System.Exit (0)

System.exit (0) the application closes and he has associated threads?

If not... is there a way to kill all threads that are pulled out of your application?

As far as I know, Yes, he does. System.Exit will terminate the application that has the thread on which System.exit is called, as well as all threads belonged to this application.

    Any ideas what could cause this error?

    First I thought maybe it's because the same mistake: what to do if your Package ID was rejected by BlackBerry App World

    But the creation of a new element of product does not help with this problem.

    It is a native application of qml Qt. It does not store the files, need to no write access and uses only simple, free of components created 1.0 QtQuick with no additives. So, it should be the best portable application out of my small collection.

    Unfortunately I have no real device here since I, like many of you, to present one of my tablet at BB App World Applications, first to get a.

    Google was not my friend on this topic, so I hope someone has this kind of error message and could tell me what could bring it. Any kind of advice are welcome.

    Best regards

    HELEx (Ambassador of Qt)

    FYI, a new simpler command allows to sign the 1 step:

    BlackBerry-sign - storepass .bar

    P12 both RDK of passwords must be the same, but this measure will apply to both the two signatures. It should have the same results as the command that you run.

  • Exit the Application through System.exit (0)

    Hi, I want to close my request when I click a ButtonField. I was wondering if invoke System.exit (0) is a reasonable way to do it (close the application)? I tried to call UiApplication.getUiApplication () .requestClose (), but that did nothing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, requestClose() does nothing. I fell too for that. It's right there for you replace to do the cleaning. I don't know when it is actually called, or if it is used if you are using System.exit()... I think not, but I have not tested. System.Exit is reasonable given the lack of other options.

  • Event of exit/close application trap on exit/return of the device button

    I developed an application in Sib. I want to intercept the output/closing event of the request so that I can ask the user for the confirmation message.

    It may happen that the user will click the back button on the BB device accidentally. If I don't want it of happen and will show the confirmation message.

    There are a variety of ways that you can incorporate it, but I don't know of a hook that will let do it without changing your code.

    The following suggestions can help you change your code.

    (1) If your application has a home screen, i.e. that it all comes down, then override the close() method and replace with your dialogue.  If the user wants to get out, then call super.close ().

    (2) If you have several places that emit the system.exit(), replace it with a call to your own method of "release manager", that shows the same dialog and emits only the system.exit() if confirmed.

  • How to create an exit button using onChangeListener

    Hey this is the noob again. I finally my main screen GUI put in place and it looks great so now I want to add some features to my buttons. I have been looking around but little lost in how to do this, so here's some of my code. Right now I just try to make the exit button (that I created), exit the application and say something. Any help?  Oh, and another question, for another button, how could I get this button to switch screens to another category (for example a help button goes to a help page)

    Thanks again!

    That's what I have:

    ButtonField exitBut = new ButtonField ("Exit", Field.FIELD_HCENTER)

    FieldChangeListener listenerExitBut = new FieldChangeListener() {}

    ' Public Sub fieldChanged (field field, int context) {}

    }
    public boolean onClose()
    {
    Dialog.Alert ("Bye World!");
    System.Exit (0);
    Returns true;
    }
    };

    exitBut.setChangeListener (listenerExitBut);

    fieldManagerMid.add (exitBut);

    You can instance fieldChangeListener in 2 ways

    1. create an internal interface of the fieldChangeListener

    2. to implement the fieldChangeListener in your screen

    in this Sub fieldChanged, you need to determine the user click

    public void fieldChanged(Field field, int context) {
       if (field == exitBut)
       {
          Dialog.alert("Bye World!");
          System.exit(0);
       }
    }

  • GlobalEventListener: to distinguish between system module and gui entrypoint

    Hey. I have an application with a system module that should always run and a gui with a EULA entry point. Once accepted the EULA, I want the gui to close application and the module of the system to begin running. (It works on battery pull, but the goal is to avoid asking the user to do).

    eventOccurred in GlobalEventListener fires twice, I guess once for the module of the system and once for the GUI. Two apparently weird things happen. First of all, when I use a global boolean to make a distinction between the sysmod and GUI, GUI screen is stuck and the sysmod seems to be exited. (Or I tried passing the processid of the sysmod and just exit with a different id - the GUI.) Same effect).

