T460 support 1 TB ssd?

Hello

I ordered my laptop T460 today and going to exchange the SSHD with an 850 EVO preference for one SSD Samsung 1 TB one, but I wonder if the T460 supports this sum of capacity.

I have a T460p in which I installed a Samsung 850 Pro 2 TB. I'm quite sure that a 1 TB drive will work properly in a T460.

    You are the very welcome.

SATA II is a 'bonus' on SATA - in particular with regard to an SSD.

Yes, your drive SSD SATA III will work very well with the SATA II controller, but you may have been able to save a little money if you can get a SATA II SSD - and I only say that because there is no advantage in having a SATA III SSD in your laptop on a SATA II one.

However, one day you can transfer your drive controller supports SATA III SSD SATA III on a PC.

  • ENVY 15 t-K000 CTO: ENVY 15 t-K000 CTO support M.2 ssd?

My laptop is ENVY 15 t-K000 CTO, model number is G0T55AV, the material information is as follows:

    • CPU i7-4710HQ
    • 16GB memory
    • HARD DRIVE 1 TB

I want to add an ssd for my laptop, I wonder if my laptop supports m2 type SSD, and, if the answer is Yes, what the maximum length of M.2 ssd supports? If I add a SSD M.2 and keep the 1 TB HARD drive, is possible to leave the SSD to be the first boot device?

    The service manual says:

    Storage SATA m2 (Port0)

    The manual

The manual shows not yet how to get in MSSD and I can't believe that this means that you need to remove the motherboard. I think you can see M.2 on page 79 near the RAM slots.

256 GB MLC (not shown) 766593-001 mSATA SSD drive

It's the only picture I could find the part:

This is a package of 42mm. In your model, there would be the possibility to start from the WSSD m2.

  • My Satellite L850-18 t will support the new SSD?

    Hello

I am seriously thinking to buy the new SSD which is SATA III. Currently, I have Toshiba Satellite L850-18 t, European model. And I think that (although that is quite difficult to get information) that the current HARD disk is SATA I.

My question is, will the new SSD work correctly, it will take all the benefits (write and read speed) if I install it on the laptop? And if not, what SATA SSD do you recommend?

I really need to empty it.

    Best regards
    Luka

Yes, your Toshiba laptop support SSD. I have older machines, and there is no problem with SSDS.
This is not complicated, you think it is.
Check prices and buy one that suits.

I can recommend brands like Toshiba, Samsung or Kingston. More info on SSD Toshiba you can find on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

A friend of mine uses Samsung 840 Series SSD of base and it works perfectly. The new SSD, you can install original recovery image and start using your machine with factory again.

  • support dv6t-1200 ssd sata III

I have a CTO dv6t 1200, and I would like to replace the hard drive with a disc SSD 830 TeamViewer.  The dv6 shows a motherboard Quanta 3627 18.42 and I would like to know if it supports SATA III my S/N is CNF9407X3H part number fv161av.  I am running Windows 7. My understanding is that SATA III will perform much better than the SATA II and because the SSD is $ 300, if I can't get the performance I would consider a laptop set to level.

I bought and installed the 256 GB samsung 830 drive and it works fine. I still don't know if I get SATA II or SATA III speeds but is much faster, so it is what it is.

  • Support of PCIe SSD?

Did someone tried to get one of the OCZ revodrive SSD PCIe devices working on ESXi 4.1 technology?  (e.g. ( http://www.Newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ene & DEPA = 0 & Order = BESTMATCH & Description = RevoDrive & x = 0 & y = 0) I've seen other people expressing similar feelings through google searches, but have never seen someone say they have tried and use successfully.

I know it does not exist in the HAL, but I wonder if someone took a chance and gave it a shot.  I WOULD put one of them in my server to host my VMs who demand the best performance or FreeNAS allows to use this disk as a cache of read/write on a spinning media ZFS volume.

Similarly, no one knows if it's on the roadmap to be supported in a future version updated?

