  I took another look at the screenshot and I think I see the problem. Your position is on a master page. Table of contents does not pick up the elements of the master page, but you can ignore it on the document page and it should work.

• Table of contents with empty lines at the end

  Hi all

  I need to get rid of these annoying two empty lines at the end of any table of contents.

  Is it possible to prevent them from getting inserted? Or remove automatically after the update?

  This is crucial for me, because the text box (for OCD) adjusts its height automatically to the content (line numbers)!

  In my view, this is a bug. And I have pointed out. But it has not been fixed in versions a little.

  My problem with him is if I delete the extra return, it comes at the time when I update the table of contents. And if I have the framework contract to the exact size of the TOC shortened I get an overflow when I update. And I HATE to send anything with an overflow.

• Table of contents referencing paragraph AFTER a heading

  I use Framemaker + SGML 6.0.  In my paper the topics have not their own numbers, but are designated

  in the Table of contents of the numbering (automatic numbering) under the title.

  For example my document will contain something like

  this:

  HEADING A (for para. 5)

  Text of paragraph 5 etc...

  6 text of paragraph etc...

  SECTION B (para. 7)

  7 text of paragraph etc...

  8 text of paragraph etc...

  However by using the paragraph title when Mark to create the 'Table of contents' titles are considered as part

  in the previous paragraph when you use the < $paranum > tag reference page, it will appear as

  Para Num

  4 section A (para. 5)
  6 section B (para. 7)

  When I tried the section figure

  6 section A (para. 5)
  7 section B (para. 7)

  Is there a way I can reference the following para then the numbering follows the title appears in

  the table of contents?  Maybe a tag like < $paranum > that makes reference to the number following para and not the current alleged

  one.

  Just so that you understand how FM uses building blocks, FM begins the current paragraph and work backward (toward the beginning of the document) to satisfy the query. Because the desired AutoNumber comes after style Title2, then FM simply don't know it exists as related to the current context.

  If you can, you might consider adding another style of paratag which is supposed to follow the Title2 that just displays the AutoNumber and does not increment. Then, you can increment the AutoNumber in the heading 2 style, set it at the end of the paratag, rather than the beginning and also apply a character attribute that uses an unprintable color so that the AutoNumber in Title2 does not appear in your final result.

  But first I want to rethink the reasoning for AutoNumber in the table of contents if they are not used in the main text. It's very confusing for a reader.

  Hi guys,.

  Recently, I learned how to link and synchronize with RoboHelp Word documents. However, I am having a few problems when I updated the project RoboHelp change Word document after I right click on the file > update inside the pod project manager.

  The current challenges, I am experiencing the following:

  1. The clue that I have configured with the selected words of subject pages becomes empty after I updated the Word document in Robohelp.
  2. The table of contents becomes white after I updated the Word document in RoboHelp.
  3. I had to remove the excess on some Pages in the topic space because it looked funny when the previewed image. When I updated the Word document in Robohelp, returned the excess space that I removed...
  4. Another weird issue is that, sometimes, the changes I make in RoboHelp overrides any Word document. For example, if I have added text to a particular topic within the Word document and save it, Robohelp will not update the contents of the pages of the section with the Word changes even after I've updated the file inside RoboHelp...

  I'm not entirely sure how to work around these problems or if I'm doing something wrong. I really want to use the capabilities of RoboHelp synchronization, as it is more efficient for single source reasons.

  Advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. You do not use the project for related Word documents index. You insert a placeholder for a separate index. See the pages on the links on my site.
  2. I guess that now you do not have OCD, other than that of the linked document.
  3. It's probably because the excess space comes from the Word document. You will need to fix here.
  4. To get a change in RoboHelp and a different change in Word, when you update the RoboHelp change sticks and the word it is not applied? Which can only happen if you protect your changes. Again, see my site.

• How to reorder the Table of contents?

  Hi all

  In Adobe Captivate 8 I'll create a Table of contents for my introduction to e-Learning. I found the tutorial on Adobe on how to create it.  I know I can you rearrange slides easily in Captivate. My question is this. The Table of contents will revamp the as well as slides or I have to do separately?

