The BIOS is set to allow graphic choices and all four drivers will appear in the display properties window, but it there's no way to choose or activate selectable graphics that I can find. I left click on the battery icon, but there is no selectable graphic element click on. I can't find it in Windows or Lenovo power mgmt tools. What Miss me?

Thank you

    Hello

You are supposed to try it in "Safe Mode with network"; not 'Safe Mode'.

You need a cable connection; no wireless using this method.

Start method 3, etc at this link if top is not solve:

Original title: when I try to run the system repair ffrom the original Vista 32 bit dvd, I get the error "the file i2omp.sys is corrupt" is anyone know the solution for this problem? Thank you, Kelsey.

The message arrives as soon as I select "repair system" can not find the file on the Windows Dvd.

    Hello

    1. why you try to run the system on your computer repair?

    2. when exactly you receive this error message?

If you receive the error message while booting from the Windows Vista DVD it means that the file i2omp.sys is corrupted.

You may need to make arrangements for a Windows Vista disk that corresponds to the same edition, as it is installed on your computer. Later, try to repair the system on your computer.

  • Success Story with get switchable graphics to run on Windows 10 with one to Inspiron 15r / Inspiron 7520

For background, some Dell laptops have a function where they use a low-power intel graphics card when running undemanding applications, but they spend a graphics card with high power, high power (series AMD Radeon) when demanding games is running. With the AMD/Intel version, it's a very fragile Setup and you can not download an older version of the drivers and expect to work. Dell engineers specifically design a version of intell driver installers that is compatible with this configuration.

Pilot automatic/windows updates and changes to the OS can overwrite on this delicate configuration and you are at the mercy of the people of Dell support on when you will get an updated driver. If you use just the vanilla Intel video drivers, they don't respect the will AMD to take the chart control and the AMD video card will sit unused in your laptop.

There are three parts to get Windows to use your preferred hardware driver, remove all installed software that provides drivers. This is done by uninstalling all the software that puts drivers on the hard drive. The second step is to remove all windows drivers is pegged against because Windows will not allow pilots used to be completely uninstalled. To do this put Windows in "safe mode" where it does not use most of the drivers and then uninstall and delete the driver files themselves. step final is to install your favorite drivers, the AMD and Intel video drivers in this case.

Here's how I got AMD/Intel switchable graphics to work in Windows 10:

    1. I went on the site of dell drivers with Internet Explorer (not Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome/etc) and used the detection system to recognize my laptop. Then, I downloaded the video drivers Intel and AMD for 64-bit Windows 10
    2. I uninstalled all of the AMD and Intel video drivers via the Add/Remove Programs application in Control Panel.
      1. You can search for "Remove programs" in the search box in the windows bar to get the applet in Windows 10.
      2. There are a lot of Intel drivers for things like network cards, be sure to uninstall the drivers for video cards only.
    3. I started in SafeMode Windows 10. Search for instructions on internet to find out how to enter safe mode.
    4. I opened the control panel and went to the Device Manager to remove the video drivers left on the system.
      1. I think that currently used driver files are not completely uninstalled when you uninstall the software of the driver in the usual way, we must do more.
      2. Open Device Manager (a passerby is windows key + 'x')
      3. Open graphics cards, there should be one for intel and amd.
      4. Right-click on each graphics card and choose uninstall. Then click on the option button driver remove and remove drivers
      5. reset
    5. After the reboot, check that the graphics cards in Device Manager are very generic, they say probably intel or amd.
    6. Install the device driver software intel you downloaded from dell
    7. reset
    8. Install the amd you device driver software downloaded from dell
    9. reset
    10. You should now see the option "Configure switchable graphics" If you right click on the desktop.
    11. Try to run a game that requires a bit of graphics card
    12. Open the app "Configure switchable graphics" and check that it has considered the game that you just ran and that he put it to 'high performance '.
    13. fact

Probably, you should be on a/c during all this power. I think that I heard that the switchable graphics may change if it is on battery power, not sure.

Skyrim has worked after that, as well as the intros of l4d2 ran very slowly (they are incredibly unstable when they are executed on the graphics of intel), but the application itself crashed without warning on the desk, just as he finished a solo campaign of loading for me. I suspect that it's probably more a thing of windows 10 a graphical thing and hopefully reinstall the game will fix it.

Well, my case is very simple. I just install the driver the newest Intel.com and amd.com, and everything works. I wish just that Dell can update driver Audio Conexant Audio Device.

  • I have upgraded to Windows 8. How can I get the switchable graphics to work?

