T420 VGA problems

Hello

We have 18 meeting rooms, where many people use Lenovo T420. And sometimes the VGA connection gives us a few problems.

On the screen, it says not taken in charge, and we can only make it work when we can recycle all the Extender that we inserted between the signal Source and the projector which is Infocus IN3136.

We shared everything, between the two, and right now, we think that the problem could be the graphics card via the VGA output.

Everything works with the port Display

Hello

Have you checked that the drivers are installed and up to date?

For example, using system update:

https://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht080136

T420 typically has a CPU - GPU (Intel) and a Nvidia card

    Hi all

recently I've been an audio problem with my T420. It doesn't matter if I use the built-in speakers or an external playback via the audio device, audio volume goes up and down several times for a minute.

It's rather annoying and irritating. I use the standard driver provided by Lenovo and with stock settings.

If someone had this problem and could give me some advice?

    Thank you very much!

The framework was already to the people with reduced mobility.

I thought, maybe that's the problem, I've been experience, because it is only when I used Ethernet instead of WiFi: DPC latency + audio / mouse skip and stutter on t420--Lenovo's community

I tried the proposed parameters, without success.

Interestingly, re - install the same drivers that have been installed previously seems to have solved the problem.

Maybe some settings or installation screwed up.

  • ThinkPad T420 recovery problem

    Hi all

    I need your help. I have a problem with ThinkPad T420. When I am pressing ThinkVintage or F11 to get into recovery, it loads and then I get this message below;

    Link to image

Don't know how to solve this problem, thank you!

If partitions System_DRV and Lenovo_Recovery (q) has not been resized or corrupt, R & R should work. So, I guess to upgrade/reinstall application Lenovo Rescue & recovery via ThinkVantage System Update because there are a lot of conditions to perform this task manually (eg. There are several options for deployment and language packs).

If this does not help, it could be better and more quickly to create a Lenovo recovery media, it's almost the same Lenovo recovery environment you try to start using BB or F11:
-make it from Lenovo R & R application, advanced mode, rescue media
    - or simply deploy a .iso file image:
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\rrcd

Note, in any case, it is a good practice to have this rescue media.

If you want to reset the laptop to the factory scene, do it from recovery media factory Lenovo.

  • replacement screen t420 Lenovo problems

    Hey,.

My screen cracked a few weeks ago and I decided to order this form from amazon:
    http://www.Amazon.com/Lenovo-ThinkPad-laptop-substitute-replacement/DP/B004VUO2N6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8...

I followed a video online with instructions on how to replace the screen. Im sure that I installed it right but when I turned the laptop on only the backlight turned on and nothing else. Ive heard that it may be a problem with the display cable, but I'm not too sure. Any help would be how to fix this would be appreciated.

There are 3 parties involved (motherboard, display, cable) and there is not much you can be sure of without some spare parts for trying. I'll say that GENERALLY, if the motherboard damaged the screen damage, the motherboard fuse jump. As your backlight lights up, it is not the fuse. I found that, if the backlight lights up, in most cases, the cable is not plugged straight into the connector on the motherboard or, more likely, behind the Panel. If you plug the connector on the Board with the new band, it may pull to one side or the other. In addition, the connector of the cable behind the Panel is fragile and easy to damage. Finally, your new Panel may be defective. Cable not connected right or damaged is probably more likely.

  • T420 Bluetooth problems with file transfer, only restart fix

Hello everyone I have the most current drivers and BIOS by system update. I lit BT with FN + F5 and began to transfer some photos from my phone to the computer. After the second or third file the phone indicates that the transfer failed and transfer more files. Can I transfer pictures from the phone to my T400.

Then, I got another phone with BT to see if it might be at the computer. This phone has not been associated with my machine, I went in parameter BT and turned on "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer". Windows introduced an error message indicating that the settings have not changed and the BT unit is maybe unplugged.

According to FN + F5, the BT is. I tried to switch off the BT by FN + F5 and then on aging after a short wait. I got the same error. I tried power cycling the hardware network switch. Same mistake.

Restarting the computer is a temporary solution, but I can only transfer files from 2-3 before that it happen. I hope there is a solution to this problem that does not require me to buy a cable to transfer files between my phone and computer.

About a week after I posted it there new drivers and BIOS update available. I installed this and everything seems to work fine now.

