T400 6474 WWAN Ready?

Hello.

I have a T400 6474-AV5.  I want to know if she's ready WWAN, or if I should gain no additional element to enable this feature.

Thanks in advance.

Hi nmistre and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

There are a few resources that will give you the detailed configuration of a standard configuration of the ThinkPad. The Tabuk personal systems reference has more detailed information. You can also punch in the number of the product on the Support site & downloads of Lenovo.

What do you mean by WWAN ready?

Lenovo world, a system has either WWAN, or is it "Scalable WWAN" (the air: you can add the WWAN card later), or there is no WWAN hardware.

I hope this helps.

  • dm3-1105ea WWAN ready or not?

Hi, I have a dm3-1105ea with SIM card (on drums). I know this model not including wwan card, this feature is opcional and each DM3 model, including the SIM card.

I have now, I want to buy a modul WWAN gobi 2000 (it is good add-on?), but the problem is, I don't see the antenna cables. I know that the antenna is inside the screen lcd, but I'm not sure that this is true, because I do not see the antenna cables. This model is WWAN ready or not? When ready, where the cables? Otherwise, and I buy a WWAN card, I need thing an antenna, but I can't fix the antenna on the lcd screen.

What type of solution is, if I want to use the WWAN card?

    Concerning

    So, it's not about WWAN!

But you can change the material. I bought a un2420 Gobi 2000 card and drove a WWAN antenna. After that I downloaded the service manual and the laptop dissambled. After that, I have fixed the WWAN antenna and leads into the cover. Put in the card and the connecteg leads from the antenna. After, I downloaded the Gobi WWAN driver from HP support. Install the driver. Open the HP Wireless Asistans and turn on the WWAN connection. And work!   We are lucky, because the SIM card is attached to the motherboard.  And as GPS working as well!   All price: 38 pounds (WWAN card antenna + on eBay).

    Kind regards!

  • WWAN ready / able

    Hello

I'm looking for laptops with built-in WWAN.  However, I don't see this option when I'm shopping at the official site. In the wireless section, the only choice is related to the Wifi / bluetooth, WWLAN No.

Is it possible to eliminate all the ThinkPad team WWAN?  or does show anywhere if the model is ready WWAN or WWAN capable?  Thank you!

    Hello

where are you looking for mobile shopping? Look at this page and you will find an example of x 230 configuration with or without built-in 3 g and even the modem LTE (Yes, for the United States only).

My skills and supervision tell me any new generation of ThinkPad (x 230 including) are wwan ready i.e. resume adapter card wwan antenna kit and sim (of course, if they have free mini pci-e slot). But the statement - "WWAN ready" or 'WWAN Option' - is now missing in the description of the laptop on the Lenovo support site as we have seen earlier. And you can adapt wwan card yourself later.

Also, look at the options to display Type on the page of my link above. You see that all screens are made up of antennae kits, i.e.laptop is ready wwan in all cases.

  • T400 2768 WWAN?

    Hello

Can someone please confirm that there is NO WWAN device on my T400.

From here you can see the full list of devices (output devmanmview.exe /stext 400 txt):

Do not see. The best way to confirm must take off your keyboard. The WWAN is just under the keyboard, close left Ctrl, Alt pressed.

  • WWAN READY?

Hi, I just buy a new set of type 64731 3 model T400 * from a Lenovo reseller, after I bught (as to suggest) a modem internal high-speed 3 G for Vodafone (which they have already mounted in other T400)

My computer do not recognize new hardware!

Dealer do not know why, they me that defected may the motherboard. As the T400 is still under warranty I can ask them to change, but read in this forum, I think that's not the problem.

Someone can explain me if my T400 can mount this modem?

Moderator edit: Masked serial number for the protection of the Member.

I'd install driver Lenovo system interface first, then ACPI Power Management, then the keys, but I'm not sure if it's important.

Your new T400 will have a version of this software pre installed. The WWAN card "should" be detected when it is installed. When it is not, the first thing to do is to ensure that the drivers are properly installed and up-to-date.

If the drivers are installed and the WWAN card is inserted correctly, and it still does not work, you probably have a hardware problem that will be fixed under warranty.

Yes, your system is expandable WWAN. The red and blue threads indicate that your program already installed in the cover.

And finally, just checkin : The Wireless radio switch on the front of the T400 is in position, correct?

