  A Firefox 4 is from Firefox showing the default warning message will stop, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

  1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences

  Hello lsmalls787, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

I tried to type in the topic: config in the address bar and changing the browser.newtab.url back to about: newtab but it won't save my changes. I can type in the new address, but as soon as I click ok it is still the search.conduit. I checked that I have no Add ons and any additional toolbar. I've tried everything.
