Sysprep and SIDS

I create templates for Windows 2008 R2 the final step of each creation is a /oobe/shutdown sysprep.

Once the template is cloned and booted up, we do an other sysprep /oobe /reboot. The second sysprep is supposed to be in order to change the SID... Question: Is the only changed SID by using the / generalize? If I use the / option on the model to generalize and then clone, can I get a different SID every time?

The big question is: is sysprep / generalize the only way to reset the sid?

I also noticed that the option on the causes of non bootable for appear offline and IPV6 devices model gets active reset / generalize. Is there a way around this?

    I dropped my phone in a small bowl of water, but only the top wet! (Camera and side buttons) but I caught as fast as I could and I put it in rice! The camera picture and everything work fine, but these last two days the phone has acted a bit! As it is a bit slow (which im hoping is just my access provider) and this morning I plugged my headphones, but they were not involved. It's as if they are not yet connected. Until I restarted my phone! All this may be water damage! Once again; the camera works very well and the buttons are too! I can take it to the Apple Store to watching it!

    Is one of the newest phones.   He should not have these problems.   Water works in many ways where electrics are concerned, and few of them are to our advantage.   Bring it to your local Apple store and ask for an assessment.

    Guarantees exclude the water damage.

  • Sysprep and Windows Update

    I need some Windows 7 machines to the test.  I have licensed ten machines.  How to keep the machine base up-to-date on Windows Update?

    I would like to create a basic machine that Windows 7 is installed.  I like to keep up-to-date via Windows update.  When I need to do some tests I clone the virtual machine base and create environments as much as necessary (up to ten machines license).

    How to keep the base up to date machine?

    Should I create a virtual machine with Windows 7 installed and update and when I need clones for test run sysprep and use syspreped image to create clones?

    Is there an easier way to do this?

    Unfortunately, it's the broken link is important:

    Take a look at the 'Windows XP Mode IT Pro video deployment', they also explain how sysprep a VHD.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=f0ef9c63-2d2d-4f18-be39-57f8e794fe07

    None of the other remedy.

    I came to the conclusion that the best thing for me is to maintain a base for each OS machine I could need.  When I need a new test machine, I'll just copy the basis, start, and change the license key and the machine name.

  • The difference between the service name and sid

    Hi all

    1. I am not able to understand the difference between Service_name and SID.
    2 and I have 3 different databases (such as 9i, 10 g, 11 g) with 3 cases in each (6 total), I can configure a listener for all databases and all cases, as I have found in some documents that we need to define the list of SIDS in listener.ora file.

    Please help me in this regard

    Thanks in advance

    Menas SID number so, for each instance there is a unique SID in the server. Service_name is nothing more that an alias name for the name of the database in a system not CARS. But in a RAC system, there are some other additional features.

    Yes, you can create a single listener to a 9i, 10g and 11g database, but make sure that when you start the listener you should start it superior version, here, in your case, you should start the listener binaries of 11g.

  • n ° of series and SID

    Hello!!!

    I am a student of WDP funa-1 9i DBA. I need help:

    (If I'm not mistaken) v$ session is seen dynamic that store information about oracle.but my question is why no_serie and SID is needed to kill the session? Why not only SID to kill the session?

    Another thing is that a user can use several session(as_oracle_does_not_restrict_to_do_so).we observed there is a unique - ment for Serial # so why do we need to mention the SID to kill the session?
    And my last question is, how the SID and the serial no is generated?