    For search engines:

    I'll be that person:

It does not in 4.1. You can operate it via some unsupported hacking and a driver in the Linux kernel does not support loading. Remember that this is really a software RAID, so you will end up with several small readers appearing in ESXi, rather than a single large disk, fast. I also had a problem with one of him disappearing from readers (probably a hardware failure, but it's still something to know for the record).

  • Want to 15 t k000 CTO (Energy Star): HP Envy 15t k000 CTO support m2280 ngff SSD?

I just bought a laptop K000 CTO Envy 15 t and want to ADD an SSD as drive system. At the same time, I want to keep the original HARD disk in its place as a storage for photos and videos. I found a manual on hp.com and K000 model told a m2280 slot.

So I wonder if I could buy a m2280 SSD and install the operating system in it while keeping the HARD drive and the optical drive.

Well I just disassembled the system board and peeked inside. Now, I can confirm that the Envy 15 t k000 CTO model does not have a SSD m2280 slot although the manual says it have. In fact, there is space for the slot behind the motherboard and the size should be m2280. But the fact is that there is no such accommodation. Too bad.

If you want to add an SSD to the laptop, you will need to replace by a SATA III SSD HARD drive.  The HARD drive can replace the optical drive, if you want to keep the HARD disk as the storage.

  • VN7 591 G SSD support

    Hello
the local version of VN7 591 G (i7-4720HQ) comes with 60 GB SSD + HDD 1 TB storage

while I intend to upgrade the SSD when I get this laptop soon,

would like to know if this laptop supports 500 / 512GB SSD?

Sometimes reading an interesting article online saying any brand/model does not support something after 256GB

I tried to contact my dealer or Acer, but I'm tired to hear the responses of model that does not address the issue, while the operator kept saying "I know what you mean", but no.

Or n - that someone is currently using this laptop with a 500 m2 / 512GB SSD installed?

(Else my store, I just need to pay about 70% more to get double (500 instead of 250 GB) space of the SSD Samxxxg EVO m2)

Thank you very much for your time!

Yes to the 500 and the 512 GB. You can also put an ssd instead of the 1 TB hard drive.

  • The PCle SSD for Latitude E5570 support

I want to install a new SSD PCle in a Latitude E5570, but I need the support that goes on the card and secures it from popping out.

Anyone know what the specs are for support, the part No. may be or where I can get it?

    Thank you!

They will not fit at the same time.  Support for the SSD 2.5 does not respond when the M2's in there, so don't bother trying. You must decide which you want and maybe use an external network, external storage drive or Dropbox, etc. for more storage.

  • Is it necessary that the guest OS to support SSD if the file of the virtual machine is placed on an SSD?

    Dear,

I have a plan to set up a file of the virtual machine on an SSD. The host system is windows 10 (on an other SSD, I'll use 2 SSD), it should support the SSD very well.  Then comes the question: should I also install an OS that needs support also guest SSD?

My opinion is it does not matter since the disk i/o operation is made by host operating system, it is the host operating system which finally determin whick block data will be published (optimization of the disk).

    Am I wrong? Thank you.

    Sorry for the enigmatic answer...

In your case, the answer is Yes: he cares about the type of media, while the virtual disk is a vmdk (virtual material treaty) and placed in an SSD.

There are a few cases where you might use a physical disk directly to the virtual machine (called peripheral raw disk or RDM in vSphere environment).

I need to replace my hard drive in my MacBook Pro mid-2012. A PNY CS1311 will be a good choice?

I just did an upgrade to SSD on my MBP mid-2012 13 inches.

    I used a Samsung Evo 850-series SSD (500 GB).

However, you can also use a less expensive but all too good

    Trion OCZ SSD 150-series.

Don't forget to enable support for these SSD trim

Open 'terminal app' and type 'sudo trimforce activate', select YES, YES... .and restart start when finished.

Or you could buy an OWC SSD more expensive which crops not need support.

If good recommendation is to use at least 240 GB. partitions for each operating system that you plan to use.

If you plan use boot camp with OS - X and MS-Windows-10 then buy a 480 GB or larger SSD.
