Table of contents: sequence of elements of evil

In my paper (no service book used), each section begins with two sections: first paragraph Style 1, then 2 of paragraph Style. In the table of contents, I need the setting, conversely: Style of paragraph 2 above, followed by paragraph 1 below Style.

However, in the generated table of contents, headers appear in the same order as in each section. Has anyone an idea what goes wrong?TOC sequence.png

In a case like this, you may need to 'wrong' ID by doing what you want. You can do this by adding some kind of nonprintable framework (put it on a nonprinting layer, set attributes for non-printing or make the invisible text by setting fill on [none], the last being the worst choice) with one of the titles. If it is on the same layer, it can be hung in the text stream is moved during the edition with the rest of the text. Add the title that you want the list in no particular order to this framework by using a unique style, not the one used in running text and indclude this style in the TOC instead of the running text. This will allow you to position managers correctly compared to them to get your titles in the correct order, but it's a pain.

When I do the non-printing of stuff like what I like to make it really obvious mode layout, so I usually use red text. It can be easy to forget that there is something invisible if you don't see it, and the next guy makes mounting it will also appreciate if you don't hide things.

It is placed on the first page containing the content where the table of contents is generated from. Also the added page at the beginning does not contain the elements of the master page, it's just a page of blanco.

    When I run this Script on InDesign CS5 to office, the table of contents are placed on the first page added with this script. Also, does this page contain master page items!

    How is it possible to place the table of contents (with overflow text) before the first page containing the content. The page that contains the table of contents should contain elements of the master page.

    It is possible through the HTML code. In Notepad, open the file "Topic.slp". On line 35, you will see a list of links:

  • Can someone just list all the reasons that may explain why some elements will not be displayed in a table of contents?

    Extremely frustrating. I've set up a catalogue, all the section headers I want to appear in the table of contents are tagged with the same paragraph style, but he simply refuses to include some of them - after a certain point in the book. I looked at all that I can think of to try to see what is different about these elements - and nothing. I have searched forums, cannot find a response - perhaps because it is a general question. But there are several reasons why for example the Annotator gradient may not appear in artificial intelligence (another thing that drove me crazy)... hoping someone similarly list the main factors that can break a table of contents, and I hope that my answer will be there somewhere.

    Nothing wrong with Win 7 (my OS of choice).

    This seems very unlikely in your case, but check to make sure that you have not the multiple styles with the same name in the groups of style or with capital letter.  You might want to try this, too: remove minor corruption by exporting

  • Is it possible to implement the sequences to browse to project with several tables of contents and conditionalized modules

    I use RoboHelp 9 with WebHelp output.

    I have five outings, which one contains help for common functions, while the other four contain help for modules under license. When a user opens a module under license assistance, the user sees the soul help and authorized assistance. In addition, the files are conditionalized so that the unauthorized search a help licensed module brings nothing.

    I have been solving problems with the previous topic and the next topic which, thanks William, I learned are associated with browse sequences. After having tried various configurations, I have a few questions:

    • HR support a sequence to travel alone in a project, even when the project has several outputs & fakes?
    • If HR supports a sequence to browse only, does that mean that there is no way to create a unique navigation for each separate output sequence?
    • If HR supports several sequences of travel, which is the workflow?

    I also maintain a table of 'master' contents which contains all the modules, frequent and without a license. What I've done for now is to autocreate a browse sequence based on the table of contents "master." When I generate the output of a module under license, which is conditionalized, I only see the table of contents for this module and, therefore, can only travel between books and subbooks for this add-on. I also checked that the subjects that do not appear in the module conditionalized as for another module licensed, do not appear in the list of search results either.

    Me again, Carol

    You also questions about the functional differences between WebHelp and WebHelp Pro, so let me explain.

    I know only two major differences other than (the additional benefits of analytical feedback reports) and the management of 'Zones' with authentication in RoboHelp Server.

    1. The behavior of browse sequences as explained above
    2. The fact that the categories of content are not supported in WebHelp Pro for this latest version 9.

    In regards to sequences to browse you try to anticipate the various modules (licensed, etc.): multiple browse sequences are included in an single . File BRS. Sequences are defined in the XML code in the single file.

    As a solution (for WebHelp and WebHelp Pro), you could create a Help.brs of the NPM. that you have already created a module; then backup and archive. Then create a change for the different module before generating again. The Help.brs of the NPM. will need to have the same name as your project, so you will have to manage the .brs desired file in the project folder when you build this version. All your other choices (table of contents, Index, conditional tags, etc) remains the same for the respective modules.

