System recovery - how to find records

I recently did a system recovery. I saved my files on a USB I have updloaded to my computer. Download created an icon on my desktop I can access; However, I can't locate the files of type of user such as pictures, word documents or excel spreadsheets. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, what that tells me is that you have created a recovery discs to restore your computer to the original factory Conditions.

Your personal files are gone unless you have saved the separately using a third-party backup program.

System Restore also means that you will have to reinstall all your programs such as Word, Excel and everything you had installed.

  • System recovery: how long does take?

    I'm trying to recover my system through repair of the DVD Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  How many hours does take for a 1 TB partition?  The partition is on a RAID 1.  I have a second volume of 1 TB and I wonder if she attempts to retrieve that too, but the BONE is only on the C: volume.  All answers are appreciated

    Sincerely,

    penciline

    It should only take that a few hours - with this disc size and depending on how full it is it can take as long as 4 hours or more (maybe even a bit longer).  If she "s been going on for 12 hours or more, then it is almost certainly frozen and no longer works.  The problem is that close a system in the middle of a repair of the system can cause much harm to the operating system to the point where the only option is a clean install (so I hope you you saved before you start).  Even if the system starts (and is not), the chance to try an alternative remedy are greatly reduced.  But if the system has been running for that long and is still not done, so you can wait a little longer (say another day) just to be absolutely certain or you can bite the bullet, power off the system, and to pray, it works always or you can repeat the process of repair of the system.  If find you any type of access, and that you do not have a backup, do one as soon as possible as the chances of the system crashing or refusing to start are increased considerably after one such event then do the backup while you still can (if you still can).

    Frankly, I don't know how it works with RAID 1.  I suspect it is the repair on the C: drive and simultaneously makes the changes to the other player or expected that it has and then modifies the other disk after the first has been repaired.  I don't know if he's going 'out' system before the two disks are again identical, or if he will do once the C: drive is over. If it needs to do both before you complete the process, then double the time I listed above (which means wait another day can be a choice wise).  The worst, you have to lose is another day without your computer if it still works on the repair.  I'll be patient because the alternative in the case of which is often unpleasant to say the least.

    If you have no backup and cannot start normally or in safe mode after this, you can tryKnoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (made on a different computer).  Boot the disk.  This might give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.  If this does not work, try slaving the hard drive to another computer and see if you can access it with the other computer.  If so, you should be able to backup your important data.  If this isn't the case, then the only way to possibly recover the data would be to take the reader to a technician in data recovery (which will charge a fortune and give no guarantee).  Or you can simply write the data and do a clean install.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • How to find records of value for a specific period of time?

    Hello

    I'm building an application where I need to use BDB to store tons of documents of the call.

    In the files, I have the following fields:
    1. appellant's
    2. to the appellant
    3. start time
    4. end of time
    5. account code
    6. user code
    I want to use the representation of microsecond of end times to use the key.

    So, how can I do the following database search?

    1. research all records of value between 2009-10-11, and now()
    2. find the value of all records between 2009-10-11 to now() with account-code = 100
    3. find the value of all records between 2009-10-11 to now() with account-code = 100 and user code = 10

    Are there similar examples out there that I can do?

    Thank you

  • How to find records given a child parent key

    I have a main table that is parent for several children tables. I want to display a button to delete a record in the primary table. I would have preferred to see the this key conditionally so when a master record's child records, I don't show button Delete and no error is raised.
    Of course I could scan each child table to find the child records, but I think that must be a generic method

    How can I tell if a given parent key has child records?

    There is no magic/generic way to verify that a main line has no associated detail line. As says Pavan, you must decide which detail the tables to check and them using SQL as usual. (In fact, there is a quick way - you remove the line if there is no child rows with foreign keys which is not cascade, the delete will fail; but of course you can't use this in case the deletion succeeds and the user never wants to push the button).

