T430s quality Versus a construction T400

I am considering moving to a T430s of a T400. I was very pleased with the durability and quality of my T400 of construction and would like to know how it compares to a T430s. How to compare the T430s in terms of generation of a T400? I realize it doesn't have the magnesium cover roll cage, but rather the new lid roll cage CFRP, etc.. I'm not a gamer and would only use this laptop for typical professional use and web development and design. I can't see one in person. Thank you.

Quality wise, the T430s is a step up from the old and the T400s T410s. It is not as strong as the T400/T61 chassis, to withstand the rigor of daily use.

The only thing you need to get use to is the screen (that needs calibration) and the new keyboard.

But the T430s can run quite hot if pushed, so if you play CPU/GPU intensive games, then it will heat.

My T430s with Intel graphics card can be obtained at approximately 95 ° C when the CPU and the GPU is stressed.

  • Toshiba UK address?

    Hello

I am looking for the address and the name of a person of very high Toshiba in the United Kingdom. I have a laptop which to be honest is a terrible build quality.

Already sent an e-mail but would like to send a letter too!

If anyone has the address can you please let me know.

    Here's the email I sent.

    Hello

I am writing because I am dissatisfied with the quality of the construction of my Toshiba Satellite L350. I bought the laptop to the Comet, 18 months ago. 7 months ago the socket broke away and he was to be sent (luckily it was in warranty) since then, the bezel around the screen was cracked, the charger went pop and does not work, and the worst bit of all is that the TWO hinges that attach the screen to the laptop put out. The plastic that the hinges are screwed to a exhume simply packaged. I had to glue the rear hinges on the screen. The laptop is not at all guarantee more, otherwise I would have sent it to fix.

I think it is terrible that a laptop that is only 18 months old has this kind of problems. I have not abused the computer laptop, used only a few times a week to browse and snap the screen off hinges. I'm not at all happy about it, and the quality of the construction of this laptop is the worst I've ever seen. I have not buy another Toshiba anytime soon, unless the quality of construction increases.

As I have already stated, I am very annoyed because a laptop £499 should last longer than 18 months. Please answer the questions below.

The hinges on and the laptop of 18 months must align offshore?
The socket would come loose off the coast of the motherboard, which I have to send the laptop to the Germany and don't use for 3 weeks?
Should the bezel around the screen crack and there on my laptop 18 months to break?
Must the work of pop and stop charger?
Should I have to tape the bezel around the screen to keep the laptop duck together?

Hope you can answer some of these questions for me. If the laptop was 3-4 years, I could understand, but not at the age of 18 months!

    Hey Buddy,

I put t know address of Toshiba in the United Kingdom, but I guess that they won't answer you because you need to contact a service provider authorized in your country. ASP is the first point of contact for any problems and after the warranty.

I understand that you think you are bored, but on the other side if you have purchased an extended warranty, all problems could be fixed for free. In addition you can get a free warranty extension, if you register your laptop on the official website of Toshiba.

In any case, now it s too late for that and you should contact an ASP in your country.
In my view of 1.5 years is a good life if you need laptop every day. A friend of me using this laptop also every day for 8-10 hours (work and home) and it doesn t look again more.

Finally and above all I'm sure that everything can be clarified with the technicians. :)

  • NB550D: speakers do not seem to be attached to the chassis

I just got one of these today and I am impressed overall so far, with the exception of a single thig. Stakeholders do not seem to be anchored on the chassis. If I press the palmrest on each side, they collide (machine completely off). Or even strong typing are the speakers rattle away. A gentle shake of the case, open or closed will cause a rattle. Is this normal? Everything I read praised the quality of the construction of this machine, but it seems just cheap feeling. Any other observations of the owners would be appreciated. IM posting here because the thread must therefore, with speaker problems.

    Thank you very much!

    Hey Buddy,

To me that sounds like a HARD drive problem too, it seems that the HARD drive makes mechanical noises.

But even that would be the speakers that you need professional help from an authorized service provider to swap parts. Guys can make an accurate diagnosis and to exchange the part. This is covered by the warranty, so it will cost you nothing.

  • heat Pavillion m6 problem

I recently got this laptop and when I light on the laptop from the left side navigation where are my Palms gets hot enough. I wanted to know if this is normal or if it's just my phone, I thought that most of the laptops try to keep this part also just so fresh as possible I wanted to see if I just get a new m6.

