T540p Windows 7 deployment using MDT

Display drivers do not load. I tried the drivers of the Lenovo model Web page as well as the driverpack.

I have two inputs "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. The 2nd (NVIDIA according to PnPID) has a yellow bang.

What Voodoo is necessary to make this work?

I came up with a solution that doesn't involve your drivers.

  • After installing Windows 7 using MDT, Windows displays the message "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running.

    Hi all

I worked on creating a better system for my business get an OS up-to-date with all the required software, settings, and drivers. I have previously using WDS as autonomous and just syspreping images and pushing them up until he became incoherent and corrupting of the parts of the image. I did a little surfing on the web and discovered that many computing professionals use MDT to produce images of quality with all the customization they need. So that's the problem.

The image works fine. I'm able to customize the way in which I need to and get most of my successful deployed pilots (problem with trackpad drivers), but the error message I get when I try to run a windows update is "windows that update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running." After I received this message I check my services and it shows the update of Windows running service and long-term as well running services. Tried to restart as suggested and still no results. Undertook research for a possible fix and still nothing.

    Any help?

It became quite a headache for me. Thank you guys

  • Migration Profiles Windows XP using MDT to Windows 7 Pro.

I run a migration to Windows XP Pro computers to Windows 7 Pro using the MDT deployment tool. The environment consists of two subdomains, one used for normal users [USER.company.org] and a high for HER [INFOSYS.company.org]. When you attempt to migrate users that were migrated using the credentials of INFOSYS on would be 100% locked out in AD. We determined is not a software, printers or the mappings that are at the origin of the lockout. The user would constantly be locked until the profile was successfully deleted. Then the user would connect, allowing the profile in Windows 7 to be re-created.

When we use the level USER account, migration, we will not experience this problem most of the time. Here's the process we run.

During the process, use us the MDT and USMT migration both profiles and build the new system. The whole process is done using a USB 3.0 drive.

1 tech logs on to the Windows XP-based computer by using the INFOSYS account.

2 tech makes their local administrator account USER.

    3. newspapers outside account INFOSYS tech and logs on to the USER account.

4 tech helping process the USMT to save profile on USB.

    5. once the backup of the USMT is completed, tech restarts computer on USB to begin the process of MDT and LTI.

    6. computer full format and the installation of Windows 7 Pro and any software checked during the LTI process.

7 once installation is complete, restart the computer Windows 7 and the migration of users from the old Windows XP profiles on the Windows 7 computer starts. Once complete, the computer restarts.

    8. at this point, the migration is complete.

Anyone can log on and use the computer at this point.

Currently, we are beginning to see the other AD lockout, no matter what account migrates. Yet once, only a reconstruction of full profile solves this problem.

Everyone knows about this problem during their migration? And if so, how do solve you this problem?

  • Using MDT 2012

Here's a little story in my situation, I hope that there is a better way to do it.  A task that I performed very often is pictures of customers in internal double of their sata drives to several readers for the deployment.  As I do now is with a sled of 5 dock that has a source (in the image of the customer) drive and 4 targets (the disks I want to copy the image on).  As you can imagine, it is very time consuming.

Me are familiar with the use of MDT to deploy images on different servers and workstations and not in trouble.  I want to know is whether or not I can use MDT unfold this snowmobile. If we could keep customers from the images on the server and whenever we need a player of images we could then plug the right and just copy it to.  Is this possible?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

External DVD USB drives are cheap. Usually $20 for a good quality player. Just buy one of these at Best Buy or another store and use it to install Snow Leopard. Then you also have a drive for something else that you have on the disk.

  • What is a quick way to exit Windows 7 without using the mouse?

On Windows XP, I could type the window then u and U key to exit.

On Windows 7 I seem to need the mouse to exit, even if I did stop my setting of the default button.

In addition, Windows 7 wants to drag me through a few caveats that I've closed everything.

Sometimes, it's just my email that is open or a file folder, then there is no pending work.

But I want to just close without the quiz on my understanding of the risks of loss of work, etc..

I know that some applications such as Norton and Windows update can simply kill all ongoing enforcement programs to restart

during the installation of updates, so the 'risk' is not worth the constant reading.

Here are the steps to stop Windows 7 without using the mouse:

    Press Windows (Windows key).
    Release it
    Press the right arrow key
    Press ENTER key

If you don't want warnings to stop, you can create a shortcut on the desktop with the command-line ' shutdown/f' and assign a key combination.

See the following link for more shutdown command line options:
    http://www.computerperformance.co.UK/Windows7/windows7_shutdown_command.htm

Once you create the shortcut icon on the desktop, you right-click on the icon, select Properties. In the shortcut tab, you can assign a key under the shortcut key combination to launch this program.

I tried to run the program in question (Castle of the winds) in each mode of compatibility that is on the list and it is giving me this error message every time. Other people have managed to get the program to work, so I don't know, it does not work on Windows 7, but I can't make it work for me.