  You need to just reset the TOC, there is a tiny button at the bottom which allows to reset. At least if you have best practices:

  1. to name the slides with the name that you want to appear in the table of contents
  2. the slides that you want to have a higher level and the name of the Group of groups with the name that you want to appear in the table of contents

  In addition I always recommend during training, waiting, with the creation of the table of contents, until the project is completed. Then you can do more editing in the table of contents, such as the creation of more than two levels (groups + slides will be paid the flimstrip, not more levels).

  The problem is having the poster, it is that when they click on the "Search" tab and then return to the table of contents, then the table of contents are empty until they hide the pane and then click table of contents again.

  What we don't know the wire or the video is the version of HR or the version of the browser. Also this happens you in other browsers?

• When I linked book FM, I have files in the project files, but no chapter file in Table of contents chapter

  Using RH9 in TC 3/Windows XP

  I've linked to a number of books in this project. A book has all the chapters files well displayed in project files folder in the project manager, but have no books in the table of related materials.  Only topics.  How to fix this problem.  It seems that I deleted all the files in the table of contents before that I can delete the TOC file in the project manager, but is it anyway to regenerate the table of contents?

  Hi parties,

  You don't want to say that the table of contents are different in RoboHelp compared to FrameMaker TOC, please take a look at this blog http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2010/03/demystifying_mapping_filesettingisf_and_toc_genera tion.html- it might be useful.

  you don't Ned to remove the link from the book of RoboHelp can just make changes in FrameMaker or update and correct path of TOC in RoboHelp and Force the link to update.

  It should make changes in ROboHelp TOC.

  In addition to that you can change the table of contents to RoboHelp after generation according to your need (these changes are going to get is returned on the next update)

• How to remove a line empty after an anchor of the table?

  We use FrameMaker 12 on Windows 7 (64-bit) platform.

  I'm working my way down to a chapter in the content of the training. I'm at halfway in the chapter, and - as fate would have - I need start a table at the top of a page.

  When I insert a table (with a caption/title at the top), FM creates an anchor at the top of the page. The space to the right of the anchor is a blank line.  In fact, I want the table to start at the top of the page without the white line to the right of the anchor.

  That's what I tried, with results:

  I put the cursor after the anchor and press DELETE.

  Result: The text * under * the table is set up above the table.

  I put the cursor after the last piece of text on the previous page and press DELETE.

  Result: The paragraph on the previous page Stoops to the next page on the top of the table, leaving a large empty space on the previous page.

  I change the start option (Table Designer) at the top of the column (or the top of the Page).

  Result: FM leaves the anchor where she was, move the table until the next page and leaves a completely blank page where the table used to be.

  Is it possible to just go up the table so that it is on the same line as the anchor?

  (And as a design tool problem, is there ALWAYS a reason why a content developer wants a complete line of vacuum over a table?)

  Assuming that your para anchor has a spacing of X:

  • In the Paragraph Designer set it for tea by anchor, base: space: below the FMP: -x
  • In the table designer for the table, set the base: space: above: -x

  A series of tables not run-together, sure. But the hack of negative space above there are quite often do suggests a design control.

• I'd like to produce consistent spacing before and after the section headings in the table of contents

  I am trying to create a style for the entries of table of contents for the titles of the books section. I would have a little more vertical space between these securities and two other section titles or sub-section titles, like so:

  Section 1

  Paragraph 1 a

  Paragraph 1(b)

  Section 2

  Section 3

  and so on. To do this, I can easily add a space before and after the space for the section title style. The problem comes when there are two titles with no intermediaries paragraphs, such as 2 and 3 in the example above. Then, the space between these titles is double. If I set is a nonzero value space before or after the space, but not both, then the titles won't be correctly spaced in areas where it has paragraphs either below or above a section title. Does anyone know how to get a uniform spacing?

  Make a third style for the case where there are two titles of section together.

• Table of contents disappear after you allow blocked content

  I have a project in Robohelp 9 (single in FrameMaker)

  I can compile the help and run. When I see him, I see complete help with the blocked message "Allow content."

  When I click on allow blocked content, my help is displayed, but now the table of contents are missing. (See pictures below)

  I was generating the help in the same way for a long time and this is the first time I've seen this problem.

