System update fails
Tried to run the system update but still get this message (from today, but tested several times):
An error was detected in the catalog of package for your system on the server to update the system. Please contact the Support Center.
I have the latest version installed and the latest updates and drivers (AFAIK). My computer is a X201i win7 x 64. Any ideas? (And if not, how can I contact the "support center"?)
Thank you!
It looks like all I had to do was uninstall, reinstall and restart. Not sure why I suddenly had this error, however. Quite boring.

Test system update fails on ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
I use Oracle 9.2.0.6 on HP - UX (B.11.11)
I'm refreshing to a test of production on the same server system.
The update fails on...
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'
I do mainly:
-Place prod tablespaces in backup mode
-Copy the files from production to test directories
-Take prod tablespaces out of backup mode
-pass the prod (once for each newspaper group) log files
-copy files from archive prod to test
STARTUP NOMOUNT
Create control file from a copy of the prod trace file
(CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE SET DATABASE 'ELLTEST' RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG)
It works
RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE
-J' I grab the last log archive copied during production.
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: ' / elltest/system/system_01.dbf'
I think I have I have all required log archiving prod?
Any advice? What you're trying to do is an incomplete recovery of the database. Since the redo logs are not used in your recovery you must explicitly specify the time to stop. If you do not process assumes a complete recovery and will require a request for reinstatement of online recovery log data that you do not.
You can use UNDO based recovery with
RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL USING BACKUP CONTROL FILE;
then type CANCEL after the last active log has been applied.
Open with option RESETLOG database. It should work. -
Have recently upgraded to Vista 32-bit SP1. As an administrator, I tried to get Windows updates and everything seemed up-to-date except SP2. Where is the code of K8948465 8007000D. I then followed the troubleshooting advice found here and research online, saying to download and run the system update tool. I saved my PC OK but he is unable to complete the installation sequence and it's there in "installation" of State. I temporarily disabled McAfee. No help.

ThinkVantage System Update fails to install updates
Hello everyone
I use the update system (SU) in Windows 7 x 64. I tried to update the drivers with it, but after downloading all packages without problem (with SU) and try to install, I get the message that no updates have been installed (SU displays a list with all selected packages, result of the installation as having failed and a link to install manually).
I also tried to manually download and intall them separately, same company: installation does not seem to encount problems, but also drivers seems not to be installed, as the list of available updates in the SU is the same. Have someone had this problem? Someone at - it an idea to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance

System update fails to download updates
SU returns an error saying "an error occurred when downloading the packages.". I reinstalled SU, Solution Center etc. nothing works. He used to work, but now it does not always... What to search, or to change to get it back?
Thanks in advance.

Hello. I recently acquired a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium x 64. At first startup, I ran Windows update. As usual, a large number of updates have been downloaded and installed. Reboot, Windows update run and failed with the failure of the code 800b0100 and 8007065E. By clicking on the error codes led to a suggestion that 800b0100 could be solved by downloading and running the "System Update Readiness Tool" (KB947821). The help text for 8007065E says nothing useful.
I have downloaded and run the tool preparation system update, but after that Windows Update has failed once again.
Deselecting all individual updates but I finally managed to get everything except three to install. The other three are KB2442962, KB982214 and KB2345886.
I ran the system update tool several times.
I ran the "Windows Update Troubleshooter". He noted that he has made no changes to the system.
I downloaded the updates individually and run them manually.
They do not always succeed.
Grateful for any suggestion.
Hey, Marc P
Thanks a lot for your offer to help. If I had checked this thread earlier I would have taken you to this topic.
However after trying various other ineffective solutions proposed by MS supports (such as installation of downloads in 'safe mode', which produces the error message "this service cannot be started in safe mode") I ended up doing a reinstall instead of the BONE. That fixed it.
Thanks for all your attempts to help.

2 UPDATES are constantly down since 12/16/10 Update: update of security for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2431831) and update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB2288931). I tried to REINSTALL... and CONTINUED on for more than a week now with no result. I don't get the error messages or codes, so I'm not sure what to do! They are considered IMPORTANT so I guess that I need these updates and I TRIED to REBOOT after updates with NO RESULTS as well. (I am running Windows Version 6.0 with Service Pack 2) The 2 latest updates only "UPDATED successfully", before the long chain UPDATES failed, which began on 12/16/2010 (as previously mentioned) were: update for Internet Explorer for Windows Vista (KB2467659) and Security Update for Windows Vista (KB2305420) someone knows what do to update failed? Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you. {By the way... I use my computer for use at home or school.} Thank you.

Update for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB2345886) fails
Update for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB2345886) fails everytime. I have restarted my computer several times now. Whenever I do, update indicates "Failure configuration Windows updates" and I have to restart again. Whenever I am able to log in again, it says that I have to restart my computer to perform updates. Once I've done this several times now. What's wrong? What must I do to fix this?
You receive errors related to updates?
- Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
- In the left pane, click view update history.
- Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update. - In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

Install before SP2 system update readiness tool - KB973540 failed code 80073712
I want to install Service Pack 2 and get the answer I need to install the update for Vista 32 system preparation tools before installing SP2.
When you perform on Vista 32 system update readiness tool - I get notice of low load failed with code KB973540 failing 80073712. This error code description say "ERROR SXS CORRUPT COMPONENT STORE - the component store is in an unstable state".
I used the article knowledge base Microsoft support using the method 1 and 2 to fix this, I always get failed code 80073712.
I closed all programs and I checked my list of blocked programs before trying to download, still no download and even failed code 80073712.
On method 3 is where I need to reinstall Vista. I'd rather not do this because of the penalty to restore all my files and programs. It would take me weeks restore all these files, I have 24 websites with different settings and many files on each. Is there an easier way to fix my problem of code failed or an easy way to restore my programs and files?