I have the 1045dx of m6 and present the same problem.  The left palm rest gets a lot hotter as I wait, especially considering that I have "HP Coolsense" on.  I know by looking at the service manual the graphics pricessor is located in this area, and I suspect that it is the source of heat. I already have one of these in returned because the telescope was assembled incorrectly and was pressing the screen when I push on the lid, leading to the ripple in the lower corners.  I used this one for a week or two before I Exchange it there and never noticed this problem of heat with it.  Maybe that I was just distracted by default and was not paying attention to the temperature... I do not know.  I know that this machine also has the construction problems. Sewing around the edge before where the metal meets the side plastic has a significant gap on one side and the plasitc edge tilts on somewhat between the screws at the front and two corners do not fit properly. Overall, the quality of external construction of this machine has me concerned about the internal assembilies.  I would not be surprised if they do not have a thermal pad or fat on the radiator of the graphics processor.  I really think that HP should hire a better class of sweat shop for the manufacture of machines here!  A couple of years, I went through 3 models of DM4 before I found one that had no obvious defects.  I love the drawings of HP, but their quality control, especially with one of their models metal STINKS!  I'll probably take this one to get a refund back this time and buy something else.  I guess I give up on HP.

  • DVD plays in the drop in quality after construction to dvd out yet?

    Hi all

I turn in HD DSLR video, change in first Pro CS6, link dynamic CS6 still where I build my menu dvd ect. and export/generation of DVD. But when play the DVD on a DVD quality seems smoking lower than the film original but also softer, almost as if a blur has been applied. When the object or the person in the video makes quick moments seem motion blurr so even when I shoot at faster shutter speeds.

I know I can get much better quality of output but can't seem to do.

    Help, please!

Ignore links dynamic and export from first to mpeg2-dvd with a preset.

You can change the baud rate upward.

Use Max rendering quality, no preview and no frameblending.

Time of export will be huge.

Import both files into the still, you know the rest.

  • How to make a simple slideshow DVD of a group of .jpg images?  No music, no fancy transition. iDVD > magic DVD comes close, but the quality is poor and I want the images in a specific order.  I also have iLIFE ' 09, which includes iPHOTO

How to make a simple slideshow DVD of a group of .jpg images?  No music, no fancy transition. iDVD > magic DVD comes close, but the quality is poor and I want the images in a specific order.  I also have iLIFE ' 09, which includes iPHOTO

    1. put the image files you want in the slide show in an album and genre as you want. Follow the Apple document to prepare images for iDVD: iDVD ' 09 (7.x): preparing images for iDVD slideshows

2 - Launch iDVD and select an older theme, not animated.  You can change the background of the theme by dragging the image file of your choice, black or other, in the display pane for the menu.

3 - Click on the button '+' and add a slideshow from the menu.

    4. double click on the sideshow button to enter the mode of construction of the slide show.

    5. in the media pane click the Photos button.

6 - click on iPhoto and find the album you created with selected images.

    7. Select all images in the album and drag to the left in the slide show window.

8 - Select the transition for the slideshow and the time for each slide on screen

9 - follow this workflow to help ensure the best DVD video qualty:

Once the project you want it save it as an image disk via the menu file → save as Disk Image . It will separate from the process of encoding of the burning process.

To check coding mount the disk image, launch a DVD player and read it.  If it plays OK with DVD, encoding is good.

Burn burn to disc with utility disk or toasts to the slowest speed (2 x - 4 x) in order to ensure the best quality.  Always use higher quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are recommended in these forums.

  • Satellite NB10T-A-102 - horrible sound quality

    Hello

I bought a NB10T-A-102, but the sound is horrible almost not not tuned because that sounds like metal noise.
I tried to change driver but without advantage.
Do you know if it's because of the speakers of material or if there is a configuration that allows to obtain a good sound quality?

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello

This netbook has construction in small stereo speakers, and the sound is not very good. It has nothing to do with the audio driver. As you know you can try to change the sound quality by changing the values in the player s equalizer, but this will not help too much.

I have some similar speakers on my U940, and the good is not good. With the help of his headset is really good.
For example my old NB netbook has harman/kardon speakers and the sound quality is just amazing.

  • Photosmart 7520 will not print on color construction paper.

My Photosmart 7520 print text on color construction paper.  It feeds through the status bar, but does not print.

    Hey @JanMO,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

If you have a 7520 Photosmart all-in-one that doesn't seem to not want to print on color construction paper? Because the product is to feed the paper in the paper tray but isn't actually put ink on the page is does not seem to be a problem with the book itself and not filling not the management of specifications that your printer takes in charge for a type of paper.

According to the specifications of 7520 Photosmart it can handle:

    • Types of media supported: Paper (brochure, inkjet, ordinary), photo paper, envelopes, labels, cards (greeting), transparent
    • Supported media formats: Letter, legal, 4 x 6, 5 x 7 in., 8 x 10, no. 10 envelopes
    • Recommended weight: 16-80 lbs.

    Plug Photosmart e-all-in-one printer 7520

You know the exact weight of the construction paper?

Your printer will print on other media, such as plain white paper or photo paper glossy with no problems?