    Hello

    my example comes from a RAC system where there are two instances of 'collaborators' on the same database, so that you can easily see two sessions with the same sid in sid

    ' is reassigned permanently, and so if a session ends, next session connection could have the same sid assigned, while the serial no is a sort of counter ", which is

    incremented each time that a sid reused by anotehr session id"(from Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning Guide and reference), it's like a 'measure' of how

    Once a sid is reused. In addition v$ session.audsid, too, can be used to identify a session

    SQL> select sid, serial# from v$session where program like '%Pl%';

           SID    SERIAL#
    ---------- ----------
           139      37758
           142      41671

    SQL> select sid, serial# from v$session where program like '%Pl%';

    select sid, serial# from v$session where program like '%Pl%'

    Not logged on <---------- Here I Logged off

    SQL> select sid, serial# from v$session where program like '%Pl%';

           SID    SERIAL#
    ---------- ----------
           139      37768
           142 41683 <----------- System regave me same sid, but SERIAL# incremented

    I can only imagine that the couple sid, serial # gives you more 'precision' to get the good session, and of course it is not in absolute terms, the only method for

    identify a session, but it is the implemented method oracle developers. They're just assuring us that we kill not bad sessions!

    Each time Firefox opened

    Hello Dave.

    Please show us a screenshot of the problem.

    In any case, I'll venture a guess that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, make sure that it's not one of your modules installed, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode , and then select disable all add-ons. If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins in the same way.

    If you want supported for one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

    just updated to 13.6.0.165.

    It seems that it is not longer possible to zoom in on or the side of the camera by using the mouse wheel views. That was really very convenient and more fast as always click on the drop down menu to each view and choose 100%, 200% and so on.

  • Sysprep and victory 2012

    Hello

    I prepare templates to implement catalog for our customers. The tepmlate includes the command slmgr.vbs xx.xx.xx.xx /skms to point to our KMS server.

    Given that most of them asking how to activate windows, and they generally want to activate Win as soon as possible, I decided to create a very simple package, say, activate_windows.bat, with inside a simple "slmgr.vbs /ato.

    The problem I am encoutering now is that after the model deployment (sysprep), this file that I put on the desktop (the easiest place for customers to find) disappears.

    I know, this is the normal behavior but... How could I tell to remove the bat file?

    Name two different databases, the same is a very stupid thing to do. I correct that if I could. However, assuming that 'rmandb' and 'test8' are the names of two different servers, your tnsnames would look like this

    prod_rmandb =
           (DESCRIPTION =
             (ADDRESS_LIST =
               (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rmandb)(PORT = 1521))
                 )
             (CONNECT_DATA =
               (SERVICE_NAME = prod)
             )
           )

    prod_tes8 =
           (DESCRIPTION =
             (ADDRESS_LIST =
               (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = test8)(PORT = 1521))
                 )
             (CONNECT_DATA =
               (SERVICE_NAME = prod)
             )
           )

    And your connection string would be

    rman target sys/sys@prod_test8 rcvcat rman/rman@prod_rmandb

  • deploy multiple virtual machines using vmdk and SID file

    Hello

    Need to know if I am correct or miss me something... I deploy many virtual machines using method.

    1. remove the vmdk files a XP.

    2. create new folders and copy the vmdk into this folder.

    3. create virtual machines using existing vmdk files.

    4 rename the computer and join it to the domain.

    My question is, my VMDK files are an existing xp VM (no longer exist), what is the status of the deployed virtual machines? they still have the same SID or it is changed? I managed to join to the domain, but do not want surprises in the future.

    Note:

    I had another option, could have all these automated with new SID using PowerCLi, unfortunately, osCustomization has default, I can't event run the get-OsCustomization command, it keeps failing.

    Thank you.

    Yes, Windows writes the SID on disk (virtual disk for virtual machines) or physical disk for physical machines.  The guest operating system has no idea on the vmx file.

  • Sysprep and Windows Activation

    Hello!

    I noticed that on the models that require Sysprep, the virtual machine must have responsive Windows.  It's a bit embarrassing because it can be easily overcome.

    Article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302577) details that you can run sysprep with the active switch, and it will not be awarded to zero activation of Windows setting.  That would solve my problem, but I don't know if there is somewhere I can modify the command sysprep.

    When the LM command would change to make it work with the switch?

    Thank you

    -Jesse Reinhart

    no other options exist (as far as I know), more on sysprep with the activation works.

    Similar problems exist with Windows 2008 because you can only use sysprep to customize which.