  • Satellite L850 - lose taken VGA

    Hello

One of our schools recently brought 20 L850 and C850 Toshiba computers laptops.

As most of the staff allows to connect to his projector VGA port, VGA The port must be strong.

In recent days, we had 2 laptops with the Port VGA brought away from the laptop!

Just one thumb on the cable when connected breaks this port, and we cannot obtain compensation from Toshiba, because it is our fault and has only 1 YEAR!

Fixing this problem will cost us an entirely new mobo that will most likely cost to buy a new laptop.

Out of the 20 that we made we had more half with its imperfections within the first year of use. under the regulations of the EU with regard to the point of being quality market and adapted to the use of these questions should be repaired for at least 3 years of the purchase date. Otherwise, the item is unsuitable for sale.

Other issues we have had with these laptops within the first year of purchase were overheating, with the Fans to stop.

We had a hard drive replaced TWICE with us having to buy one ourselves because Toshiba has refused to replace it as it was out of warranty of 2 weeks. (in only 1 year warranty)

And finally a L850 that won't start. It stops at the Toshiba before even loading screen to the BIOS. (faulty CPU or memory) Once again this cell rupture within 2 years.

REPORT QUALITY / PRICE? I do not.

I think of course to departs Toshiba laptops in the future for our chain of 18 schools which are due to cell replacements.

We have also more than 100 HP Compaq Laptops in 2 schools in 2009, once is not what we asked HP for repairs. What happened to good quality computers laptops these days...?

And what happened to the screws next to the VGA port to hold the laptop VGA cable to prevent the VGA problem...

  • Satellite M200 screen turns off after that start & battery does not charge

Hello, I am from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (running Windows 7 Home Premium)

After I press the power button to the top of my laptop, it works fine display BIOS and Windows startup screen.
but after that my monitor off all of a sudden when Windows is supposed to show the login screen.

    Sometimes, the monitor doesn't turn off, but shows a lower resolution (I don't know exactly what resolution, 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, i use maybe 1280 x 800)
so the only thing I can do is, press the power button to stop bad then press power again turns on, my monitor works normally
try to stop and then turn on again in a few hours later, problems still comes once.

from the moment where I install Windows 7, I use 8.15.10.1930 version of the driver (downloaded from Download Center of Intel, which included Assistant TV Intel)
2 days ago, my friend told me that I should install the driver from the Toshiba site support, so I went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version of this site (which is not included Assistant TV Intel)

my monitor works normally after I installed the driver I of csd.toshiba.com, so I think that the problem because the Intel TV Wizard somehow messed with my laptop. But this morning this problem once again, my turns just monitor suddenly...

In addition, this problem seems to be my battery was unable to recharge, my completely reloaded Windows shows, but when I plugged my AC adapter,
There are 15-20 minutes before my laptop turns off automatically

Three months ago, I just brought my laptop to the local Service Center of Toshiba and bought the new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA problem too!)
Is there something I can do (related to Windows or driver/software) or I can bring my notebook at the center of service again?
are they somehow an incorrect wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am I need to replace my battery too?

I use this laptop for about a year and a half and there is nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard

any help would be appreciated :D

    Hello

Talk about your screen, the a graphics driver causes this malfunction with resolution and turn off. Go to the page of the toshiba driver and download the correct Vga driver for your model. I see, you are running Windows 7, if there is no driver for win7, try the vista driver.
On your power supply, you have used for the year and a half and he is released in 20 minutes, there is nothing strange. It's standard for power supply operating period, need to be replaced. Just to be sure, you can check with a new battery. You will see that the trick works as expected.

    Welcome them

    Hello

Sorry to hear all this. Of course, this isn't the best advice on Toshiba laptops, but the first thing that I m wondered after reading your ad was: why they bought these models L and C?

Like any other laptop manufacturer Toshiba offers various models with different hardware platforms and different prices. Following my logic books used in the school must be fairly robust and designed to be more in use. If you compare the L and C series laptops with notebook series P for example, you will notice the difference in design, quality and manufacturing.

Of course, there are big price difference and I can't imagine school have little budget and must turn to get machines but also save money.

What else can be said? It's really annoying to have this kind of problems, especially if you need these machines to work. My only advice to you is to pick up more info on laptops of next time. It can be Toshiba or any other laptop manufacturer. Best thing you can do is to contact your local dealer and check several different models. Focus on quality and design.