  I have install/uninstall Robohelp 10, but I've built help (although a different project) after successfully

  I don't really know what scripts are running here and blocked. Can someone has seen this and someone help?

  That's what I thought, but with problems like these, it begins to be desperate!

  I have Reinstall RH 9 and applied all the updates. The problem persists locally, but I'm able to run files from the site web succcessfully. Take the time to test a little more, but a good validation.

• InDesign CS5 (Mac) document is on strike (crashes for .idml, creation of table of contents)...

  1. document A: attempted to create a Table of contents to replace the one I already have. INDD beachball.

  2 force quit INDD and restarted. On the re-creation of table of contents with the new model, same result. Force quit again.

  3 restarted Mac

  4. the same result as 1. Set up a new style of table of contents, with or without PDF hyperlinks. Same result.

  5 reset preferences INDD. Document reopened attempted to create the table of contents. Same result.

  6 document B: have tried to create a table of contents in another document. No problem, should be document, rather INDD as a whole.

  7. the document A: Reopened document original buggy, attempted to create IDML, but it froze at 57%. Force quit again...

  What can I do to get a non-buggy working paper, has? It has variables and references, but the fact of B documents.

  Open as copy didn't work so I decided to go back to the previous version (I always do a new document when the customer sends the next set of amendments) and re-done about 5 hours of work, but now I have an updated version that does not keep crashing and with cross-reference works really well. Thought it would be better that send on you because I assumed that no one would be able to determine what was causing the document crashing to the point 57 percent of idml creation or when you click the mark button table of contents.

  I guess that the 57% point INDD works on the table of contents, or cross-references or those dratted variables that cause any document down if the text that contains is selected. This is a bug that I wish Adobe would fix pronto. Only occurs on Mac not PC of CS5 version apparently computers.

• Empty gaps in the table of contents

  My WebHelp is output using the Java applet option. The table of contents is vast and has many nested books, and when you browse through it, empty wide gaps are displayed in the TOC pane. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

  In titles only? Or in the names of files, too?

  Is a section called, "take a % $@ % bond ' in a file that has the file name:

  Take a % $@ % leap.htm?

  Spaces in file names can also cause problems.

  You will need to rename the files, and titles can remain as they are, maybe.

  If you encounter problems when special characters are only in topic titles, which is probably related to the Windows vs UTF-8 character sets. I faced this, but I don't have a good procedure step by step to recommend. Perhaps some colleagues in the forum can help.

  I recently inherited a help file. Our COMPUTER service complete updates of the application and generates content for the help file, I include in the file, generate the JAR file and transfer to programmers to integrate into the final product.
  
  I have OCD instructions to 'Automatic Creation' whenever I finish my updates. It all works well, except that the client has the hope that the table of contents will be in a specific order. The routine of automatic creation of guard placing books and pages in alphabetical order. I have to use them whenever I generate.
  
  Does anyone know how to force the books and pages in one order other than alphabetical?

• Duplicate sections throughout the table of contents after generating the HTML5 multiscreen output

  Use: RoboHelp 10, version 10.0.0.287

  Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. click on file > create > main layout (Multiscreen_HTML5)

  2 al ' Generate window click on [Save and Generate]

  3. wait

  4. click on [view results]

  5 results show swathes of the table of contents reproduced in other sections.  10 more times to repeat the generation before that the entire table of contents points are correct and I can publish.  This is not preventing me from doing the job, but it's certainly a time killer.

  Background: I inherited a working version.  I did not create it.  I have more knowledge of the HTML language, but I'm not a developer.  I didn't upgrade beyond RH10 option.  I have studied this many times, but have not been able to find a solution.  The only other thing I've seen sometimes are error messages related to the toctree.js file, but I still don't understand those.  Even when I have not, this past yet, but I have included this error just in case it may be related, although I suspect that it is a separate issue.  I don't currently have the line in the js file because this sample is old and I have not seen the question at least a month.

  Other Notes: I've seen a few posts on a similar question in the printed version, but, I do not have a printed version.  I don't know if that makes a difference, and do I know if anyone in the past that put in place or even where to go to watch.

  

  

  Try to move the project to somewhere that the path is not so long and generate a new folder.