    Finally, I notice that you generate apparently WebHelp Pro right now even if you are not published on the server of HR? This is really not the best practice. You must generate WebHelp plain for a web server that has no HR server on it (even if you can be getting away with it). Regarding your concern about "breaking" something; each output is placed in another! SSL! folder automatically when you build, so you should be able to generate WebHelp without interfering with the release of WebHelp Pro. Then, you can republish on the HR using WebHelp Pro Server, whenever the server is ready.

  • Update Table of contents of evil - erase my paper!

    Hey smart people...

    So I have this document of 50 pages of recipes that I do in CS2 (as old as the world), and I had made a table of contents at the time where I had only 10 pages or more. My styles are all set up correctly and entered into the TOC correctly, and it worked fine on page 10. Then, when I got to page 50 and returned to update, MY DOCUMENT is ALL WHITE. It's not all header entries get more, even not that he pulled back when I created it (and I have not changed styles since then or the Scriptures he shoots!) Any ideas? I'm naïve here and very sad.

    Okie dokes... then how to penetrate a document stories?

    There is a free script actually by the Adi Ravid on the Exchange: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1302 # 518 that exceeds the capabilities of the sample scripts that can burst a single image or release a thread into independent stories. Will release a thread to any setting and leave things threaded on each side of the break (as well as making independent executives, if that's what you want). I just tested, and it runs in CS4 no problem (says it's for CS, CS2 & CS3).

    Just extract the script from the file downloaded and put in any application or use of the scripts folder-scripts folder, and it will be available in the actions panel. Launch it by double-clicking. The easy way to find the right folder is to open the actions panel and right-click on something, and choose Reveal in Explorer/Finder.

    Leaders of the tab are defined by selecting the tab stop in the definition of the style or the tab dialog box (in the case of the table of contents, you must define it in the context of the paragraph style) and by typing the characters to use for the leader in the appropriate field.

  • RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.2.384): The search returns topics do not are included in the table of contents

    ENVIRONMENT: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 8.00 GB of RAM, 64 - bit OS, Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Acrobat Reader DC 2015.017.20050

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

    • A single RoboHelp HTML project with three exits. One of the outputs is a 'validation' reference that has its own Table of contents.
    • Validation reference Table of contents contains a subset of the subjects in the main help system. For example, the help system main table of contents contains a folder named 'Administration '. This folder is not in the table of contents of reference for Validation.
    • The reference of Validation is displayed on a public web site. Therefore, we applied the tag "Non_public_info" contained in the topics shared that we do not want to appear on the public website.
    • WebHelp parameters are:
      • Validation reference TOC
      • No map file, no sequence to browse
      • Conditional compilation expression: NOT_Non_public_info_AND_NOT_StyleGuidelines_AND_NOT_TRP (we keep our Style rules in the project to facilitate access during development. TRP content must be rejected because it was not released.)
      • Exclude non referenced topics of output is selected.
      • Search options. Only 'Show Total number of search results' and 'View AND search Option in outputs' are selected.
    • After generating the WebHelp, we remove the files that we don't want (RoboHelp generates empty folders, even if the files are not in the table of contents.)

    PROBLEM: A search in the help of Validation reference reveals the topics that we think should not be included because the subjects themselves are not in the table of contents of Validation reference. For example, the section "Data quality analysis" is in the main table of contents help, but not in the table of contents of reference for Validation. Therefore, we do not expect the topic appears in the search results pane at all. But he does. When the user clicks on the subject, the "Resource not found" message appears.

    Nothing shows the topic Style_Guidelines because the StyleGuidelines label conditional construction applies to the entire folder and the "Style guidelines" book in the main table of contents. (Same thing for the TRP folder).

    QUESTION: Why are topics which are not in the table of contents and whose records are not in the project at all appearing in the WebHelp during a search? We need to rewrite the expression of conditional compilation or establish conditions differently. We assume not have topics in the table of contents, not including the topics not referenced in the output, and remove empty folders would be the way to go. Any help is welcome!

    Thank you very much.

    Carol Levie

    The table of contents does not control what ends up in the output for output online. All content tagged and tagged content which is not excluded by the expression of construction will be included. The parameter 'Exclude topics not referenced output' more exclude all subjects which are not in the table of contents AND are not related to any topic which is included in the output.

    On the other hand, for the print output the table of contents control which is found in the output. I think that it will fire a lot of people.

    If you generate the help and that you do not remove the unwanted files, do you still have the error? If this isn't the case, you know that the topic is referenced somewhere in the content of the reference of the Validation.

    Here is the help of RH11. I can't imagine it would have changed, but you could do a search to verify a second time for RH2015.

    Exclude output not referenced topics

    Select this option to exclude any topic that exists in the project, but is not the default theme in page layout or is not referenced table of selected contents, index or sequence to browse, or any referenced subject.