    Bye and good luck

  • Can satellite A100 - I put in resolution 1280 x 768 on my LCD TV?

I have a laptop A100-784 Satellite with Intel graphic 945GM (OS vista home Basic, latest graphics driver) and a brand new Sony Bravia LCD TV (KDL-32D3000K, 16:9).

Of course, for best results, it must use a RGB cable (the above mentioned Sony model has an RGB entry). The best resolution I could get on my TV is 1024 x 768, but according to the documentation of Sony TV, this TV supports 1280x768@60Hz, which has proportions much better. I'm pretty sure that the Intel chipset supports this resolution as well (it can be found in the list of the modes supported generated by SiSoft Sandra), but for some reason, the display driver will never give me a chance to select.

Simply, when I connect my laptop to the TV, then choose "single view" (TV output only), Intel graphics driver offers only resolutions with 4:3 aspect ratio. The only match between the resolutions supported by the TV and laptop is 1024 x 768, which is 4:3 and leaves a lot of space on the two unused faces.

Is it possible (simple) to force the Intel 945GM driver to display all modes (resolutions)? Or, at least, to supply 1280x768@60Hz which is my target?

This problem is driving me crazy. I already spent a whole week trying to solve this problem, without any progress.

    Thanks for your help.

I can only give you this little trick: go on the site of intel (www.intel.com), download the latest drivers intel for your graphics chipset, then an option screen should be available.

I had a similar, but with output VGA problem and I solved it by installing intel drivers for my chipset (945GMA), it s so worthy to try it.

  • Dell Inspiron n7010 17R questions form

    Hello

Recently, I had a bad car accident (I'm ok now: D) I had my laptop inside the car. After a few days, when I tried to power on my laptop, it started having a few problems.

First code 9 sound indicated a failure screen. After trying to connect to an external monitor via the vga 15 output pins, I noticed several vertical lines red transparencies (about 8 and about 5cm thick) when windows is loaded. When Windows starts Finally, these lines have disappeared and became the (transparent) red dots across the screen.

Any thoughts? What is a vga problem?

    Thank you

Yes, this sounds like a graphics card problem, especially if it occurs in external monitors. You will need to replace it.

  • T420 (4180 - 1 G 8): problem with VGA output for external monitor

    Followed by:

I tried the latest driver Intel "generic" after you completely uninstall the device from Device Manager driver: without success.

I tried a different monitor from another manufacturer: no chance.

To remove the device driver as a cause as possible, I tried to boot from a boot Unbuntu CD: no chance.

I activated the home screen on the VGA port in BIOS: screen stays black.

I suspect that the VGA on my new Lenovo Thinkpad T420 port just does not at all.

I opened a call with my material support.

  • Screen with VGA adapter resolution problem

When I connect the MacBook Air 13 (2016 10.11.3 running) to an external monitor via DVI, everything works well: automatically selects the optimal resolution for the external monitor, plus I have other choices of resolution, and everything is good. But when I connect via VGA, I can choose resolution 800 x 600, which is not only not optimal: it's awful.

I get this same problem with 2 different VGA adapters and 2 different monitors, a 16:9 and the other 4:3. (16:9 screen spans 800 x 600, so it looks even worse.)

This problem does not occur on MacBook Pro 13 (2011 also runs 10.11.3): VGA and DVI work very well, with selected automatically optimal resolutions, plus I have other choices of resolution.

No idea how to fix this on the MacBook Air? Or is MacBook Air paralyzed by nature in this way?

    Thank you.

Finally called Apple Support. Has worked with junior counsel, trying all kinds of things that did not work. After an hour of this, he handed me a Counsellor, who took me to the preference of views and had me select the "chipped" resolution key to with hold option key. It gave me a wide range of resolutions that had not been previously available, including the resolution that has ended up working real well. Phew!

    Hello

I have a problem with my VGA port and would be very happy if someone could help me.

It used to work when fine connected projectors for teaching, but recently, I have a lot of problems. Initially, the projector is recognized and seems to work fine, but then the connection goes between active and disabled, so the image constantly disappears. At some point the laptop restarts. The is happening on several projectors with several cables.

I don't think that it's a hardware problem, and I think that has happened since the threshold of 10 last update Windows or windows update automatically to update the video drivers in January.

Does anyone have any ideas? Which video drivers you have installed the Windows 10 and how to prevent it update without telling me.