System analysis tool update fails with error 0x800704c7
After having the problem that Windows Update crashes on 'check updates', I followed the recommendations on http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/what-is-the-system-update-readiness-tool, installed the preparation tool system update, but unfortunately after several hours, it failed with error 0x800704c7. What can I do now?
I'm on a Toshiba PC with Windows 7 professional service Pack 1 32-bit.
If looking for updates to hang on a current installation,
Be sure and go to uninstall a program and see which Microsoft Net framework you have installed.
4.5.2 is more consistent to have installed,
https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=42642
Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily
Restart the machine
You can try and install the latest client update manually let your update settings to never check for updates until you install it.
https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3138612
Then you download this from your download folder run from there.
https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/library/security/MS16-039?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Download the x 86 for 32-bit or x 64 for 64-bit
Install it and restart when prompted too after he did a search of stand-alone for updates that should not
take too long, it took all of 5 seconds, '' If '' windows update settings are turned on forever check
updates before running from the downloads folder.
Once it installs and restarts
You can reset your updates affecting everything you had before default =...
Then check the updates manually.
I think that the solution came from Softpedia and Joel_CS posted on this thread,

Windows Update Failed and triggers system reboot
Hello
Every 10 minutes, the update triggers windows to restart the computer.
I tried to download the updates failed, but when tried to install it, I get a message that already exist.
I deleted the update history. Problem still persists.
I searched through the community, but could not find a method to solve the problem.
Also, I tried to restore the system, even that does not work because of the 0x80071A91 error code

Help, please.

Updates for 32-bit system continually fail
Original title: update windows 32 bit dor
updates for 32-bit system continually fail. My system is 64-bit
You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:
How to reset the Windows Update components
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058
Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

I have a Windows 7 64-bit system I bought a provider on the local computer for a long time with Windows installed.
I replaced my hard drives of 500 GB (mirrored RAID configuration) system with hard drives of 1 TB.
After replacing the readers, I also installed a set of Windows updates. We update failed. After you restart the computer, I ran Windows update again. It seemed that all upgrades completed.
HOWEVER, I now have the message "this computer is not running Genuine Windows". Windows Indexing is not running, send me problems in Outlook and elsewhere.
I saw discussions on the online forum on the problem "Not genuine" resulting from an update of Windows failed and resulting also to change the hard drive.
I led Activation (slui.exe 3) typed in the product key from the sticker on the computer and it activates OK but does not erase the message.
I clicked on pay online now and ran legitcheck.hta and my system has failed validation. The options are to buy or to perform a new installation of Windows.
I have a lot of programs installed on the computer, and I can't lose all configuration data and reinstall all programs. That would take several days and I would not have a system can be used in the meantime.
I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (1.9.0027.0) and have these results below.
There are a lot of files file mismatches and "tampered with". I believe that this is due to the update has failed.
I thought to manually rerun all updates that goes back to the date when first I struggled (about a month). However, I wasn't sure if this solves the problem or make worse it.
You can leave the data below what actions I need to take the next?
I am a independent and use this computer to work. I have backups of my data files, but it is many installed applications that I can't do without.

The ThinkVantage System update cause video to fail again T61
It is a sporadic problem and can't just to the probably of the machines from 1 to 10, but it happens nonetheless. I was imaging a significant amout of T61, and part of the cleaning is to run the Thinkvantage system update utility. Updates only I have installed are up-to-date XP, ann RL/updates to update and the update of the BIOS. The last time I ran the updates on a machine, they are ones I installed:
-Updated Help Center
-Q934205 XP
-Q910728 XP
-Q917332 XP
-Q941880 XP
-Q918837 XP
-Q889816 XP
-Q923293 XP
-Intel LAN 11abgn, abg, bg, for Windows 2000/XP
-Intel Pro/1000 Lan
-Updated the Director presentation
-Features video Thinkpad
-Update the BIOS
-Adobe Flash Update
On some machines, when I run updates and reboot, the video breaks down and I have to enter safe mode, back the video driver, then out to the Lenovo downloads and download the latest video and it works. Strange, huh? I do not always install the video features of Thinkpad, I just did on the last machine I've updated to try to recreate the issue, but have not yet been successful. I'll try the MS KB but thought I would try to post everything here first and see if everyone is seen/had this problem.
Let me know if you need more information
Thank you

Correction of the problem. I don't know how many people this would apply to the. I was setup machine to another when the question that's happened, but I copied the updates until I installed them. I installed 3 (Q923293, Q934205 and Q941880) and reboot, the video has failed. I looked at the edits, and Q941880 was the only one who had to do with the video. I restored on installed upgrading until (Q934205, I think) and viola! It worked. So, if anyone has this problem, he could have to patch XP-Q941880, so either roll back to before installation, or restore your video driver and install the last being directly from Lenovo.com.
See you soon

Boot into Recovery (R command) and run disk utility > first aid on your MacintoshHD
You can always reinstall the os x from here, if necessary