    Then when I remove the and check only for the guid of the global event, the eula, the sysmod screen farm stop logging but an icon of the application with the generic blue icon are still there in the app selector (hold the menu button).

    All I want to do is start the system module and close the EULA gui, so that the user need not cold start. Thanks for your time... code below. J.

    class MDB extends UiApplication implements GlobalEventListener

    Hello. The whole situation turns that arose because despite searching, I was not in the current Modules of the system to start when the application is installed (or opening). I knew only that they were running at startup, then in the absence of a way to start them from code, I asked users to cold start their phones!

    Although I do not understand what caused this error, it might have something to do with the planning of a timer job or adding a listener to an instance of the application system, and then exit the application before the timer is due to run it. Could someone with more understanding fill in us, on what it would do, but unless there is another way, I wouldn't do it.

    The solution was to do nothing. Delete all of the code to start the module of the system. And the other thing of smaller was to detect whether the instance is the module of the system or the gui entry point, Yes, you can use a global var but not a static. In acceptsForeground, you just check this global var defined in the hand and to be sysmod, false return.

    Will seek some of the discovered books recently, in order to aim to post 2 days a week only I think that in the future.

  • How to play a sound file before you exit an application?

    Hey guys, I'm a newbie.

    I need dev an app it will play a sound file(mp3 perhaps) before release the app that my code is as follows:

                        close();
                    }
                }, 500, false);

    -------------------------------------------------- ----------------

        private void playAudio() {
            // first we need to find the supported content types
            String types[] = Manager.getSupportedContentTypes(null);
            for (int cnt = types.length - 1; cnt >= 0; --cnt) {

                        InputStream is = getClass().getResourceAsStream(
                                "/sound/sound.mp3");
                        // create an instance of the player from the InputStream
                        Player player = javax.microedition.media.Manager
                                .createPlayer(is, "audio/mpeg");
                        // player.addPlayerListener(this);
                        player.realize();
                        player.prefetch();

                        VolumeControl volumeControl = (VolumeControl) player
                                .getControl("VolumeControl");
                        volumeControl.setLevel(100);

                        // start the player
                        player.start();

                    } catch (Exception ex) {
                    }
                } else if (types[cnt].equals("audio/x-wav ")) {
                    // this is where you would play wav files

                }

            }
        }

    the above code works fine on the Simulator, but not bad in real device (bb 9550). It closed just the app without playing the audio file. does anyone have a better solution?

    (Note: the mp3 file is very short, less than 0.5 s)

    first of all, I suggest you not to use invokelater like that, it's mainly to put things in the event queue and a system.exit does not queue. You can use a thread or a timer.

    Second, I guess that 500 ms is not enough time for your system to play audio properly. I also suggest to put the audio player in an own thread.

  • Override dialog box "Save changes" when you exit an application

  • Can not read the Oracle JVM system property unless the class is reloaded

    I want to be able to read system properties set of DBMS_JAVA .set_property of a java stored procedure. To do this, I have this simple code:

    public static String getEnvironmentVar(String propertyName) {
            return System.getProperty(propertyName);
    }

    When I run the present on the database, java stored procedure does not seem to load the property just has DBMS_JAVA .set_property:

    declare
         s      varchar2(100);
    begin
         s := dbms_java.set_property('test_prop', 'test_val');
         s := getEnvironmentVar('test_prop');  -- This is my java stored proc
         dbms_output.put_line(s);
    end;

    However, when I reload the class in Oracle (with loadjava); the property is read correctly. Am I missing something?

    Thank you.