  • Lead time for the T400 Vista SP2 x 64 and hangs on reboot

    Hello

I searched the forums, but couldn't find the same problem. It looks more like a problem with the OS.

The problem is with T400 (description of model in the background) running Vista Ultimate x 64 SP2. I get huge delay before booting from the HARD disk (3-10 minutes). This happens just after the post, when it comes to a black silicone screen with the flashing line in the upper left corner, before the loading Vista appears. HARD drive may be the only boot device in the boot order, it is not serious.

Another problem that happens on every reboot. Windows stops, goes to black screen and hangs there. I can't POST in this case. I can only-hard restart, after that, I get same start-up time huge, before the options of windows to Safe Mode shows, etc. due to improper closing (or automatically the normal startup).

I ran all the tests of PC Doctor, the material is ok. I have updated to the latest version of the BIOS, HARD drive and firmware ODD and all the new drivers. All the patches to vista on lenovo download page appear to be part of SP2 now, because all say, they cannot be applied to the system.

I don't want to run XP or Vista x 86, since I hold the RAM to be used at full capacity.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem mentioned in the other thread you posted. I had to send mine and get the motherboard replaced.

1 remove the hard drive from the laptop

    2. start until this stops at a few guests

    3. press on Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart the portable computer

If it stalls / freezes on one screen empty and does not restart then it isn't a Windows Vista problem, because the hard drive is not there, but a hardware problem which you would have to return it and get fixed.

If it restarts right away then try to format and reinstall Vista.

    • Can the currently available P50 that has no option for WWAN be upgraded at a later date, that it is WWAN ready and just need a card, or the current P50 will not support WWAN and cannot be upgraded.
    • Also, if expandable there must already be a slot for the SIMM card, is there a?
    • It has been suggested that the WWAN option will be available in April, can someone confirm this?

  • x 200 7458-AU2 ready to Wan wireless?

card internal Mobile Broadband, given that my PCI card Mobile Broadband, I had for my T61 won't work with the x 200.

I'm not sure if my x 200 model is Wireless Wan ready or not.

How can I do to figure out if this is the case?

If not what can I allow him to use these cards?

    Thanks a lot vfery

    Fabrizio

Hi fnapolitano and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

Extensible WWAN or WWAN ready means the hardware you need for broadband wireless (antenna, SIM slot) is already built into the laptop, with the exception of a card compatible MOBILE broadband.

The 7458 - AU2 is displayed not as expandable on the support site WWAN.

How to determine whether the system is ready for WWAN must open and look for the blue and Red antenna cables. It is not so difficult. The details are in the hardware Maintenance Manual X 200and there are some nice videos show you how.

If it isn't extensible WWAN, you must install the Assembly of the antenna, which is not so easy.

  • T400 Bluetooth

I have a new T400 (6474-EB7) running Windows XP, which I am very happy with most of the time.

The only problem I have so far involves the integrated bluetooth.

I use a Targus AMB04 Bluetooth mouse, and whenever the mouse is idle for 10-15 minutes or more, I lose a connection with it.  By clicking on the buttons of the mouse, move the mouse and scrolling the wheel, all fail to bring the mouse. The only way to get the mouse connection is re - pair the device via the BT software.

I used Thinkvantage System Update to get the latest drivers for all devices, BT driver is 5.5.0.7600.  'Bluetooth Bus enumerator' both "Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate II" show in the device as manager being healthy (no yellow or Red icons).  From reading, I learned this problem can be created when the USB ports (to which BT is connected internally) goes to sleep.  However, I have "Enable always on USB" archived "Thinkvantage Power Manager" as well as in the BIOS.

Pilot T400 (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-72858) matrix has a file called 'Support Bluetooth file' v1.0.0.  I don't know what it is for, and no device recognizes when I try to install it.  Anyone know how to use 'Bluetooth Support file'?  It might even help me?

Any other suggestions how to solve my problem?

Looks like it's fixed, the pile of BT uninstallation and reinstallation of the causes the mouse to stay paired and wake up properly now.  Perhaps BT software must be installed after Thinkvantage Power Manager

    valerio_canc,

Unfortunately, it is not wwan adapter in your laptop. Laptop specs short descriptions on the Lenovo site includes the words "WWAN option. This means laptop is "wwan ready" has only - player of sim cards and wwan antenna installed, no wwan modem itself.

    Device Manager confirms that.
