T5 - totally Dead - need to recover data

The last time that I could use my T5, the screen slowly erased by showing vertical lines until it is completely unreadable. Now he is dead and won't power-up. I saved the T5 on my PC when I saw that it became unusable. However, unbeknownst to me, my office of SplashID was missing and so when I supported this last time, it includes all the data of SplashID... So I would like the power once more for SplashID data go to the PC. Must I send in Palm so that they can recover the data? Any ideas?

Well, I never recommend a Cust this. The process of replacing a battery on a sealed unit is very delicate and often involves unsoldering connections. Doing this wrong can kill the unit completely. Unless you are skilled in this field and are ready to deal with a repairable device, it is better to send it in for repair. Once again, not to mention that Palm other sellers offer repair services.

    Hello

In my opinion, there are two solutions. Is, try to get the facilities WXP CD and see if you can fix it using the option to repair Windows XP Home edition or use supplied recovery media and do a clean install of the operating system. After doing this you will put factory once again and everything will be OK again.

  • Can I Exchange an old HD XP to my new HD running Win 7? I need to recover data

    Hello

I have an old m10560y of HP Media Center PC with a PJ751AV 160 G hard drive SATA 7200 RPM, which I removed because the motherboard is damaged. I was running Win XP on this machine. I only need to retrieve data on this drive... not going to use it with the new HD (below)

I currently have an HP Pavilion Elite e9150t by the following:

    Windows 7

    10G RAM

    AVO47AV 750 G 7200 RPM SATA 3G 8 / S HD

    Model #: e9150t
    Product #: NY810AV-ABA
    Software Build #: 93NAv6PcA5
    Service ID #: 110-811
    PCBRAND: Pavilion

I want to disconnect the existing 750 G HD (Win 7), plug the HD 160 G (Win XP), retreve data on an external hard drive and then plug the HD 750 G and be on my merry way.

    Can I do this?

Will there be a problem running the old HD 160 G because it works under XP or it will be plug and play?

If connected to a USB port, so no, the computer should detect Windows on the internal disk and boot off that. Not all models have motherboards that can even allow the boot off the USB connections. You should be fine. Even if it does not, simply unplug the USB cable before entering Windows and then plug it to the top.

  • Instant orphaned files - need to recover data on the basic disk

    Hello

I'm sure this has been asked several times before, but how merge content from an instant orphan to the basic disk?

Reading over there seem to be several different methods to do so.

I have a virtual machine with three RDM, the virtual machine is running at the wide base VMDK disks but there is a single snapshot file associated with each base VMDK, snapshots do not appear in the Snapshot Manager.

I tried to change the snapshot. The VMDK files and change the parent CIDs for the basic disk, but still not instant show in the Snapshot Manager.

Is the best way to stop the virtual machine, remove the inventory and then add it to the inventory, I don't see the shots if the parent CID is correct?

    What is a better method?

    2. turn off then turn off the virtual machine (if it is not already off). Stop the current virtual machine with any Active snapshots.

    3. once the virtual machine is completely turned off, create a unique snapshot of the virtual machine and do not feed upward after this step.

4 browse your data store for the virtual machine and look for the numbers you hard files. Instant latest should only be a few megabytes, and you want one that is just before that.

    5. go to the command line console and edit the .vmx for your virtual machine in the container for data store. Looking for a similar article to the following for each of your virtual disks.

    scsi0:0.present = "true"
    scsi0:0.fileName = "???-00002.vmdk"
    scsi0:0.deviceType = "scsi-hardDisk"

You want to change the "scsi0:0.fileName =" section under the same file name that you found in step 4. You will need to repeat this in the file for each virtual disk on your VM.
Save the .vmx file, overwriting the original.

    6. now, it will be a long process, if the hard files are large (more than 20 concerts) and can last several hours. During this process, you may lose connectivity to your ESX Server on the client of the infrastructure. What you need to do is run the below command from within the container to store the virtual machine data.

    vmware-cmd <your .vmx file> removesnapshots

    7. once the previous step is complete, check your VM settings in client infrastructure and check that your virtual disks are now pointing to the original hard file (does not contain de-00001 etc.). If everything was successful, you should be able to power to the top of your VM.

    8. once the virtual machine is running and check the operation, you can remove the last numbered - 0000x.vmdk that was created from your snapshot in the third stage (should only be a few megabytes). This file must have been ignored by the instant withdrawal because you have changed the .vmx file.