    An addition to the Pavan response: DO NOT under any circumstances to count all records in the table of every detail. Everything you want to know is, is it at least 1 record retail at least 1 tables. No need to count the lines 100 or 1000...

    You can do it like this in your PL/SQL

    FUNCTION check_children(p_master_id IN INTEGER) RETURN BOOLEAN
    IS

      CURSOR c_child1  IS
      select 1 from child_table_1 where master_id = check_children.p_master_id;

      CURSOR c_child2 IS
      select 1 from child_table_2 where master_id = check_children.p_master_id;

      -- etc for all child tables

    l_rec_present integer := null;

    BEGIN

        OPEN c_child_1;
        FETCH c_child_1 INTO l_rec_present;
        CLOSE c_child_1;

        IF l_rec_present i= 1 THEN
            -- there is a child in child_table_1
            RETURN TRUE;
        END IF;

        OPEN c_child_2;
        FETCH c_child_2 INTO l_rec_present;
        CLOSE c_child_2;

        IF l_rec_present i= 1 THEN
            RETURN TRUE;
        END IF;

    -- etc for each child; finally, if no child found:

       RETURN FALSE;
    END;

    This made sure that (1) you stop once you find any child, and (2) you get all NO_DATA_FOUND and TOO_MANY_ROWS exceptions thrown.

  • The system recovery disk - how do without floppy drive?

    I am trying to create a "system recovery disk" as part of the TOSSHIBA ASSIST (protect and fix the section).

    However, before we proceed, I noted that he was invited to a 'floppy' create a recovery disc but this model without this facility data can be recorded on a CD. I didn't get throughout the procedure and find that I couldn't finish it due to no floppy drive!

    Or otherwise just use the product recovery DVD - Rom supplied with the laptop in case of problem... not sure if this would hold the same data?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Christine

    If you look carefully on this print option (shortcut) it is written to create the CD drivers & tools and in aria info nothing follow description allows to create an external symbol to the top of the caisse de dépôt drivers & tools.

    You use this shortcut, you can simply create Tools & Utilities CD and not the system recovery media. I did a few times without any problem. Equip your optical drive for CD - R, click on this shortcut, click the button BURN.

  • HP Envy 700-216: how to use the files in my System Recovery folder on my desktop?

    I had to do a recovery of the system, due to damaged or corrupted Windows files. I backed up my files on 9 DVDs. System Recovery has restored the files in a folder on my desktop, but how do I use them?

    I'm mainly interested in restoring my data to my Quicken 2010 and possibly my 2015 AutoCad.

    You are welcome.

    The only answer I have for not being able to find the files is that they can not have been backed up.  Otherwise, they should be in the folder.  I have to be honest.  I did several laps, but never made a backup of my files.  I always keep my personal data, backups of Quicken, photos, etc. on the external USB hard drives.  If the data are very important to me, I have it on at least two disks.

  • System Recovery Options - no operating system listed, need to load the drivers, but don't know where to find this (Windows Vista 64-bit)

    It is a gateway M6866 laptop running Windows Vista 64-bit.

    The computer does not start up--gives "BOOTMRG is missing" error at startup.  I'm trying to boot from the 64-bit of Windows Vista recovery disc.  I clicked on the "repair your computer" option, and it shows the computer loading files.  Then the "System Recovery Options" box appears and asks me to select the operating system to fix it.  The problem is that nothing has listed.  It is said that if your OS is not listed click Load Drivers.  I did, but it is said to insert the device installation media, and then click OK to select the driver.  I clicked on OK and then opens a browser window to select the file.

    I don't know which file I'm supposed to select here.  I searched online for an answer, and someone told him to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the driver for RAID controller.  I tried to go to the site of the bridge to find it, but it doesn't seem to be one for Vista 64-bit.

    Please please help!  I have to at least be able to extract the files to the hard drive before reinstalling windows.

    Hello

    ·        Have you Configure RAID on the system?

