  I have a (2342-CTO) T430 with an i7 processor - 3520M I bought in early 2013, and I loaded Virtualbox with a device. When I ran the device, it gave me an error something to the effect that virtualization is not available on my machine.

  Afterwards, I went into the BIOS and found the settings for the dynamics of frequency and hyperthreading for the CPU, but I saw no entry for virtualization - any recommendations on where to find or how to activate this feature?

  Take a look under the Security tab in the BIOS. "Virtualization Intel (R) technology" is currently enabled or disabled?

  The T430 card reader supports SDXC, you can even use an SD card with a size of 2 TB (these cards are not available yet).

  You can buy a Bluetooth dongle like this for as little as $2. It connects a USB port and it slightly exceeds the case, but it is much more easy/less expensive than to make someone to put a BT card inside your system.

  I'm new to the forum and have only recently bought my Lenovo Thinkpad T430. I'm looking to add an internal SSD flash drive and move the HARD drive in the ultrabay port sitting factory. I just want to confirm with you kind people that I bought will indeed get the job done.

  Welcome to the forum.

  Yes this SSD and Ultrabay adapter will work fine.

  A few comments.

  1. while 64 GB is enough for the BONE and some apps it is somewhat tight IMO. SSD prices are falling. Consider a 120 GB or 240 GB. This way you can run the T430 without the HARD drive in the Ultrabay slot if necessary. What to do when I travel so that it has no moving for parts damaged by accidental impact.

  2. Another option to consider is an mSATA SSD to go in making WWAN. This will keep the existing HDD where it is and let the Ultrabay available for the DVD or even another SSD/HDD.

  Yes it has been eliminated in most of the countries.

  The better T430s in many ways, the only difference is the style of keyboard/layout.

  In addition, with the T430s, you can drive 3 monitors and with the i7 model comes with thunderbolt port.

  I get alerts of virus when I want to download the latest bios T430 (2.50) on the Lenovo site. Tried it yesterday and today, but my Avast it keeps blocking for a serious threat. I also noticed that the latest version of the Bios is software not available from Lenovo update and drivers but is available on the Web site.

• New T430 with Toshiba THNSNF128GCSS SSD loses Win8.1 OS after one day of use!

  Hi has anyone encountered the following problem:

  Brand new T430 is imaged with Win 8.1 via SCCM 2012, everything works fine for a day, you can happily install apps, copy the data and reboot etc..

  Then without warning after a restart or start from scratch, the laptop cannot see all of the data on the hard drive and try to perform a PXE boot.

  Test installation disk in another PC (SATA cable connect directly as 2nd drive), or USB hard drive caddy and it of like it's a new disc, ask just to initialize the disk, then doing so allows you to format the drive and everything looks ok, but not data available.

  BitLocker is also used as part of construction for SCCM deployment, Bitlocker ends without problem. We tried to ride one of the task force hard readers who lost no data/operating system on another PC and you see, obvious to use the Bitlocker key entry to allow access to the data but no problem.

  9 portable computers T430, we received recently, all the same configuration, 4 have failed so far.

  Readers spend the fine diags, we initially got the first 2 discs replaced by Lenovo and have not seen a problem since then, but its only been a few days, the last 2 who has lost all the data, we have tried to re-imaging today and both are setup with Windows 8.1 new and no error logged in the event viewer etc.

  Its very strange and hope that it's not just us having this problem?

  Yes, it was a defective batch of about 20 x SSD hard drives, very poor by Lenovo and Toshiba!

• NVIDIA graphics card does not work on T430S with Windows 8

  My T430S laptop running Windows 8 and has a NVIDIA graphics card. Somehow, I could never get into the control panel NVIDIA and received the error message below. I checked the setting in the BIOS and it seems that NIVDIA Optimus mode is not available on Windows 8. I've updated the latest driver published in February 2013 for Lenovo, but it does not solve the problem. I was wondering how I could use the NVIDIA card on my compueter.

  Also there is a BIOS update available for your machine that came out at the same time as the pilot of the Optimus. Which can be found here and can help your problem.

• 2008R2 SP1 install not cross in first boot on T430 Lifecycle controller

  I am currently performing a manual installation of Windows Server 2008R2 on a weeks T430 SP1 using the lifecycle controller. The LC is up-to-date. The T430 has a PERC H730P with 3 x 2 TB disks. The installation media was made by iso burning for 2008R2SP1 engraved on DVD. Everything seems normal until the stage where the installer of the OS has partitions available for selection as the install target.  I can format a partition, but does not specify the size. When the first partition is selected the automated several step appears for about 1/2 hour:

  The previous screen has no interaction. It ends by "reboot in 10 seconds, but no other instructions such as the abolition of the DVD." After Auto it, I briefly see the "press any key to boot from CD or DVD."  If I touch the OS install restarts from zero. Letting go led to "no system operating currently installed on this computer."

  Once you install the operating system... then it will restart after that not need to press any key on the cd If you press again on it ask for installation pls so leave it.

• Bluetooth network is not available

  Been trying for a while to use AirDrop on my MacBook Pro (Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.6) and my iPhone 6 s more.

  Just realized today that it might not work because the Bluetooth on the Pro does not work. With each device I try a pairing, it says that the network is not available and that I need to make sure that network access is enabled. Trying to do this, system preferences > network > Bluetooth PAN, I get the same message. I need you to ensure that network access is enabled.

  Someone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

  Open system preferences > Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled.