You could try to browse the next document in troubleshooting print quality, but please note that if your paper is not listed in the support media types, sizes or requirements of weight that you can do more harm to your printer.

The problems of print quality for the e-all-in-one printer series HP Photosmart 7520

Please let me know what you find on your construction paper specifications and if none of these steps helped to solve your problem. Good luck!

I think this should help you. Basically, you need a new motherboard. If you have Lenovo machine, ask for a new machine of replacement due to the DOA. If you have it in a store, then go and get a new replacement.

  • T430 upgrades

I was thinking of buying a new ram and ssd to replace supplied with T430S.

I was wondering if the following two items are the right size and compatible with the T430S:

    RAM: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CRSM4I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    SSD: http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-Inch-Solid-State-CT128M4SSD2/dp/B004W2JKZI/ref=lh_ni_t

could or if someone else has improved both in their T430s, you let me know which device you bought?

    Thank you very much!

RAM: which looks right. Samsung is a quality product, too. I have a 16 gb (2x8gb) essential kit in my X 220. obtained from Newegg.

mSATA SSD: I have the 256 GB in my X 220 model, purchased directly from Crucial. Remember that, while the SSD is SATAIII, mPCIe slot is SATAII, so the SSD will operate at the slower speed. in real use you may well not be able to make a difference, however, especially if you are from a flat disc.

    HTH.

  • T430 warranty issue

If I replace the LCD screen in my T430, it will void the warranty for my laptop? As in, the warranty for all components of the computer or just the screen?

T420 and T430 screens are the same. If you have a problem with motherboard or disk or memory, nobody's going to disassemble the cover just to see if you have replaced the screen, as long as you use not a display of poor quality as those reported as compatible on eBay. Many of those who are really brilliant, poor quality screens which have defects or dead pixels so that they wouldn't have Lenovo quality standards.

  • T430s battery problems

So, my previous thread (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T430S-Microsoft-ACPI-Compliant-Control-Meth... got no response. I want to be updated, however, as I'm positive, I can't be the only person who always ran to this.

Situation: my T430s keeps giving me a safe to delete the 'Compatible Microsoft ACPI Control method battery' message (safe to remove the battery) despite my no Files this behavior knowingly. In addition, strangely / in this connection, my Lenovo Power Manager shows a second battery being connected - there is only one. The battery is showing that "second battery: Condition ' mistake".

Real battery is charged / wedges cool / works normally. Computer always gives me this error when it is connected to current alternative without battery in the system.

I'm running two software programs that manage / handle power: magician of Samsung (for my Samsung SSD) and Lenovo Power Manager.

I am convinced that this false message 'second battery' is the key to the problem. I have contacted Lenovo support and I'm under warranty and they sent me some recovery disks (should be here soon) to try and isolate the potential problem of the software, but I think that it is hardware, because I've been running this setup since I got my laptop with zero problems. If the software reset does not solve (reset), then they will send a technician to replace the motherboard. Messages appear to be related to the movement of the computer and parts... but I'm just confused.

Does anyone else have this problem before? Would love to insight.

    Installation program:

    1 years, T430s Intel Core i5

840 Samsung 256 GB SSD pro series

    Stock HDD from lenovo (canned)

Memory 1 DIMM 8 gb Crucial Ballistix

    Standard Wh 33,57 lenovo battery

So. Here is why none of this made sense: the problem is that one of the screws of the casing was released into the ultrabay slot and touched the power between the cart and the mobo connector. In addition, some Ribbon was on it (?). Incredible. I'm sorry for my stupid question.

Which explains all the problems of sensitivity or prosecuted strange problems/utlrabay with the DVD - RW.

    Attached photo for reference.

"The files are IN the computer".

    Thanks for your help.

  • T400: BSOD with Intel GMA 4500MHD

    Hello

I own a Lenovo T400 (2767-B44). I am using Windows XP SP3, with the latest drivers on the Lenovo support for this model site

Recently I tried to use an external display connected to the laptop's VGA connector. It works very well, we can discuss on the quality of the signal. I was using a GPU Intel GMA 4500MHD.

When I disconnected the monitor windows (without changing the video output for portable TFT only) crashed in a BSOD about two seconds later. I figured that the Intel driver doesn't if I unplug the screen while it is still in use. So I restarted and tried to pass to the output video to portable TFT only before disconnecting. I do not have the option to disconnect the screen, Windows crashed with a BSOD again about two seconds after I changed the video output settings.

Intel drivers updated to the latest version available on intel.com doesn't change anything.

Using the ATI GPU, it works very well.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance.

BTW, are there news about problems with DVI on the T400 port? I'm using linux and I really want to use the DVI port on the Mini with the Intel GPU platform. Intel x.org driver runs a lot smoother than ATI fglrx.

It turns out that the MS patch has solved the problem.