    If you try the declare in a new session of RDBMS, I think you'll find that it works.  Or insert the line

    s: = dbms_java.endsession;

    between the dbms_java.set_property and the getEnvironmentVar call.  When dbms_java.set_property is called, it creates a value for a property that is used only for subsequent initializations of the java VM for this session of RDBMS.  It does not affect the java VM that has already been initialized in the session, as appropriate.  If java has not been used before that in the session underway, then the virtual machine will be initialized when the getEnvironmentVar call is made and the value established earlier by dbms_java.set_property discussed.  But if java had already been used in the session, such as would happen if you had previously created or solved the class containing the method getEnvironmentVar of the session, then the value set by dbms_java.set_property is not visible (unless and until that something (like dbms_java.endsession, System.exit or an unrecoverable error) occurs to put an end to the existing java VM without end of the RDBMS session).

    After recovering in the SSD space, I ran the option in DiskUtility 'fix' with these results:

    1 volume bitmap needs minor repairs for orphan blocks

    2 save file system exit code is 8

    3 operation was successful.

    I ran it again, the function of repair with these results:

    1 Macintosh volume has been found damaged and must be repaired

    2 save file system exit code is 8

    3 operation was successful.

    Hoping that the repair function had solved the problem, I ran it again with these results:

    1 volume bitmap needs minor repairs for orphan blocks

    2 save file system exit code is 8

    3 operation was successful.

    Thought that I needed to restart the device. After the re - start disk repair utility told me:

    1 volume bitmap needs minor repairs for orphan blocks

    Invalid 2 free block count

    (it should be 33309635 instead of 333008871)

    3 save file system exit code is 8

    3 operation was successful.

    What is my next step?

    Should I ignore this message?

    If this isn't the case, it must be repaired, and how do I do this?

    Is this something that would need to get a new drive?

    Thank you

    If you don't have a good backup make one now. Always keep your Mac backed up on an external drive with Time Machine or utility of cloning like SuperDuperordouble clone.

    Next step is to clear and re - format the hard drive and then restore your system from now the command option + R keys

  • El Capitan utility disk first aid fails - unable to unmount the volume for repair

    Question: Given the following error with Disk Utility first aid and success with diskutil check volume, I should consider my drive damaged or volume?

    After a crash of the system on my Mac mini (end 2012) running that OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 has experienced a kernel panic induced by the adapter USB Wi - Fi, I dutifully ran first aid utility disk on each volume on the disk, in order to ensure the integrity of system files.

    What I feel with disk utility (GUI) first aid:

    First aid process has failed. If it is possible to backup the data on this volume.  Click OK to continue.

    Additional information: I didn't have any problems with this disk volume. I use it only as a Time Machine backup destination. It is an encrypted volume OS X Extended (respect for case-sensitive). My concern involves only disk utility complaint that its "first aid process has failed."

    After reading the complaints in other forums that utility disk on El Capitan has been "dumbed down" and can not perform many of the functions that the utility of the same name used to be able to perform in previous versions of Mac OS (complaints, I can't confirm because I'm relatively new to MacOS - although extremely in computing with Windows, UNIX and Linux) (, so I didn't get to use disk utility a lot, before El Capitan), I decided to do the same "check the volume" that I knew first aid was trying to perform with the diskutil command-line app.  Guess what? No error!:

    What I have experienced with command-line diskutil:

    I will finish success of diskutil verifyvolume that my disk volume is not serious and that Disk Utility first aid simply does not correctly?

    Thank you!

    I think you might be able to do a repair of first aid, after you have disassembled the drive first:

    1. Run OS X by an external device (ex: USB mode, or external hard drive or disk target from another Mac)
    2. Launch the Terminal and run the following command umount f /Volumes/ (ex: umount f/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD)
    3. Then run disk utility first aid.

    I had this problem on a Macbook Air, I tried to recreate the image to work, so I didn't need to get anything off the drive. I tried to format the drive and reinstall OS X. So I don't know if first aid work after disassembly, but it worked without a doubt after that I did the first two steps above and then deleted from the disk. Not sure if this will help, but worth a try, I guess.