    Note: RoboHelp shows the topics not referenced that are excluded from the output in the output view module.

  • Table of contents issue in Captivate 8!

    Hello

    I use 8 Captivate and noticed that the width of the table of contents and the size of the font of titles are always the same in the primary, tablets, and mobile views.

    It is therefore impossible to use a size of width and the police appropriate to the main display because it will not exceed the edges of the mobile view, and if I do to adapt to this latter view, it becames too small for the primary display.

    How can I have a different TOC width and font size of table of contents for each display mode?

    If you use query selectors media in the CSS after you publish the project, you can have control more the sizes of fonts in any size of device. How do you use the questions from the media that you tell, stir with eyes wonder? Glad you asked, lets give it a whirl!

    First, we're going to get an overview of the project in a browser and to inspect the items in the table of contents to get their name of CSS class. We also take note of the name of the CSS file that has the rules of the element.

    So, we see that the font for each of these three sizes are controlled by the following CSS classes:

    .tocTitleText - "table of contents".

    .tocSlideTitleHeading - 'page title '.

    .tocText - "Slide".

    And the CSS for these classes is located in CPLibraryAll.css (which is put in the assets/css folder of the published project).

    For once we finish tinkering with our project and we are ready to add the media question our training cake icing, publish the project and navigate to the assets/css folder, and open the CPLibraryAll.css file in your favorite text editor. Most of the CSS been compressed up there at the top, but fear not, we'll just do scroll to the bottom of the file and create new things. Here's some info on the media if there will are curious. It's just the first link at random on the topic that I thought was useful, there are many others if you google it. Now to return to the program!

    At the bottom of the CSS file add these three requests, I'll paste it here so you can simply take their easy:

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 1024px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    do-size: 18px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    font size: 15px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    font size: 21px;

    }

    }

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 768px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    font size: 15px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    do-size: 12px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    do-size: 18px;

    }

    }

    @media only screen and (max-device-width: 360px) {}

    {.tocTitleText}

    font size: 13px;

    }

    {.tocSlideTitleHeading}

    do-size: 10px;

    }

    {.tocText}

    do-size: 16px;

    }

    }

    Now, you will probably change these values to the size of the font to something more close to what you were going, but stick to the same concept: small fonts for the smaller device, large fonts for larger sizes of device. My values here are quite subtle, so don't be afraid to experiment, and I used the pixel (px) instead of sizes in points (pt) so you can change that as well. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to go back into this file and adjust the sizes more to your taste if watch you it and it is not quite to the height.

    So it's probably a little obvious by the text in the Scriptures we've created rules for these three classes that apply only in certain situations, it is better media queries. In this case, we have a set of queries, one for each when the device or look a size struck the unit standard sweet spots: 360, 768 and 1024 pixels width respectively. Allows to extract a screengrab of it in action:

    Here we see for a width of 344 device, max-device-width: query 360px a kicking and substituted the class selectors. In the example, I highlighted the tocSlideTitleHeading to show the link between what it looks like and how the media query has adjusted the font size.

    My experience with the PAC was that if perform you this type of change (introduce the code or settings directly in CAP files) its best to do once you are all written when publishing done with the project. I can't say for sure, but I guess that if you make changes to the CSS file then go back and edit the project in Cape Town and re - publish your tricks of the media query will get wiped out and you will need to put back in. Just something to keep in mind.

    So there go! Questions from the media, FTW!

  • Buttons previous as well as the next topic would work in a complete table of contents or only in a book?

    Hi all

    I have a project of webhelp with several books and browse sequences.  The previous buttons as well as the following topic seem to operate with a single book.  Is that how it is supposed to work?  And if so, is there a way to make it work for OCD together through all the books?  With the help of HR 2011.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

    What you have to do is to create a large single sequence that runs through all of the topics in the table of contents. Exactly how do you this depends on your version of RoboHelp. For example, if you use the version 10 and earlier versions, choose the auto create option and enter 0 for the number of levels.

    If it is version 11 or 2015 Release, there is an interesting option provided.

    See you soon... Rick

    I don't want to have to the table of contents or interface options.

    don't you think it's possible?

    thanx

    Yes, there is a solution that will allow you to avoid show nav bars. You create a slideshow full invisible screen on all pages that are selected by scanning and tap. In this way, when the user clicks anywhere on the page, it interacts with the slide show but seems to have no effect on the user. You must add on the top of the slide show navigation buttons so that users can access other items.

    I took another look at the screenshot and I think I see the problem. Your position is on a master page. Table of contents does not pick up the elements of the master page, but you can ignore it on the document page and it should work.
