GM5420, G965 express processor and directx 11 or 10 and I run Avast Anti-virus.  My SR = system restore has worked for many years and now the past 3-4 months whenever I need it, it starts as usual, but at the end it says error could not change your system. No file or folder have been changed.  The only thing I can think is around the same time, 3 to 4 months ago, I found and started using some utilities to clean up my computer.  I have 4 different services who clean things different from vitsa. I wonder if 1 of deleted then a file that I need to use SR?  And if not how can I repair my vista then SR woeks again? Thank you

  And another problem that earlier, I started to have my yahoo email will not load a web page, so that I can ck my emails or use any other link on messenger to open a web page of yahoo. He worked as my messenger hotmail from microsoft that works very well. I uninstalled yahoo messenger and reinstalled several times but each time that nothing works. I can sign but can't click on anything. A s error message opens and says can not find the web yahoo page you are looking for. I really need my email yahoo to work right as my hotmail works very well.  I wonder if its my IE9 that something has changed there and now yahoo of just work, I don't know just a guess. Its driving me crazy why these two problems came earlier when I've never had a problem with either an ever sice I had this beautiful Vista computer.  Please tell what to do easy to understand the answer I can do what you think I should do to solve the two problems?   Certainly sounds like the registry cleaner has done by the removal of 10% of the files.

  If SFC does not help, you will need to follow the rest of the information available to me somehow. (ask about DVD).

  Or save your data and reinstall Vista.

  You don't say what brand of computer for Recovery Options and you say that you do not have a Vista DVD; but a recovery disk came with him...

  To re - activate:

  1. click on start, run and type regedit.exe, and then press enter

  Hi, my father-in-law has tried to install a speaker sound systems on his PC and needed to return to a previous configuration using the system restore. He has done this, but lost all its bookmarks firefox during the process.

  Just an update: the driver to install and/or the system restore had Firefox set up a new profile. I was able to restore the bookmarks from the old profile via RDP remote (really desperate Phonecall)

  Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?

  In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.

  Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

  First of all, please note that what you were doing was * not * a system restore. System Restore is a * Windows * function restores Windows and has nothing to do with your files.

  What you were doing was the recovery of the system provided by the manufacturer of your computer. That puts shaped windows in car and renstalls hard on it. You probably can't get your files back.

  Allow me to mention something else. Your question indicates that you do not have a regular backup of your important files. If this is the case, you are playing with fire. Even if you never make a system recovery, it is always possible that a hard disk crash, the user error, close to love at first sight, virus attack, even stolen computer, can result in the loss of everything on your drive. As it has often been said, it is not a question of whether you will have a problem, but when.

I am logged on as administrator Windows 7 Ultimate, I went to restore my system files and is turned off by mistake, while I thought was not a problem, I knew not that it deletes the system restore all files, so here I am again to make it back on and guess what, it is said that the administrator should be informed that they are off their After trying several ways to achieve this, I resorted to no protection on my UAC, it has not helped, tried a new UAC which did not help either, so now I'm on my hands and knees hoping someone out there can help, after such a simple mistake that I was allowed to do because I was Admin , I went to not even be able to system restore back on without contact my administrator! Is any way around this, there must surely be, any help would be greatly apreciated.

  It sounds as if your PC has been hacked - bad! (Alternatively, according to the)
  How you look at these things).
  You almost certainly have a significant infestation of malicious software, which, even if
  cleaned up, could still accommodate unsuspected backdoors.
   
  My recommendation would be to backup your data on an external drive, and
  which is verified by a decent anti-virus, reformat and reinstall
  the operating system on your system.
