  Hi, I recently got a T430 renovated and well, I just love and want to invest in an upgrade to 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM

  I read the specs here but other than:

  • High, 320 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA 3.0 GB/s 7mm
  • 500 GB, 7200 RPM, 7mm or 9.5 mm high SATA 3.0 GB/s
  • 1 TB, 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm high SATA 3.0 GB/s

  It is really not a lot to spend when buying a new hard drive. (totall rookie at this, so please be nice)

  Are all HDDs OTC market you today my machine? I have read discussions on the Bay in my entirely appropriate machine HDs 7 mm and 9.5 is a stretch and could adversely affect the connection to the motherboard. You can link me to a schematic page? I am looking for part numbers, which would help.

  Here are some HDs I consider, how do I know if they will fit ok? Comments are appreciated. I can watch videos on gootube how swap, this part is easy.

  Currently dual boot win 7 pro and ubuntu 14.04 and I've pretty much mukked to the top of the 320 hd with partitions before I knew any better. Nothing on the drive is special, I might as well do a clean install or restore backups. Which do you recommend?

  I would replace the hd in 9.5 mm slot?

  PS, none of the disks hybrid work in the T430?

  Preinstall Windows 7-> Recovery media creadted-> upgraded to Windows 8-> Windows.old folder have been deleted-> trying to downgrade to Windows 7 using Recovery-> failed to retrieve media!

  Are there other ways that I could go back to Windows 7? All I have is the engraved on DVD recovery media.

  As you mention that you created the recovery media and it fails to restore your system with Win7 preload delivered, I would recommend that you contact the Service, let them know that your created set failed to work and ask that they provide you with a set of factory recovery DVDs. The details are below.

  I put two sticks of 8 GB in my DDR3 T430s. is now very expensive. I paid one more a few months, but I've seen 2x8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 for as little as $50 last week.

  I agree that 16 GB may seem exaggerated, I think it will be long term option best and lowest cost. I now maximum RAM I can put in my T430s I have benefit from this extra RAM being able to minimize, or even completely disable paging. This makes my system run faster.

  If I put in less RAM now, for example a single stick 4 GB or 8 GB, and then when I need to be upgraded in the future I'd RAM more of rest have of and DDR3 price would be probably much higher than today. (Consult prices of previous generation DDR2 today.) "I expect that the same thing will happen to DDR3 after DDR4 comes out.)

  Based on the technical specifications on the page of Corsair you linked I don't see why their RAM will not work. In any case they claim to 'Guarantee to work on Intel and AMD platforms' so, if for some reason it doesn't work then you should be able to get a refund.

  FWIW, I bought the cheaper RAM I could find to upgrade my T430s 16 GB. I'm done with the Geil brand. I had never heard before but decided to play. It works very well.

  I currently have a computer 14 "laptop T430s with a hard drive. I plan to upgrade to an SSD. My question is, in any 2.5 "SSD will be compatible with my laptop? Currently, I am planning to buy Samsung 840 EVO. I'm not sure if it is compatible (in terms of size and software) with my laptop. Thank you!

  Edit: Don't think the link works (but you can google it). The dimensions of the SSD are 6.8 mm (height), 69,85 mm (width) and 100.08 mm (depth).

  The T430s will accommodate any 2.5 "wide of disk SATA thick 7mm, SSD or HARD drive, with a capacity of storage. The most common 9.5 mm discs are too thick to fit properly into the drive Bay and the rarest 12.7 mm thick fits any.

  The T430s will be responsible for all speeds SATA SATA-III (6 Gb/s) Slower readers will still work but will not as fast. Fortunately, all current model drives are SATA-III it's probably not a problem.

  Here is this that Crucial has to say on this issue: 1.35v - 1.5V DDR3 memory dual voltage.

  My advice is the same as Crucial. Buy the same nominal voltage as the 4 GB module, you have now.

  It is certainly "technically" possible. You replace the Panel and cable. This is not a replaceable part by the customer, then you can affect the warranty status. Fuse backlight on this model is VERY easy to blow, so make sure that the battery is removed, and you are grounded. Also, I suggest to unplug the cable from the motherboard before working behind the Panel. It would be bad to blow your motherboard.