Windows 8 was released a little over a month and several users have had the desire to upgrade their laptop for Windows 8.

However, the laptop doesn't have any Windows 8 at HP software, because it is not yet approved for Windows 8.

This usually results in video cards being turned on so only used Intel graphics card.  Some symptoms of this is the laptop is running more hot than usual and the battery life is significantly short due to these two cards being fed at the same time.

This isn't an official solution to this problem, but it worked for me and others.

    1. install the HP software framework found here.

Credit for finding this link goes to CherylG.

    2. then, uninstall all ATI/AMD software through programs and features.

    3. go to www.hp.com and select Support and drivers at the top.

    4. Select software downloads and the pilot, then enter your product model or product number.

    5. Select the most recent operating system corresponding to your installation of Windows 8 bit architecture.  For example, Windows 7 64 bit for 64-bit Windows 8.

6 download the ATI graphics card driver.

    7. run the file once it is finished downloading.

    8. let the finished extraction process, but cancel the installation when you are prompted to continue after extraction.  Note where this is extracted to.  By default, this should be c:\swsetup\.

    9. here, there should be a setup.exe to install the ATI driver.  Right-click it and select troubleshoot compatibility.

10 follow the troulbeshooter of compatibility and select the suggested fixes.  On one screen, there will be a button of test program.  Click here to begin the installation.

    11. follow the installation and it must successfully complete.

    12. Once completed, right click on the desktop to check that configures it with the switchable graphics option is listed.

Once this done, switchable graphics should work fine on most systems.  This translates into reduced heat and charge the battery lasting longer.

While this may not work for everyone, he worked for many users.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello!

What you downloaded exactly on the Toshiba site?

As written Akuma you must install first added value Package you will find also on the Toshiba site. Check this box!

An interesting thing: it does not work if you are using the preinstalled operating system? It should have everything installed for your laptop.

the latest ati x 1200 for vista 64 drivers and install it, after installation, a reboot of the machine and nothing.

    Guimenez

    Hello

I Don t know why install the won´t drivers. You may need to install manually in the Device Manager (I mean, go to the device, and then on the device - in your case the vga controller - and you must go to the "driver update", then simply follow the installer for installation).

What I really suggest, is to go to these sites and download the drivers from there, because they have been modified to run on mobile systems:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
    http://www.OmegaDrivers.NET/

It would be better because the normal pilots are not intended to run on portable computers.

Please give some information about your situation

  • No wireless network under Vista 32 bit when I add more than 2 GB of RAM

    Hello

I am running Vista 32-bit Ultimate Edition (Service Pack 1) on my desk, I had 2 GB of physical memory installed on my system. but I recently had to increase the ram to 4 GB.

I got D-link Airplus G + DWL-G520 + wireless adapter PCI, which worked very well with my OS. but since I upgraded my ram to 4 GB. He stopped to show me any network or to create or connect to another, using a d-link's router which works fine with the other portable 2 of my friends.

I even thought about updating my operating system to 64 bit instead of 32 that I use 4 GB of ram, but d-link does not support this product so I'm not able to find the 64-bit for this network card driver.

y at - it a patch or upgrade that I do on my vista ultimate 32-bit if I get my network wireless connected to my office with the same network card?

    Thank you guys

    Cordially :)

    Hello

If the 4 GB of RAM is important for you try a newer pci adapter.

Xtreme G wireless cards come out kind of standart.

This card is inexpensive has x 64 driver too and works very well.

  • problems .crd of opening the file extension under Vista 64-bit,

I have .crd files created by the cardfile program that was on older versions of Windows. Cardfile program does not work on Vista 64 bit. I need a way to open files in a usable format.

    Hello Moesch,

Thanks for posting on the Community Forums of Microsoft Vista.

You must associate the *. CRD Extension with the CardFile application. In Vista, by default, the extension of the CRD is associated with CardSapce.

    To change the file association:
    1. click on start and type CMD
    2. in the list right click on CMD and click "Run as Administrator".
    3. use the following commands to * change * the file association.
    a. type SCS .crd = CardFile31, and then press on enter
    b. Type ftype = C:\Windows\CARDFILE CardFile31. EXE %1 and press enter
    4. double-click the Cardfile.CRD file. It should open in the map file.

    It will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Hi tomgold,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

This can also occur if an incorrect device driver has been installed for the DVD-ROM device.

I suggest that you visit the DVD drive manufacturer site download the latest drivers for the drive and install on the computer and if it works. Make sure you download the Windows vista 64-bit driver.