Question I have is if the basic disk has been changed today I lose all changes today when merging the snapshots (which have not been written to since 18:00 yesterday)- or will be the basic disk back to 18:00 yesterday and lose all changes today?

If you need to extract data from instant orphans, you know that you can NOT do without altering the current state
new files from today will still be there - but they are not referenced in the MFT and other pieces are replaced by old data of the orphan snapshot
If you must do this with a backup...

or - possibly use a snashot of the RDM, as it is now...

in any case – which gives good advice is almost impossible without sitting in front of the case

However, I need to retrieve these values as well as for database operations that must be performed on the update. Any help would be appreciated

Add any value you want using the apex_item.hidden function. It will not be returned but will be available in the form with the corresponding editable/visible ones.

  • HARD drive is not detected in BIOS - need to recover data.

What happened is that my laptolaptop takes a long time to start, so I slapped him. After that I kept getting the error message "no boot device, please restart". So whenever I restarted I kept getting this message. I also sometimes had "Media Fail" message. I pressed F2 at startup to get into the Bios. Settings so check I saw that hard disk still showed it's a Hitachi one.

My hard drive was clicking to it so I searched online advice on what to do and I saw on the opening of the hard drive in a clean environment, ensuring that no dust went on the drive. I expect the head being stuck on disc, but it was not stuck. So basically, I put the lid on. Since then, the hard drive was not detected.

Not in the Bios (he said no). I bought a CD to restart which can temporarily become Windows to the screen under Xp, so I can go to the computer to retrieve data from the hard drive. It shows nothing. There is always a clicking hard drive, more a ticking sound. It is always possible that an expert could remove the hard drive and recover my data that are valuable photos and videos.

    Thank you

What model of laptop do you have?
Try to set the BIOS to default settings and check if the HARD drive is recognized correctly.

  • problems after upgrading firefox. reset this is ugly. created the new profile, but can not recover data from old profile.

I use firefox on a MacBook pro. Mac OS X version 10.7.5. There was an update of firefox on a day or 2 ago. Since this was done, I was getting 'syntax error' 5 times, each time that a page has been loaded. Some research has suggested that an application or a plug-in called "social fixer" might be the problem but I could not understand how to get rid of it so decided to try to reset Firefox. Minutes passed and a message was on the screen saying the old files of firefox have been been "cleaned" or something, but it seems to be 'stuck' because the progress bar was little jerky. Doesn't it usually doesn't. So I clicked on "Cancel". After that, I couldn't even firefox to start. Looks like my profile is unavailable or inaccessible. Following the instructions found on the support site, I created a new profile and I thought I copied the files from the previous firefox on the new profile, but when I run firefox, it's a blank slate. None of my bookmarks or passwords are there. It must be here somewhere, but I can't seem to understand.

Looks like there was a problem with updating the profiles.ini file.

You can try to remove the current profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile where Firefox has not done that.
You can check if there is a profile folder with a number of attached time stamp and in this case, you can set the location of a profile created in this folder.

If you need to recover data from an older profile, always in the default location, or as a folder of old data of Firefox on the desktop then see:

Original title: computer MOM will not start and I need to recover the data on the hard drive.

It's an old computer and I do not know what version of Windows it was running.  I guess I need a bootdisk of exploitation, but where can I download that?  Or would it be easier to pull and make a secondary drive in my computer that I just replaced?  It works under Windows XP.

    Hello

If the old system does not start could be the hard drive. Put the hard drive in another computer as a 2nd drive and then access the files. If you use a computer XP, Vista or Windows 7, you should be able to access the files, unless the drive has failed.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd drive (better) or a USB external drive case and then save up to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives. Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data. (This will not work if the hard disk is defective or other issues preventing the system from booting from the CD/DVD drive.)

I'm running on snow leopard and upgrade to el capitan. If I just update without backup (because I have no external HARD disk) data will generally be safe / normal after all as we updated iOS iPhone via OTA or need to recover the data again whenever we have updated to Mac OS?

  • Satellite P200-1EE Possible to recover data on the HARD drive by placing it in an envelope?

P200-1EE does not start after 2 weeks off is the case during a fan installation. Is it possible to remove the hard drive, put it in an enclosure and retrieve the data it contains on another PC? Or can anyone recommend how to recover data from the comfort of my own home?

    Thanks for your help

I would say that your installation of fan caused this problem in the first place. I would check your installation for loose connectors, cards not seated properly, no fan or heatsinks screws tight etc..

Everything you did everything by installing the new fan plugged the laptop. The hard disk, in my opinion, is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with it.

Put the suspect hard drive in an enclosed and try to access the data on another PC. You will encounter problems with administrator access to certain folders so you will need to find a way to crack in these areas.

If you had problems in the first place you probably should have this return to the place of purchase for them to watch.

I hope that for your sake you have not turned into a frisbee.

    Good luck.

  • Totally dead Satellite L350-203

In short, I recommend greedily Toshiba laptops to all my clients and friends and family.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro myself, very happy with it, all those who have purchased after my recommendations are also happy, except that I recommended to a neighbour.

In April 2009 I sent them a link to buy a Toshiba L350-203. After just 6 months, the mouse pad has failed and had to be repaired. This person uses the laptop occasionally for web browsing in general.

Now, they turn to the top at my door, laptop in hand, totally dead, no power light or anything like that. To rule out that it is a power supply problem, a replacement power has been purchased.
Once again no power whatsoever. Food is certainly get to the plug of the adapter.

I think it's evil because it's just 15 months or two and saw very little use, it also leaves my tips for buying considered a bad recommendation and my reputation is on the line.

Someone suggested the hard drive could have died, perhaps my logic is wrong, but if the HARD drive was dead, but the power supply has confirmed that the work, would'nt the power of the computer laptop, but just fails to start? I know that on a PC, even without a disc hard, it will fuel yet.

I pull on my laptop HARD drive, unfortunately, the connections are the same type, but laid out different. I don't have access to another drive, with that I can test. The power supply seems to be ok, but I did not open the laptop to check physically, it apppears solid.
So shaken a little bit there is no sign of a power indicator. No power light, no light, totally dead unit.

I don't know what to do, as it is now out of warranty as far as I know, it will cost them financially, firstly we'll still look for my advice never & I lose credibility, secondly I doubtfully recommend Toshiba again because of the lack of reliability.

I hope Toshiba will specify this is a rare occurrence and something can be set.
    This would be most appreciated.

    Hi guy.

Indeed, I also recommend the use of Toshiba laptops but such problem of course can always happen it s any laptop manufacturer or model of mobile phone is.
Computer laptop is a machine and machine would dysfunction like other machines do too.
I have two different Toshiba laptops and I never had any problems with the units.
    However

    > Someone suggested the hard drive could have died, perhaps my logic is wrong, but if the HARD drive was dead, but the power supply has confirmed that the work, would'nt the power of the computer laptop, but just fails to start? I know that on a PC, even without a disc hard, it will fuel yet.
I doubt problem s HDD given that the laptop powering not upwards and does not POST (power on self-test) if the HARD drive is faulty, then the laptop would be always able to start, but you get an OS message was not found.

    > I don't know what to do, as it is now out of warranty as far as I know, it will cost them financially, firstly we'll still look for my advice never & I lose credibility, secondly I doubtfully recommend Toshiba again because of the lack of reliability.
The laptop is 15 months old. Generally, the standard notebook warranty laptop duration 12 months. But if the laptop was placed on the page of Toshiba, then the guarantee extend to 24 months.
So if the laptop has been saved in the past, then the warranty should always be available.

Anyway, back to the question, I think that the RAM (memory) should be tested also. If it s RAM DO not matter, then the motherboard could be affected and in this case the motherboard needs to be replaced.
This can be done by a Toshiba ASP.

I recommend so get in touch with the local ASP in order to check the laptop parts!

    Good luck

  • Recovering data from a Time Machine to an external drive backup

How to recover data from a backup Time Machine to an external drive?

I use Time Machine to back up data (photos, videos) on an external drive (drive A) to another external drive (drive/B) separate that I use for Time Machine backups. After performing a backup, the external drive (drive A) appears in TimeMachine and can I recover files that are on the external drive (A) just as I can for the files that are found on the internal hard drive.

I need to know what to do if I drop my external drive (drive A) completely and you want to recover the Time Machine backup on a new replacement drive?  When I disconnect my external drive (A) and enter the Time Machine, I don't find a way to access the files to recover.  Still... I know they are there!

Using the Time Machine application in your Applications folder. Please visit Time Machine FAQ of Pondini for using Time Machine.