    If you have not configured then RAID on the system, I suggest you to disable the RAID/eSATA (SATA improved) in the BIOS. Once you turn off the RAID/eSATA on the system that your basic hard disk should be recognized by the system because it doesn't require any drivers, it will act as an IDE. Once you have disabled the RAID/eSATA then booting into the recovery environment and build the Bootrec and check if the problem is resolved. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to rebuild the bootrec.

    Rebuild the BCD store by using the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. get the Vista installation DVD and pop in your drive.

    b. then restart your computer.

    c. press a key when you are prompted.

    d. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then hitNext

    e. click on repair your computer

    f. click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next

    g. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt

    h. type bootrec /rebuildbcd and then press the Enter"" key.

    ·        If Bootrec runs successfully, it will present you with the installation of a Windows directory path. To add the entry in the BCD store, type Yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry has been added successfully.

    ·        If Bootrec cannot findany lack of facilities of Windows, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order shown below: (remember to press ENTER after each command)
    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

    i. restart the computer.

  • FIND PHOTOS OR VIDEOS AFTER ACCIDENTAL SYSTEM RECOVERY

    I ACCIDENTALLY MADE A RECOVERY SYSTEM AND HOPING TO FIND PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. PLEASE ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... VERY SAD ALL THE PHOTOS SINCE WENT DIGITAL IN TRYING TO CLEAN UP AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

    Here are some free recovery programs that might help:

    http://www.SoftPerfect.com/products/FileRecovery/

    http://techpaul.WordPress.com/2008/06/23/how-to-recover-your-lost-files/

    The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  A full system recovery crushes a large number of files.  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace more data you want to retrieve.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC and as a result of the recovery.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some or most or even all files - it's a matter of luck).

    Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they generally offer no guarantees.  The decision is yours.

    Frankly, I don't think that you will be able to recover a lot given the circumstances, but it's worth a try (and almost the only option you have in more expensive professional who may do better).

    Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 boot CD system recovery cannot fix the Master Boot Record is damaged or missing?

    This question is on the drive that Windows 7 users can make by going to the backup and restore > create a system repair disc, and then burn the disc.

    Windows says that this disk can be used to start the computer. However, you will not necessarily be able to boot your Windows 7 operating system from the hard drive. When I had a problem recently (shut down system and on reboot I got a message BACK that says "Boot MGR missing") this disc is not to try to do a repair. In the system recovery Menu, you see here when you start the CD:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/what-are-system-recovery-options#what-are-system-recovery...

    I chose "Startup Repair" and he couldn't fix anything. I ended up cloning of my hard disk from a backup.

    Of http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/startup-repair-faq#1TC=windows-7

    "Are there problems that Startup Repair cannot fix?

    Startup Repair can only fix certain problems, such as missing or damaged system files. He can't fix the failures of hardware, such as a failing hard disk or incompatible memory, nor it protects against virus attacks.

    Startup Repair is not designed to fix Windows installation problems, is not a backup tool, so it cannot help you recover personal files, such as photos or documents. To help protect your computer, back up your system and your files regularly. For more information, search for "backup" in Windows Help and Support. »

    So here's my question: how to create a bootable CD that has everything you need to fix the Master Boot Record, whereas in case your startup files are damaged, altered, or deleted (and of course, you can not start your system from the hard drive) it will be either fix the files on the hard disk or at least still start your operating system on your hard drive?

    To answer my own question (which becomes a habit on this forum): http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20864-mbr-restore-windows-7-master-boot-record.html

    It turns out that the repair CD Windows 7 Sytem that I had done was the right tool for the job but I didn't know how to use it. The above link explains how to use the command prompt window to repair the boot record.

    Other advice, I had was to have used the "Startup Repair" option in the Tools menu of recovery after launching the repair CD, but then he runs three times. For some reason, it takes three times to run before it can solve the problem. I think that the command prompt window method is probably more reliable.

    Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

    These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

    One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.
