your iPhone so that all your original, full resolution are stored in iCloud:

  • No Photos in the iCloud icon

It is my understanding that all it take with either my iPad iphone are stored in icloud.  Yet, when I opened the icloud icon on my home screen indicate none.  Only two icons appear.  They are numbers and Pages.  Photos shouldn't be listed?  They appear if I open the Photos icon on the home screen.

I'm confused.  Are the photos on icloud or they are on my device?

    Thank you.

Log on to iCloud.com from a browser on a computer and see if they are there. Otherwise, they are not uploaded to iCloud and there are many causes for this. If you have Photos on under iCloud, they would be part of a backup to iCloud but not visible on iCloud. If you have iCloud library turned, they should appear on iCloud but this comes with the other consequences, see here:
